Seems a good product, but at the end I could see only the downsides of it.
It is easy to assemble; but the build quality is not as good as expected. After only 2 uses; the clip that holds the handle broke.
2 type of brushes, that can be washed but not really usable on wood surfaces.
Also there is no option to rinse with this mop, so you need another separate one.
This electric mop is very easy to assemble and to use. Lightweight, sturdy and durable. I love how it cleans on the corners and remove all the dirt. Modern design, beautiful colours and features. It would be perfect if it was able to steam too.
Vileda have raised the bar with this electric mop, its very easy to put together thanks to good instructions and it’s not long before it’s spinning around your floor and it does a good job.
Although it has rotating heads it’s not difficult to control like floor buffers for example, it does pull a bit during cleaning but not so much that you lose control. It has a good strong jet and controlling the direction is very easy. We have a stone kitchen floor and it comes up a treat and because of the design the rotating heads get int corners very nicely, the fact it’s cordless and still maintains it’s power and speed is amazing even on a single charge.
I love the fact that once used you dont have to dismantle everything for its next use meaning its ready in a flash to clean up any juice spills our grandchildren have left behind. For a mop made mostly of plastic it is very well made and feels very sturdy, something you will be able to use for a long time and not just a couple of months.
All in all a very good product from a trusted name, very pleased
This electric mop is a great gadget to help around the house.
It came with two sets of round cleaning pads for different types of flooring, a charger, and a tray to keep the mop away from the floor when not in use. This mop arrived fully charged and ready to use. It is a shame that, for the price, the company didn’t include some small storage bags to put the charger and the spare mop pads in.
The mop is easy to assemble but requires care when doing so to make sure the cable is inside the mop pipe correctly.
As for the liquid that you can used with the mop, I am using water without any cleaning products. The instructions state that you should not use this mop with foaming cleaning products. I didn’t have any non-foaming floor cleaning detergent in the house, but plain old water worked fine. The bottle for the liquid attached easily and did not leak.
The mop is spraying a good amount of water and cleaning surfaces with a counter-rotating motion. It requires a bit of time when it comes to more stubborn dirt, but at least I do not have to do it myself because the power of the motor takes care of it for me.
This is a great cleaning gadget, especially useful for older people who do not want to have cables and would struggle to mop their floors. Because of its lightweight nature and the ability to clean under furniture, it is also a very convenient tool to have at home.
This spray map from Vileda feels like an attempt to raise the quality of a mop in the same way vacuum cleaners have come on leaps and bounds in the last decade or so. And while it might not be a new concept that revolutionises the whole principle of cleaning a floor, I still think it does a very good job.
It’s very light and easy to control. When the mop head is on the floor then there’s a slight drag as you’d move it around, as you’d expect (if there weren’t, it wouldn’t be cleaning anything!), but it’s remarkable how easy it is to manipulate it around. The spray is powerful and sensibly directed. It makes the job of mopping the kitchen floor really very quick indeed, and it’s effective.
The biggest speed improvement is the fact it’s cordless. Provided you top it up occasionally, it means that a kitchen spill can be dealt with in seconds. Gone is the time spent trying to work out whether to unplug the toaster or the microwave and then realising the cable isn’t long enough to reach from there anyway, and gone is the time afterwards spent wrapping it all up again. For most of our kitchen mopping needs, it turns out that that accounts for most of the actual time. That’s the real reason why it’s a massive time saver.
Despite being lightweight, the build quality feels good. It has a sturdy spine and doesn’t feel rattly. The charging plug feels solid and is one of those I’d happily leave charging overnight without concern. I don’t think I’ve owned anything from Vileda before but I’ve heard they’re a very trusted brand for reliability, and I can see why. And of course they’ve got a lot of history with mops.
Initial assembly is OK if just slightly faffy. The box that arrives is surprisingly small, “how does it fit in there?” kind of small, but it’s very cleverly packed compact. While keeping an eye on the cable that runs through the device, the rest is mostly click-and-play, especially popping the relevant cleaning head on.
At the current asking price of one hundred and fifty quid, and considering how often you actually need to use a mop, many people won’t be able to justify buying one of these. But if you were to take away the cost of a really good quality normal mop and just consider what the extra is for getting a cordless Vileda one, I don’t think it ends up working out badly. Personally I think it’s worth at least considering to pay that extra for the instant and satisfying convenience of a mop that’s immediately available, that lets you go from ‘spill just happened’ to ‘spill has been dealt with’ in a matter of seconds, and the supreme convenience of it.
This mop is wonderful. I don’t even know where to start when it comes to extolling it’s good points. I guess from the unboxing…There wasn’t an over abundance of cardboard used which made it easy to store for recycling. The mop was easy enough to assemble, the only issue I had was making sure that the electical cable that runs through the handle fit into it without getting in the way when I joined the sections. It’s a flat cable and it’s quite stiff. I worried about bending it to push it into the handle, but I didn’t end up doing any damage. The mopping/buffing discs fit easily onto the mop head and stay securely on until you take them off. You get two sets, one set more suited to cleaning whereas the other works for cleaning but would be better for buffing. Both can be washed in a normal cycle of your washing machine.
The mop is lightweight even when the spray bottle is full, and a tray/stand is supplied to stand the mop in when you are finished which will catch any drips/wetness that come from the pads once you have finished using it. It takes up very little room so I just stand it near a power point in my kitchen and grab it easily when I need it. In the past if I spilled water I couldn’t be bothered to get my mop and bucket from under the stairs to clean it up. Now I just grab the ‘Looper’ and in seconds the mess is cleaned up, job done. It is so quick and easy.
It does say on the description that you could use the mop between cleaning, which suggests that it isn’t suitable for giving a deep clean of your floors. Fortunately my floors don’t get that dirty, at most I spill a bit of gravy, or cat food. This mop easily deals with that mess. It really is perfect for what I need it for. At some point I want to get laminate flooring for my living room, in which case, this mop will be perfect for keeping that clean and dust free too.
A charging plug is provided. I plug it in overnight to charge although it certainly doesn’t take that long according to the instructions. When it is charging there is a red light at the front of the mop that flashes. When it is fully charged the light turns white so you will have no doubt about if it is fully charged or not.
All in all this is an awesome addition to our home, and the only reason I didn’t give a full 5 star review is because of the cost. I know it is a great bit of a kit, but if I hadn’t received it as a free item to review, there is no way I could afford, or warrant paying over 100 for it. I’d have to wait until I found it somewhere for sale. If you have no money worries and want something quick, light and easy to use to keep your floors clean, then you cannot go wrong with this ‘looper’.
Easy and quick to assemble. The instructions state (if my Pictionary skills are up to par) that you shouldn’t use washing up liquid but only water and floor cleaner. You get spare scrubbers too as they’re interchangeable. It does not provide a deep clean, only a surface clean and you cannot ‘add pressure’ to the mop to get sticky spots off better.
