Been looking for a good pair of boot socks for ages, the reviews here really caught my attention. Soaks have come and they look incredible, well made feel so comfortable. So test will be with a new pair of Karrimor boots and a good walk.

The socks have just arrived and look nice but the picture on Amazon’s website shows 6 pairs and that is what I expected not the 3 pairs that arrived. On closer inspection I can see that, in very small print, it says 3 pairs – as that is the case the picture should also show 3 pairs otherwise it is very confusing.

I thought I was buying 6 pairs for 18nope it’s 3! I got these as I go through socks in 3-4 wears (I walk a lot) these make boots really feel cushioned, I loved them but honestly I’m afraid to wash them, they’re pure Marino wool and my jumpers shrink if I wash them at a normal temperature. I do love them but am shopping around to find others that are as comfy but perhaps a wool mix rather than pure wool. I need to be able to wash them easily. Who wants to hand wash socks?

I’m getting serious about socks, and here are my requirements:

    1. Good wicking ability. My toenails can get a bit of fungus if I’m wearing shoes too long. Getting the moisture away from my feet is important. Cotton is absolutely the worst for that, while wool, acrylic and bamboo are best (in that order).

    2. Durability. Even just walking about in the house with maybe slippers on in the winter can mean some bad socks get holes within just a few months. I need better.

    3. Comfort. I’m a man. I wear socks. I don’t care about comfort when I’m in a combat situation. But since I’m never in combat situations here in North London, I can take comfort as number three. But reluctantly. Because I am a man.

These socks bode well against the above criteria, being 50% wool with none of that cotton rubbish. 30% nylon though, so I’m preparing for some leccy shocks perhaps. But so far, so good.

    We shall see….

My Dad generally please with quality of socks , however his foot is a bit wider then regular and he is really struggling to put it on as it way to tight. It’s a shame as didn’t come cheap
