This kitchen hob cover is a perfect fit, it goes over it just right and it’s also nonslip which is very handy. I usually cover it to prevent scratches from my cat and it’s also more safe in case she turns it on by accident. You can cut vegetables on top of the mat.

Having a small kitchen, I often struggle with counter space. This hob cover has been a practical solution, providing additional room for meal preparation while protecting my stovetop. It handles heat well, allowing me to place hot pans directly on it without worry. The anti-slip feature is beneficial, keeping everything in place. Cleaning is a breeze; a quick wipe down or a run through the dishwasher gets the job done. It’s also been a preventive measure against scratches and spills, which is excellent for maintaining the stovetop’s pristine condition.

I’ve been using the Kitchenraku Hob Cover for a little over two weeks now, and I’m thoroughly impressed! The design is simply stunning, adding a touch of elegance to my kitchen. The material quality is excellent, and it feels durable. It fits my electric cooker like a glove, providing reliable protection against scratches. Overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone in need of a stylish and practical hob cove

I never even knew these Hob covers were a thing until I saw this one and now I am a convert. I thought it would simply be something to stop the hob getting scratched and that it would probably end up being a bit of a nuisance which I would soon give up on and discard. However, not so.

Yes, it covers and protects the hob, but it also adds extra work surface, so I can plate up food or use the space to prepare other things. It is easy to clean, and quite heavy and substantial. The main surprise though, was how attractive it is. The photographic quality of the fruit and vegetables depicted on the cover is fantastic, really vivid, realistic and almost 3d. It makes the work surface bright and cheerful and really nice to look at. As I said before, I am now a convert – highly recommended.

You can place “hot” items ON the mat, but you can’t put the mat on a hot cooker. It say is can withstand temperatures of up to 400F, but that is for things being placed on top of the mat, and not underneath the mat.

We are using the mat on the ceramic hob once the hob has cooled down and the HOT light has gone off and we’ve not had any problems with it at all. As long as we don’t need to use the hob for cooking, it certainly gives us more surface area to put things on, and less worrying about scratching or chipping the glass surface of the hob. And it looks a lot nicer than a plain black cover does.

It comes with two loops for hanging it up and a rubbery strip that can curl around the rolled up cover to hold it together.

It is more expensive than a lot of its competitors, so loses a star for that. Otherwise, it is the same 2mm thickness as others, it does the job and it looks much nicer. 4 stars from me and if you like the look rather than a plain black cover, then go for it. Oh, it is dishwasher safe too.

This is better than I anticipated, it has a descent amount of weight to it so it sits on my induction hob and only moves when you try and mover it. The top surface wipes clean easily I spilled some cornflour on it and it came of with one wipe and no residue. I use the two loops on the long edge to hang it behind the hob when using it so it also double as a splashback.

I have a gas cooker with lid that belongs in a museum it’s that old, it’s not been used in years and I’m now in the process of getting rid of it completely due to not needing to use it because of my air fryer, pressure cooker, microwave etc. This cover is the perfect size to cover it up and give me more workspace. it is quite thin, but strong and will stand up to hot pots and pans and the like taken out of the air fryer etc. I love the colourful design of it, it looks really good in its place, and the non slip backing makes it stay put, it is easily cleaned if I spill anything on it, could be used as a mat for many things in the home. Really happy with the quality, design, material, what it does and can do and it does look great.

While this hob cover certainly does its job, once in place, it really looks like something that would not look out of place in your Nanna’s kitchen. That is to say that it’s far from being in any way stylish or contemporary (apologies to all the Nannas reading this!), and feels so 1980s!

Turned over, however, so that the plain black side is uppermost, this makes a very good heatproof mat that’s large enough to accommodate all the pans and baking dishes used by your Nanna when she makes Sunday lunch. It’s great for protecting worktops, and pretty good for placing all the hot dishes on at the dining table, too.

Despite my gentle mocking of its gaudy print, this is actually a pretty good heatproof mat, although I’m still not sure why you’d want to use it to protect your hob from pots and pans, when that’s precisely what the hob was designed to be used with!

(And you can’t use it to chop food on, as it will become easily damaged.)

I’m amused by the claim that this cover stops cats from damaging your cooker… clearly this is aimed at mad cat-lady Nannas… because who else would allow a cat on the cooker?!

    4.0 out of 5 stars Total Nanna-Swag!

I got this to cover my gas hob when it’s not in use, as it has a glass lid & I want to be able to use that as a work surface in my kitchen because my kitchen isn’t very big, but I have a lot of stuff in it.

It’s currently laid on top of my small (50cm) gas cooker, but that’s being replaced next month with another glass lid gas cooker, so although the stove protector is currently too big, it won’t be too big for my full sized new cooker,

I have used it to place plates as I’m serving up & it protects the glass lid, so it’s definitely added to my workable surfaces in my kitchen & it didn’t cost a lot, so I’m very happy – I might buy myself a different design just to ring the changes occasionally, but I do love this brightly coloured friut & veggies one.
