A 34-inch, 165Hz ultrawide for 300? That sounds like a steal to me.

The largest monitor I’ve ever owned was a 27-inch 1440p monitor, and my first thoughts were, “This feels like a TV.” In person, it’s huge! There’s so much monitor space that I can easily multi-task with 3 different things. I feel more immersed because of the curved screen, making it appear like I can’t see anything else but the large screen in front of me. Despite the general idea that 1440p is ideal for 27-inch monitors, the pixel quality looks super crispy for gaming and watching movies/videos due to the 3440×1440 resolution.

There’s no mention of the panel type, but it seems to be a VA panel. This makes sense for the 300 price tag. VA panels have their ups and downs. The biggest benefit of this monitor using a VA panel is the excellent contrast ratios. Blacks are dark and rich, making it amazing for movies. However, the monitor lacks other qualities such as viewing angles, colour reproduction, and response time compared to IPS and TN panels. Can this monitor be used for gaming? Absolutely! If you manage to get the most out of the 165Hz refresh rate, then you can play competitively. I’ve played Fortnite, Valorant, and CSGO, and the experience was similar to my 165Hz monitor. As always, I recommend using discrete speakers instead of the in-built ones as they aren’t good.

The build quality of the monitor is pretty decent. It has tilt, swivel, and height adjustment features, giving you the freedom and flexibility to adjust the monitor to your liking. Despite my liking for RGB, having it at the back where it isn’t visible isn’t useful to me. Even if it can bounce off the wall to give a similar effect, my RGB light strips do that job better. The stand appears small and thin, but it’s pretty sturdy, and you also have the option to mount it.

I’ve now tried an ultrawide monitor for the first time, and even though it might not be impressive to those who have used one before, I’m pleased with the experience. I plan to use it more often than my main monitor because I multitask a lot, and the large screen gives me the freedom to do so.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIf like me you work with Excel files all day then you’ll find this monitor a game changer.

Nice crisp picture and I believe the curved surface reduces eye strain. I could have a excel file that contains 20 columns of information open at 90% and see all columns, my old 22″ monitor that would have been 50%.

I have tried it with gaming on my old PS4 and found the picture quality excellent with a pretty good refresh rate, though with my old eyes I can’t really tell the difference unless it’s really really bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great monitor and not just for gaming

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor the last few years, I’ve used a monitor without built-in speakers. On a small desk, I found the need for external speakers tiresome, so when it came to buying a new monitor, I decided to get one with built in audio.

I wish I hadn’t bothered. The screen itself is nice enough. And will be great for what I am using the computer for. But the speakers sound like a cheap transistor radio; words cannot describe how awful they are.

So I guess I am back to using external speakers.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe display itself is amazing, using a DP cable I’m getting 165hz which is so smooth and the amd freesync feature is just so helpful, I would of have rated it 5 stars but the only thing letting this monitor down is the speakers

My grandson always complained when he came to mine when he was playing his Xbox that the monitor was rubbish so I got this proper gaming monitor and now the first he says is put Xbox on gramps he plays it all the time. He says it’s brilliant and with really sharp colours and he loves the curved screen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good picture

You can easily pay a lot more for a monitor in this category, and while this may not quite match up to the most expensive models, as far as value for money goes, this will probably have them all beat. This offers good connectivity, excellent picture quality, and good looks with it. Certified worth consider.

Two display port and two hdmi connections all high refresh rate make this a good choice with a 1500R curve the screen really looks good and is immersive. It includes AMD freesync technology this combined with the 1ms MPRT response time makes for a smooth experience and quite frankly for the money you won’t get bette

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe UG27Q monitor is great work use or as gaming monitor. The image quality and refresh rate are great and work well for large spreadsheets or games as well.
I’ve actually used it for my home office and it is working a treat. A great feature is the strong connections, with two HDMI 2.0 and two DisplayPort 1.4 input ports, making it easy to connect multiple devices at the same time. Really easy, out of the box, plug and play set up. Comes well packaged as well.
Image quality is excellent, and it has a low blue light feature so easy on the eyes. I’ve actually swapped a well known brand for this (albeit an old model) and I am very happy, and it is making it easier for me to work long hours at home. Great for movies, Netflix, etc, really good quality.
It is very lightweight and thin, which is another bonus as I had a very heavy product before, this is larger but I feel like I have more space. The curving is immersive and really enhances the product, wouldn’t go back to a non-curved monitor.
Really great, and great value, monitor for a variety of uses.

At time of review, price was 189.99 so I doubt you’d get a better specified model at this price point.
My son is the gamer and has a 43″ 4k hdr tv for his playstation and xbox but wanted a separate monitor for his gaming laptop to replace his current 23″ one.
He used it for much of last night and is delighted with it – resolution is excellent and he likes the curve (I’m guessing curved screens are now just for gamers as I don’t think you can even buy curved tvs any more – might be wrong).
Looks really good with very thin bezels sides and top and the fairly typical bigger bezel at the bottom.
He had it set up as he wanted within minutes so must be simple to do.
Happy to recommend, no issues whatsoever.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersIn the world of working from home, I was sorely needing a second monitor. I’m thoroughly pleased that I picked this monitor to be my second monitor. The actual video quality from this monitor is fantastic. The quality has certainly blown me away. The colors are very vibrant and it’s sharp. Check out the video – It should speak for itself.

    Pros:
    – Great video quality.
    – Has AMD Freesync! I haven’t tried it out though.
    – Slim and low profile
    – VESA mounting!
    – Has Speakers – Can be used as a standalone TV if you input a video source. Video has the monitor playing the music.

    Indifferent:
    – The buttons are physical push buttons locateded on the back of the panel with labels on the front. While I would’ve preferred the slicker soft touch buttons seen on other monitors, some may prefer the physical buttons. To be honest, since the buttons are hidden, I don’t even care about this.
    – The stand was a bit difficult to install as it needed a decent amount of force. But I just used the stand to test it and then immediately VESA mounted it.

    Areas of improvement:
    – The UI system initially made me think I had a defective monitor! If you have no video coming into the monitor, it will briefly turn on and then immediately turn off! You cannot use the menu without a video input and the monitor doesn’t idle at all without a video input! I guess it’s a power saving feature but I initially thought the monitor was dead because of an issue with my computer!
    – Turns on slightly slower than my other monitor, but it’s not a huge deal and I’ve gotten used to it.

Overall, this was a fantastically well-priced monitor that has absolutely exceeded my expectations.
