Can recommend.
Just hope i haven’t got type 2 diabetes
Assuracy – Not sure. But I can see its consitent with results (Taken within few minutes apart)
With regards to accuracy I have nothing to compare it too, however I am not a diabetic but it is a condition paternally and maternally in my family so on occasion I do like to check my blood especially if I am feeling light headed /dizzy.
The talking voice for the results is clear and a good feature especially, I suppose, if you were visually impaired.
It stores a few of your prev. readings (can’t accurately remember how much but it could be about 10)then deletes the oldest ones.
There is a box of lances but the box do not fit in the pouch so, as you can see from my pic, I pack a few lance instead.
I personally would recommend this particular one however I do not have diabetes.
This kit is easy to use and I have found it to be reliable. It has been so useful. Lets me keep an eye on my blood sugar levels. I had a couple of ‘warning’ levels and the GP told me that I was heading towards possible pre-diabetes. This little, neat monitor allows me to be in control, makes me focus on a low sugar/low carb diet. Now I have repeatable, normal readings. I use this to keep me on track and to check if I should have a weekend /holiday that I haven’t ‘strayed off the path’!
I bought this to test my blood sugar level, I had a few problems to start with, I was not getting the edge of the tip into the blood sample. Eventually I got it to give answers. The review asked if it is accurate, well I bought the test solutions to check that, but cannot because the test solutions do not say what answer you should get with them, I can use the monitor to look for differences in my sugar level as I change my life style, but I will not know what the actual level of my blood sugar is because the monitor is not calibrated.
I also came close to a high end blood sugar monitor.
However do not expect blood lab accuracy. The European standard is only plus or minus 15%. And, this device would appear to come withing that.
It’s very easy to use.
Things I didn’t like:
No app and only stores the last four readings.
No ability to add a note or icon such as fasting, before a meal, after a meal.
The lancettes are just sharp fine wire not a ‘sharpened lancette’. However they are the same size as Bauer’s as used in the Contour Nextdevices and those are properly sharpened lancettes which have a very low pain level.
A higher end device only costs some 10.00 more. And, such a device comes with Bluetooth syc. and app. bigger memory and the ability to make comments.
So in summary this is a very good basic device and it can be relied upon. It is not my preferred choice.
I bought this device as I was diagnosed a pre-diabetic. I worked with our practice
Nurse & my GP in working out my new diet intake; I cut down completely on chocolates
& things like fruit juices – which have quite a lot of added sugar. I kept an eye on my blood sugar levels with the changes in my diet. I have now reversed my diagnosis. If after lancing you don’t get enough blood sample, there is a tip in the user manual which enables you to do that. Its very worthwhile watching the video because it’ll show you exactly how to apply blood on the test strip. The blood goes in the absorbent channel in the test strip until it is full. The LED light indicator on the meter & the Blood Glucose Indicator Card are very helpful in determining your results. A good aid to keep your blood sugar level in range.
The lance does not hurt and you can set the depth you want the needle to penetrate. There is no control solution needed, which is a bonus. My sister has a tester which needs control solution. Twice we immediately repeated the test on each other to compare results. For both of us, they were identical, so it is clearly accurate. The only downside is that the case could be bigger to be able to fit the test strips and lancets, however, a minor and inconsequential negative, not worthy of knocking off a star! I definitely recommend it!
I took my blood sugar level reading which comes in at 4.7 and 4.5 respectively, which I can say is reasonably close and accurate enough. There is also a colour coded glucose indicator card to help you interpret your reading/s as to the severity of the result.
I will glad recommend this glucometer.
I have just been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes & so I brought the Sinocare Blood Glucose Meter so that I could keep an eye on my blood sugar on a daily basis. I have found it to be very accurate based on using it just after having blood tests & got the same results. It’s fairly easy to use, I would say it took me a couple of times to get used to doing it but now I have been using it for 3/4wks it’s second nature. I have found that I have to have the pen set on 6 to get a gd bleed but I guess it will vary depending on the individual. The complaint I do have is it wasn’t clear when I purchased it that you need Control Solution so you can set up and test the device before you use it. Otherwise I am extremely pleased with it and would recommend it.
It is really easy to use, looks OK and it is easy to carry if you need to. I have nothing to compare the readings to, so I cannot judge the accuracy. The readings are usually stable (more than expected) but sometimes I get unexpectedly high results. It is my first test kit though, so it might be a lack of experience.
The speaking feature is quite unnecessary in my view, it would only provide added value if you were totally blind as the display is large enough and easy to read. So probably I would not pay any extra for that again…
The quick-start instructions and the more-detailed user manual were easy to understand and I was able to make my first blood test within minutes of opening the pack. A little trial and error was required to find the optimum setting for drawing sufficient blood from a finger, but it was a painless process and the result was rapidly announced on the Smart Meter.
I had forgotten to buy some control solution (since ordered) to check that the device was correctly calibrated, so – although the results seemed to be in the correct range, I can’t yet be sure of their accuracy.
The voice reminder and spoken results seemed useful, but were probably an unnecessary extra because the results were clearly displayed in large letters on the meter and there is a memory function too should you need to double-check.
The kit was well presented in a box containing the meter, lancing device, manuals and, surprisingly, two AAA batteries (which the description specifically states are not included!). The meter, lancing pen and batteries were in a little zipped storage bag – which would have been significantly more useful as a carrying bag if it had been larger and capable of holding a box of lancets and one tub of test strips too. Annoyingly, the supplied lancets and test strips have to be carried separately.
Overall, however, this Chinese-made kit appears to be made up of good-quality equipment that will enable me to monitor my blood sugar levels quickly, easily and painlessly.
