I have a black one which I’ve had for 3 years, never needed to change the battery and still works like a charm. Bought this one for a colour change and works like a dream. Always recommend this watch to my colleagues.
My ten-year-old daughter loves this watch, especially the stop watch function. The orange colour is lovely and vibrant, true to the image – and the strap is comfortable and very easy to use.
I only wear a watch when I am teaching to make sure I end classes on time. This one does the job perfectly and my 2 year old daughter thinks it looks wonderful!
Looks great – had loads of compliments. The only problem is the strap has started to discolour (rubbing on office desk below my wrists etc). The strap now looks tired and worn and I’ve not had it for that long really. I’ve tried cleaning it but nothing seems to get it off.
Great value and fun wristwatch. Only downside is the strap has very quickly discoloured. Not sure if it’s colour transferring from clothes but I haven’t found a way of getting it clean and replacement straps are not value for money- cheaper to buy a new watch.
Cool little Casio watch, bought for holiday to swim with and love the orange colour. Still using, very light. Very small in size for adult but I don’t mind. Does the job for low price
Comfortable. There are many holes to adjust to most wrist sizes. Practical, its not fancy but its just what I need for my job. I like a simple casio but this time I wanted a bright colour rather than black.
Unfortunately I ordered blue and instead received a bright pink one. Even the packaging that it came in is labeled blue. My amazon orders are freight forwarded by ship to my home so there’s no way to return it, even if I had received it within the returns window. It is not the end of the world, but I would have preferred blue.
I now own four of the available F91 liveries: original black, cyan, the rare dark green and now the pink one reviewed here.
Friends often think me somewhat, erm, eccentric, but I’m all about the accessorising and, when the need arose for a pink watch, it had to be another F91.
This one is so far running at the same level of accuracy as all of the others; not perfect but perfectly fine at the price and just like the others, this one is running very slightly fast which beats a slow running timepiece every time. The error looks like being roughly +1 second per fortnight (like with like comparison with another F91 whose accuracy has been known for a long time would show a noticeable difference within a day) and bear in mind that I bought this because it’s pink, so I shall overlook any concerns relating to being a few seconds late for work over a year!
Minor niggles? Only the one which is that the strap is a very slightly darker shade than the case. Otherwise, I knew what I was buying and am yet again delighted with my F91. I can overlook the famously poor back-light but if you need a Casio that’s easy to see in darkness, look at the slightly larger models which carry the word “illuminator” on their cases.
Summary:
It’s very pink, it’s a Casio F91 and I’m liking it a lot.
Thinking of buying one? Just do it! Some reviews have questioned whether F91s from Amazon are genuine. They absolutely are.
Beware of buying an F91 from sources other than Amazon, Argos, Casio’s own site or Creation watches, fakes are very good these days and the usual checks have become known to the people who make such things, so are mostly no longer proof of a fake one.
Details that the fakers haven’t caught up with yet:
Real F91 rear cover screws are slotted and have a fitting for a cross head screwdriver, fakes tend to use ordinary Cross head screws. Fakes rarely reproduce the crispness of the lettering and the clarity of the display, characteristics that give a superior appearance to a real F91, even under a loupe or other strong magnifying devices.
Also, only the real ones, as sold by Amazon and other retailers listed above, have that utterly dependable module and lack the odd smell of the straps on fakes, real Casios on their resin straps have no detectable odours.
I’d buy from Amazon every time, because their F91s come in a decent cardboard box, a small detail as it’s the contents of the box we’re after, but Argos (also 100% genuine) supply the F91 in a very basic plastic sleeve.
I got this is in the post this morning, I love the different colours there are of these f-91w casio watches.. Great price, im not all about expensive watches or the showy kind. Im about simple retro vintage. Its beautiful to wear. I’ve not tested it on water yet. But it fits comfortably and easy to work and navigate instructions. I also own a timex iron-man triathlon sports watch. So its nice to have a watch I can wear for general purposes.
I love it . Its gives nostalgia feels
The watch is great it’s small enough for me but I will say the light on it is rubbish it’s so dim not worth wasting battery using it. If you are looking for a watch which must have good light I wouldn’t recommend this. Apart from that it’s a nice watch, hence my 4sta
Arrived promptly (next day prime), this is clearly an authentic Casio product complete with correct packaging, high quality production/construction (made in Thailand): perfect screen alignment & letter detailing, no digit letter shadowing or fade at angle, quality strap finish & letter detailing on buckle + authentic “CASIo” digital screen display (hold 3 sec lower right button). A minimalist, retro, affordable & unpretentious classic with an ‘interesting’ reputation. Functional 12/24hr display w.date, 20s alarm, 1hr stopwatch/timer (I use this for timing my usual running route), hourly beep (turned off or on), so light & comfortable you’ll forget you’re wearing it + following on from previous comments this does fit my male (albeit slimmer) wrist with 4 holes to spare. Back light is characteristically weak but I think that adds character. Yellow mustard colour can be dressed up or down, probably the most desirable colour of the ‘collectible’ range imo, and is in its own way a fashion statement. Liked it enough to buy a second one in military green (F-91WM-3A) for other attire. No comment on battery life, long-term durability or water resistance at this point, will update later.
Okay, so if you’re into watches that are a little less ordinary and fun go for one of these. Now, I’ve read other reviews where folks have said they fade and turn funny colours, but hey ho, life is poo. Enjoy the watch for as long as you have it and if it fades or becomes less than what you’ve expected it to be, throw it on the floor and jump on it repeatedly until you hear a smashing sound. Okay, don’t do that. I am a fan of the simplicity of Casio watches, partly because me younger sister Hayleigh-Joy always buys them. She’s quite cool, so I thought, be like Hayleigh-joy, so here I am. Love my watch. It’s mens but I am not a man, so why not list it as unisex or maybe just a watch for all.
I love this watch and it does everything I need it to; tells me the time, tells me the date (and day), has a light, is waterproof, looks fab, isn’t big and bulky, battery lasts years and it looks great too.
I only bought this as my battered 15+ year old one (same model and colour) accidentally got lost in town with the help of a light fingered 4 yr old.
I’ve owned many watches but they fell out of favour pretty quick as this Casio F-91W seems to be th eonly watch for me. I’m wearing it right now.
If i was trying to fault it I would say the light isn’t really fit for purpose, however as a nostalgic piece its great and exactly like I remembered as a kid. I actually gave mine to my 12 year old daughter and she is really happy with it, it just looked too small on my wrist and my wrists aren’t that big. I’ll stick with my G-shock which rocks it.
I am only reviewing this one as it is a replacement of my last one. On that one (bought years ago) the strap is now very discoloured and brittle with the little strap band that holds the wrist strap that has finally split down the sides after so much use, the plastic is starting to degrade but the watch face is totally fine and still works no problem. I bought the last one in 2011 and I think I’ve changed the battery once in that time (time of writing this is June 2019!)
I have worn it repeatedly in the shower, bath, whilst snorkelling, in waterfalls, lakes, the sea, and worn it in full blazing hot sunshine up to temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius and its never had a problem coping. Its been covered in sweat, bug spray and sun cream on more occasions than I can count and this has never stopped its functionality. Its practically indestructible.
No idea why this is called a mens watch in the description, they are all the same strap length and styles, just the colours are different. I am female and have slim wrists and it fits me fine. I’m sure you can get longer strap lengths for people with huge wrists.
This has been such a solid friend on all sorts of trips, its one of the best purchases I’ve ever made on Amazon. I highly recommend.
My heart beat so fast when I found this gem of a watch on Amazon. I’ve not been very successful with modern watches and having a slight skin condition where my skin reacts badly with metal this watch is everything I remember and so much more.
First of all the colour is amazing, a subtle yellow that blends in with my skin tone beautifully.
The plastic flexes well when I twist my arm, walk fast and then there’s the amazing features of the watch itself.
Although the light is rather dull and hardly lights up the display it’s nothing compared to the amazing features of displaying the time, date, month, subtly beeps to signal each hour, has an ease of use when setting the alarm and the best bit is the stop watch feature!
I have a little girl who loves to race and time everything so this watch brings me back to my childhood and the fun times I had with racing friends on go karts!
It’s retro in style, a good price and my little girl now wants one!
A strong and stable watch which I will love forever.
I bought this watch purely as a backup, should my main watch battery fail or should I loose or damage it. I did not want to spend a lot of money otherwise it would have defeated the object in the first place. I choose the colour as my currant watch is black and I thought orange was ‘funky’.
The watch itself is surprisingly functional with all the modes I would or could need. It looks like it will survive an hours swim at my local pool so I won’t have to take it of before hand. My main watch is a g-shock which I have had for years and is bulky, which it needs to be. The F11 is slim and light, but I’m not sure if it would stand up to the treatment I would normally give a watch.
When I do wear it and should I brake it during normal use, I will just buy another and probably the same colour as I don’t think purple will suit me!
Only a dad would laugh at me for buying this so-called ‘toy’, as opposed to a proper watch. What is a proper watch, dad? Who knows, but what I do know is that at this price, it’s a cheap and fun reminder of my childhood – when bringing to school a watch with lots of buttons was oddly fascinating. As noted by earlier reviewers, the watch colour is slightly paler than what you see on the photo, but I think this was to be expected given how artificial the photo’s are. The watch still looks vibrant however, and can be made even more so with its ‘Light’ function that, as always, only lights the left edge of the screen brightly. The time is still legible, however.
To me and suppose many others, this is all part of the charm of the Casio. That after all these years, something as simple as a backlight hasn’t even been redesigned, let alone any other part of the timepieces design (including its sweet ‘Beep’ sound!) But of course, this Casio is part of a simple new range that replaces the metal bracelet (link) wrist strap with a one-piece plastic design – very smooth and definitely comfortable (certainly more so than any bracelet strap I’ve worn before!) In terms of fit, I have no problems with the length of the straps and I think if any complaints are to be made about it, its just that the reason it can appear short when putting the watch on is simply because the strap isn’t as supple as, say, cheap leather.
Apart from the former example, I’ve had nothing but compliments and definitely considering another purchase. As I’ve yet to test out its 30m Water Resistance, I won’t comment on the matter but should I get the Casio in another colour, I’d probably be more tempted to test it.
Features in full:
– Clock (12hr and 24hr)
– Calendar (Day, Month and Date)
– Stopwatch, with Split Lap timing
– Alarm
I’ve had this watch for just over 2 months now and I’m fairly pleased with it. The time is easy to set and read. The date feature and also the stopwatch are also useful. I haven’t used the alarm feature yet, but I’m confident it would be easy to do and would work well. The light does not light up the whole screen (pretty much just the left hand side) but I’ve found this is enough to make the watch readable in the dark. The yellow colour shown in the picture is a fairly accurate representation, and I think it’s a nice twist on the classic black F-91. The only (small) problem I have with this watch is that the strap has started to discolour slightly (only at the edges)where it has picked up colour from my clothing. The yellow colour on the watch face remains unchanged. It’s not particularly noticeable but I have been unable to get rid of the discolouration with Fairy Liquid or Swarfega. You could always go for the black version if this is a problem, as I imagine that the same discolouration occurs on the other new colour versions. I guess it’s the price you pay for having a yellow watch! I’d still recommend it, and for the money you can’t really complain.
I bought this watch on the basis that a) I love retro Casio gadgets, and b) wanted something cheap but good looking and functional as I will be going travelling for 3 months and dont want to take my expensive watch. So far I am completely satisfied with the product, mini review below:
LOOKS:
– Best part of the watch really.. classic retro Casio looks. Colour co-ordination is perfect; agree it looks a little more matt coloured in real life (less bright) than the photos, but it still looks damn good.
FUNCTIONALITY:
– Pretty much as is really.. very basic but that is all I need. Tells the time, date, has an alarm and stop-clock. And of course being a Casio, it will be as reliable as anything and will wont go wrong any time soon. Amazing good for the price of the watch really.
– A couple of things do need to be mentioned though; the light is utterly rubbish; the sort that only lights up the left-hand side of the watch!! I cant see this being a major issue though as it does light up enough to see when in pitch darkness. It reminds me of the old Casio I had years ago so in a strange way, it is part of the character of the watch! The second thing is that the strap is rather flimsy and not sure how long it will last. On the plus, it looks very water-proof.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this watch. My brother bought the white/grey version and looks equally as awesome, I would probably choose that one as 2nd best looking over the yellow one. Cant get a better watch at this price in my opinion.
