Bought for my young grandson Sam in hospital as a Get Well Quick present. Blue eyes opened wide on seeing the gift and I received a kiss and a hug and a big smile so he was pleased. I don’t understand these games myself but Sam was very happy.

Arrived quickly and well packaged. I do love the game, but must admit it’s easier than I expected. Feels like it’s targeted more at kids. Beautiful levels, visually, but I just wanted it to be like the old 2D Mario games.

I ordered this and it didn’t arrive, so I contacted customer support and they immediately gave me a refund and I purchased another. It arrived very quickly and is a great game. This would work great as a Christmas or birthday gift for anyone with a Nintendo Switch as the game is long, has some challenging elements, and is really fun. I would highly recommend this.

A great game to play with the kids, or the kids play solo. Most levels seem a bit easy, but it’s good fun with all the changeups in each level

This is a fun party game with plenty of mini games to suit everyone. Easy game is quick and easy to pick up, only using one or two movements/buttons. You can pick individual games to play or let the game choose for you. 3 difficulty levels to help people with all abilities. All the classic characters and more are here for Mario fans.

I completed the game a few months back but yet I still find myself playing the levels over and over again. Fantastic game for single player or multiplayer.
If you love Mario then this is a must have game

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOne of the oldest and most stubborn criticisms of Nintendo is that they like to rehash and reheat old and stale (albeit commercially successful) formulas in each console generation. Anyone who is acquainted with the likes of Mario Galaxy will know this to be an unfair criticism, but it is a persistent one all the same.

And when it comes to the 2D Mario platformer might there just be a grain of truth to this critique? Super Mario Bros Wonder’s answer to this is a resounding no.

It would have been so very easy for Nintendo to release another solid but perhaps unremarkable entry in their gloriously retro New Super Mario Bros series. But when it came to the Switch’s take on a 2D Mario platformer, we instead got a game that is both weird and wonderful in equal measure.

Determined to be different in every way except the predictable paper thin plot (not a criticism- this is Mario after all) the game dispenses with the familiar Mushroom Kingdom with all its cliched biomes. In its place are a plethora of new enemy types intertwined with the usual Dry Bones and Piranha plants. It’s a small addition in some ways but after more than forty years of Koopas and Chain Chomps it adds some much needed variety.

Of much greater significance is the game’s new signature mechanic in the form of collectible Wonder Seeds. These provide for innumerable, ingenious and entirely unpredictable changes in gameplay.

Indeed some of the transformations are so gloriously random that they can best be described as akin to a psychedelic experience. Whilst playing the game my favourite pass time (when not stomping Goombas of course) was to try and predict what that particular level’s transformation would be based off of its signature theme or mechanic. The fact that not once did I get it right is testament to Nintendo’s enduring ingenuity and creativity in game design.

If all of this was not enough we have the addition of not only three new power ups (of which the Elephant Fruit is quite possibly the coolest new entry to grace the series in years) but also innumerable “badges” that are unlocked in exchange for Purple Coin collectibles, another innovation that provide a much improved incentive and reward system on the traditional gold coins with all their surplus 1-Ups.

The badges, only one of which may be used in each level, add a new sense of strategy, assistance or challenge depending on your mood. It not only caters for all ability levels but adds a much greater dimension of player freedom and choice.

Super Mario Bros Wonder combines the best of 2D Mario platforming with a new sense of wonder. It is perhaps the most aptly named Mario Game in years and has yet again proved Nintendo’s unsurpassed ability to reinvent, refresh and renew. Now that is a wonder.

The last good 3D Mario game was Galaxy 2.

New Super Mario Bros was too easy and repetitive.

I was ready to give up on new Mario games. But I really enjoyed this one.

This is probably the best Mario game in recent years.

This game is good for the younger kids, it’s probably a bit boring and simple for the older kids. Nintendo continues on a slide and the switch is lacking but its a bit of fun.

Like many Mario and/or platform games this is fun but can get very frustrating! You will die/fail a ton of times – don’t expect anything else. Even people who lie on the internet that they’re the world’s best gamer will die a lot in this game.

It is a vibrant and colourful sidescrolling platformer as you would come to expect from the Mario franchise. As much as it is kid-friendly in spirit I’m an adult and I find it quite difficult so I’m not sure how kids could handle playing it, although I’m something of a completionist so perhaps kids would be happier to run through the levels without collecting everything than I am.

I do like it but it gets frustrating at times, but hey maybe it’s just me getting old!

Mario wonder is an amazing addition to your switch collection. Its classic 2d Mario with a twist.. with crazy seeds that turn levels into completely new experiences.

It can be played with friends and family and have characters set up for younger family members so they don’t miss out.

    Definitely worth the money

If you like your Mario side scrollers, then you’ll be right at home with this one. Honestly one of the best Mario games I have ever played. Many hours were put into this game through completing the 6 Worlds, and having a dab at the 7th Secret World which is unlocked after completing the story. The Wonder effects gives it a fresh take to the old classic formula. It’s even better with local multiplayer and best of all, there is no team collision like the previous Mario games meaning you won’t get picked up and thrown off the map! Buy it, play it on a big screen and you won’t be disappointed.

Super Mario Lovers – this one is for you!

This is a fantastic reboot of the 2d classic, in a full revamp, there are some tricky features but it’s a game which I think is very much firmly rooted as my favourite. It’s been nearly a decade since the last launch so this was a welcome addition to our switch collection!

Delivered super quickly, easy packaging and straight through the letterbox!
Also a fantastic price on the deal too!

This was by far the BEST Super Mario game ever (to us!) and we’ve finished faster than expected because it is that good and that addictive!
When I played the original Super Mario back in the 90s, we had no options but yo play the one and only Mario. Now we this one, my children and I get to select various characters.
Super Mario Deluxe is also super cool!
But they sure worked mega hard for this one.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis came out of nowhere, the attention to detail is amazing. The character animations have been improved from previous titles. I didn’t get on with the last few traditional Mario platformers but this has been fun from beginning to almost end. Not there yet. Not super hard but some levels are frustrating but achievable. I see lots of replay value here.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersCurrently I’m about halfway through the game and so far it’s been fun. There are some refreshing new elements such as the wonder star which tranform the level and allows you to collect a wonder seed. But also there’s plenty of nostalgia in the 2D platformer for those of you that have played mario as long as I have. Something I’ve found helpful is they’ve gotten rid of the timer that used to sit in the top right of a level, meaning you can spend as long as you like exploring a world. There are also a selection of characters you can choose from, and there’s also essentially an easy mode, as by playing as some of the characters you can no longer take damage from enemies and can only die from falling. Overall I’d rate it 4 out of 5 stars.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI’m about five hours into the game now (only got it a couple of days ago) and am loving it. The level design and game mechanics are exceptional, the best I’ve seen in any platformer. Wonder flowers, which change the level in creative ways, in particular really add to the game. The new power-ups such as the elephant one work really well as do the badges you earn through the game which give you a bonus such as being able to jump higher or survive one fall in a level.

This game is a little easier than others in the series, which might be a positive or negative depending on your preference. For me the difficulty feels about right, I’ve not got stuck on any level so far, but have had to use multiple lives a few times, so there is some challenge.

I usually give negatives about the game too when I review it, but cannot think of any here.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was blown away by the trailer for this game, so much so that I took the plunge and ordered a Switch pretty much just because of this game. I was half expecting to do an update as soon as I inserted the game, but nothing it just played out of the box, which if you are a PS5 or an Xbox owner, you are not used to that. As an old gamer, I would say that the game play is far too easy, in my days you had three life’s and game over which meant that a lot of games you never did complete. However, with this I have over twenty life’s so the game is just far too easy in that respect. However, I love it I am a fan of 2D and not 3D Mario, but I can only give this a four star review simply because it is a lot easier to complete.
