Its a nice little adapter, well made and presented. Nice and slim so a great addition to keep in a laptop bag for when you’re out and about, I always carry these type of adapters, they come in handy.
My only issue is I feel like some of the specs are a bit off, just anecdotally, I plugged this into my Microsoft surface that can charge via usb-c, connected to a 100w usb-c charger through the PD port on the dongle it charges a bout 20% slower than when connected directly, if this were truly 100w PD I don’t think you’d see that. USB transfer is also slower through this but not to a degree that’s unusable just not full speed usb 3.0.
That being said given the price at time of review (12.98) you’re getting a lot for your money, I have similar products that cost 4x this and functionally they’re the same just this seems a little slow on power and data transfer so I still give this 5 stars on that basis.
Today we have a USB C Docking station featuring HDMI out.
It comes in a good looking box and comes with some lovely extra touches such as a USB C to USB A adapter and a travel pouch.
Testing it out, I have plugged my phone in to the USB 3, a monitor in to the HDMI, and the C in to my laptop and all three are working fabulously together, so that’s me very pleased.
I also like the long and thin bar profile of the dock as it keeps my desk just a little bit tidier.
I’ll keep trying it out, but so far it’s holding together well.
Edit: Just switched on my laptop and after about 30 seconds use it was pumping out static for a few seconds. Might be OK, but I’ll be keeping an eye out for any other bad behaviour.
This USB hub from has a lightweight metal casing and USB-C connector, though a USB-A adapter is also included together with a soft drawstring carry bag. Build quality seems pretty solid, though the cord isn’t braided and is a little short.
The hub features three USB ports though only one is USB 3.0, the others are only USB 2.0 so ideal for mouse and keyboard. Next to those are a USB-C port which supports 100W PD fast charging and slots for SD and micro-SD cards. At the end is an HDMI port. I’ve tested all the ports and they work perfectly with no issues. They are all labelled on top.
My work laptop has very few ports so this hub helps me to connect all my devices. An Ethernet port would have been nice but overall I am very happy with this USB hub, it feels pretty durable and works exactly as intended.
There are lots of accurate photos of the product already, so I thought I’d show you the box, the drawstring bag and the USB-C/A adapter.
This is a nice enough product that seems robust enough to be used as a companion device for a laptop, and (mostly) does exactly what it promises, by allowing you to connect a wide range of things to a computer with a limited number of ports. I’ve had it set up for a few days now and it neither overheats or causes crashes, both of which have happened to me with other similar products. Receiving a bonus drawstring bag and USB-C/A adapter was nice, and unexpected at this price point, even if I don’t think I’ll ever need to use them. One minor criticism is the big logo on the top, I would have preferred a more restrained, less eye-catching design, especially as the brand itself is comparatively unknown (I searched for their other products online, it seems they also do soldering irons and a “Fluffy Butter Slime Scented Cloud Slime Kit”, whatever that might be.
On the negative side, the port labelled USB 3.0 doesn’t seem to deliver the promised 5Gbps transfer speed. I did a real-world test by copying a 2.5Gb file from my Mac’s internal SSD to an external drive and it took around 40 seconds with one of the two USB 2.0 ports and 23 seconds on the 3.0. Twice the speed is nice, but it’s nowhere near the 10x improvement the marketing material claims. It may be that the drives are a bottleneck not the adapter, but I was still disappointed by the performance.
Overall, this is a solid device (well constructed with a metal case and tough looking connectors) that doesn’t really disappoint given it’s price. If you’re a power user with external SSDs and a lot of big files to move around, you should probably spend a bit more on a higher-end adapter, but if you’re a home user who occasionally needs to plug in odd things then this will do the job just fine.
As someone deeply invested in technology, I understand the importance of having a reliable, multifunctional USB hub. That’s why I am thoroughly impressed with this 7-in-1 USB-C Multiport Adapter. It’s not just a hub; it’s a game-changer for anyone who juggles multiple devices and needs seamless connectivity.
What stands out immediately is its versatility. This hub elegantly solves the common problem of limited ports, especially in modern, slim laptops and devices. Equipped with USB-A 3.0, two USB-A 2.0, a 100W USB-C PD for rapid charging, a 4K HDMI port, and an SD/TF card reader, it covers practically every connectivity need one could have. Whether I’m working from home, in the office, or even on the go, this hub has proven to be an essential companion.
The 100W PD charging port is particularly noteworthy. It offers not just convenience but also efficiency, charging devices quickly and reliably. The 4K HDMI port is another major plus, allowing for high-definition media display that transforms any workspace into a mini-cinema or an efficient multitasking hub. The HDMI capability is perfect for presentations, movie nights, or extending your workspace with an additional monitor.
Data transfer speed is crucial in our fast-paced digital world, and this hub excels here too. The USB 3.0 port’s 5Gbps transfer speed makes handling large files a breeze, while the additional USB 2.0 ports are perfect for peripherals like a mouse or keyboard. The SD/TF card reader is a thoughtful addition, catering to photographers and videographers who need quick and efficient data access.
The compact design of this USB C hub is remarkable. It’s lightweight, easy to carry, and doesn’t require any complicated setup — plug and play at its best. This level of portability and ease of use is exactly what I look for in tech accessories, making it a perfect fit for my dynamic lifestyle.
Compatibility is key, and this hub doesn’t disappoint. Its wide range of compatibility with USB-C and USB-A devices, from Macbooks and iPhones to Galaxies and Chromebooks, means I can use it with nearly all my gadgets without any issues.
In conclusion, this USB C Hub is an essential tool for anyone looking to enhance their digital connectivity. Its versatility, speed, and ease of use make it a standout product, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable multiport adapter. A solid 5 out of 5 stars for this indispensable gadget!
First off, I really like this, as an adaptor it works well. I’m not going to lie, I was really hoping it could double as a charging hub, so if I plugged my usb/usbc devices in they would get some charge. They didn’t. If they had it would have been perfect. Works well for it’s intended purpose though.
Cable and adapter are completely clean and safe to use, no juicejacking/power overvoltage with this cable/adapter.
As for power delivery, its quite complicated, plugged in to a regular type C connector as seen on the image it does not manage even PD1, it defaults to 5volts for charging, possibly does not have a proper pd chip in there if you are trying to charge something Through the adapter, not the other way around, if you want to charge the connected device the reverse should work fine.
Another bait and switch with the colors of the USB ports, even though they are colored blue 2 of the 3 are NOT 3.0 but 2.0. Card reader and hdmi passthrough works nicely at lower resolutions. Does not support 4k 60.
Great for small tasks to attach a mouse and keyboard a small monitor to a laptop per say, if that is something you consider buying this for then its a no brainer.
Received this review copy to compare to other units, with the main interest being its performance as a card reader, along with giving other connection options for my one available USB 3 port. We also do have a Surface laptop that only has 1 x USB A & 1 x USB C port, so will get used with that as well.
This compact little unit offers what is required to achieve this, an SD card & MicroSD reader, along with one USB3 ports and two USB2 ports, and an HDMI port, additionally a USB C pass through port so the functionality of the original port is not lost, this offers PD charging. All in a unit with a premium feel, being of metal construction and well-made lead and connections.
It does come with a drawstring case and a USB C to A adapter, useful for my particular application connected to a desktop USB A port.
As a card reader connected to my computer (via the included USB C — A adapter) I found it quite slow (2 minutes 02 seconds to transfer a mixed batch of photos and video totalling 3.33 GB). I have other (card reader only) units that can shift the same files is 15-30 seconds, connected by USB A.
The unit takes all the common variations of SD & Micro SD card, I use a SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB SDXC card and there was no issue. I don’t have a larger card to test.
The cards slot in easily and sit firmly in the slot.
I have no reason to test the HDMI port, so can’t comment on that.
It would have been good to see all the USB2 ports as USB3, on a unit first available November 2023.
If card reader speed is not a priority then this is a well-built unit offering other functions as a hub for a computer with few ports, which is its primary designed purpose.
