The Feizeisun Seed Trays arrived as described and looks like the photo advertised (minus the plants ofcourse).
I got this for my wild garden, I live in a very windy location and I don’t have a greenhouse to get seeds going. Over the years I’ve tried many different ways to propagate seeds with little success.
When I saw this product I thought I’d give it a try as it creates a mini greenhouse for the seeds to thrive. I have been using it for 2 months now and my sunflowers, sweet peas and pansies are all doing fantastic! It’s so nice to see the growth!
I love that this product comes as a 12 pack as it means you can separate each plant into categories and label them. The boxes are large enough to get the seeds going but compact enough that you can sit them on a windowsill. It’s great you can open the vent at the top to allow air to circulate.
The lids secure on to the base well and creates a perfect closure. I’ve bought some trays in the past that didn’t fit well together which defeated the purpose.
I’m very impressed with the quality and performance of these seed trays and I’m happy to recommend it to anyone
I bought these as I usually get the same thing from the supermarket/ my results for growing have been mediocre at best – but so far every pod has yielded a good crop. I can’t wait for summer my garden will be an explosion of home grown delights.
hese have been great for growing seedlings in for our allotment. these been sat on the window sill in the conservatory for lots of light and warmth. the box lids have a turntable vent hole on the top for airflow/moisture and warmth retention. the inner plastic dividers do crush easily if you handle them too firmly. so i was advised to let them grow enough to lift them out gently by the stems rather than push them out from the bottom.
These do the job but could be better. The lids just sit on the top quite loosely and the plastic is quite thin. I reckon if left exposed these will become quite brittle in time. The mini tools that come with are quite handy though and the holes in the bottom of the inserts are hand if you need to water from the base.
Fairly decent quality seed trays that are well thought out in terms of design.
Comes with the lids, 12 separate compartment/liner trays and a few tools that are great for use in your greenhouse. They stack away nicely and don’t take too much room too!
Not used these yet but first saw them at a friends and they looked sturdy and very user friendly. This is why I purchased them. Well packed and quick delivery. Very satisfied.
For almost a decade, I’ve used the more traditional opaque seedling trays and had to guess the compost moisture levels and roots condition – I’ve not always gotten it right. I’m really looking forward to being able to see what’s going on with the compost and roots condition of my Tomato, Courgette and Green Bean etc seedlings by using these clear seedling trays. So obvious in hindsight.
The seed tray set came neatly and compactly packaged in a reasonably strong cardboard box. That’s useful for storing the trays until you need them.
The green PET base trays and clear PET covers are quite sturdy, which should last years with gentle handling. The individual 12-seedling trays have about an A5 footprint, so are small enough to arrange neatly in a larger tray, if required.
The clear seedling trays appear to also be made of PET, just thinner for easing out the rooted seedling plugs. The bottom is quite stiff – I doubt that they’d crumple quite so convincingly as the product picture shows – not without disintegrating the root ball, but they are flexible enough to gently squeeze the sides of each plug and ease the plug out, hopefully. I think if they’d been made of clear polypropylene, they would have been more flexible at the bottom. When inserted in the Base Trays, there’s about 5mm/0.25″ of clearance for excess water to drain.
The vented cover is a nice inclusion. It has about 50mm/2″ clearance for the seedlings, so you’ll either need to remove the cover or pot the seedlings on quite soon after the first true leaves show, especially with a vigorous grower like Green Beans or Courgettes. The roots will be questing anyway, but at least you’ll be able to see what’s happening with them 🙂
The two dibbers provided are quite good and look reasonably strong.
The twenty plastic plant tags have a matte finish for easier labelling.
Pros :
Clear seedling trays for root/moisture inspection
Sturdy Base and Cover
Cover Vent
Drain holes and drain off/reservoir clearance
Useful accessory Dibbers and Tags
Reasonable Price
Cons:
Inner clear seedling tray bottoms could be softer for gentler plug expulsion
In summary, a good quality Seedling Tray set which is an improvement on traditional opaque seedling trays due to being able to see root and compost conditions.
