Perfect size sheets that are strong and flexible to enable cutting with tin snips! I get 3 bases per sheet for my Lego & MOC cars display boxes. Now there’s no more dusting and great displays!
I usually hate cheap Lego knock-offs – they often don’t connect well and then get mixed up with your real Lego and never look right. However, I have to say, these bases are impressive. They’re sturdy, the (real) bricks stick well and (apart from the logo) it’s very hard to tell the difference. Official base plates cost a fortune these days and, to be honest, you can get away with these with no obvious drawbacks. Very good.
The delight and charm of building block type products, like this one, is how they enable children to explore and use their creativity in so many different way. And if you want to make a big project – either one big building or, say, something like a zoo or circus, you need a big solid base for your project to be anchored.
These baseplates are ideal. They are really big and I like that you get two of each of the three colours (grey – for city streets, etc., blue – for the sea or sky, green – for gardens or forests, etc.) Again, something just to give that bit more scope to the imagination.
I haven’t heard of the brand ‘Etarnfly’ before but they say these are compatible with ‘all major brands’ – let’s be honest, they mean LEGO! A household that doesn’t have a bucket of LEGO bricks somewhere about the place is tantamount to a a deprived childhood, in my opinion! I happened to have a few LEGO bricks to hand so I tried them out on these baseplates and I am happy to say they fitted perfectly; went on squarely, attached securely and weren’t inordinately difficult to detach. So, if your kids or grandchildren have a collection of LEGO bricks about the place, you can buy these baseplates for them to build onto knowing they really are compatible.
For 22 we ordered 6 base plates size 10″ x 25″, 2 each of blue green and grey, suitable for building extensive models and you can join them together with small bricks. They are compatible with all the popular small plastic building bricks but they are not as firm and sturdy as the usual branded product bases. Fine for home use but unlikely to stand up to heavy classroom building.
