The Autoglym ceramic wash and protect is a great product that goes a long way if you follow the dilution ratios. Does a great job of cleaning the car and leaves it looking beautiful afterwards.
As with every Autoglym product i’ve ever tried, this shampoo is fantastic. The ceramic coating it adds to the paint creates very satisfying beading. Just don’t let it dry on the paint! I found this out the hard way and had to buff the roof afterwards.
The last time I used an all-in-one wash and protect product was probably 30 or so years ago, washing my dad’s car with Turtle Wax. I don’t remember that ever leaving a particularly great shine, or any beading to speak of, but then it was all a lot more basic; a cheap yellow sponge, single bucket and a ratty old chamois. None of your lambswool wash mitts, pre-wash foams, or two buckets with grit guards.
I wasn’t that keen on this Ceramic Wash and Protect the first time I used it; the lack of bubbles is a bit disconcerting, and it feels a bit like using the QuikRefresh, that sense of dragging dirt across the paint. I normally use the UHD Shampoo, and in comparison, this stuff leaves the wash mitt much dirtier. It’s definitely worth doing a pre-wash with the Polar Blast or something similar if you have the time/lack of a social life.
The advantage of the Ceramic Wash however is the instant beading of water and the quicker drying time. You also get the benefit of the coating across the whole car, rather than just doing the paintwork separately afterwards. I’ve used this a few times now and there is a decent depth of shine to the paintwork, and the beading lasted longer than I would have expected. To be fair, I had used the Rapid Ceramic Spray a couple of weeks before, so there is maybe some residual benefit from that.
Two slight issues; firstly the use of the term ‘Ceramic’ seems more like a marketing thing, as it’s a long way from being a ‘true’ permanent ceramic coating, and secondly the aroma is pretty close to being ‘artificial banana’, which is never a good thing.
This Autoglym Ceramic Wash and Protect, 1L –Triple Action Ceramic Car Shampoo does what is says e.g Cleans,Protects And Leaves High Gloss Finish. It is Concentrated Formula so you don’t need much. Which is a good thing as it is costly .
Have tried a few Ceramic Wash products, my last go to was from Auto Finesse but this wins hands down. From just a small dose you get a very effective wash which has a small amount of foam, smells great and leaves a hydrophobic surface. My wife’s car hadn’t been cleaned in serval months, used this today and couldn’t believe it was beading up after one wash!
