Purchased 2 of these sets so I could build woth my 11 year old daughter during easter school holidays. They are wonderful sets that are going to be hung in her bedroom eitherside of her main window.

Postage was quick and courteous Delivery People. Highly recommend.

My 13 year old daughter had a lovely time making these over a couple of evenings. The end result is pretty and she is pleased. They look nice in her bedroom now as decorations

    Would recommend.

Wall mounted Lego set which is absolutely stunning. Probably the most unique Lego set I own. Really clear instructions but it does take some time and there are a few fiddly bits. Really loved building this

Now it has to be said that we are a complete family of Lego nuts in this household and have amassed an enormous collection of the brightly coloured bricks over the years. We always try to leave unbiased reviews and I will be honest and say that, as much as we love our Lego, not all sets are created equally. We have had a few horrendously designed sets in the past which, to be fair, isn’t usually the case so we were expecting good things from this set. We have previously purchased a number of these adult oriented sets and all in all we generally think that they are really good and allow your imaginative and creative skills to flourish! Lego have succeeded here in creating yet another good set with this latest offering, the Lego Art Fauna Collection – Macaw Parrots. Here is our collective family feedback and final thoughts having been playing with the set for a good few weeks now.

The set, allows you to build and display two exotic and differently coloured Macaw parrots, one pink and turquoise and one yellow with turquoise tips. Both look great when fully assembled and if you display on any wall this set will undoubtedly draw some attention and commentary from visitors to your home. You receive a good amount of everyone’s favourite plastic bricks in this set, no less than 644 pieces in fact! At a retail price of just under 44.99 that represents fairly decent value for money and works out to be approx. 7 pence per piece, especially considering if you were to try to order the same parts direct from Legos ‘pick a brick’ service, it would undoubtedly cost a fair bit more. Now one complaint from me here would be that you do not exactly have a huge plethora of colours or variety of shapes in this set and when building both birds I found the whole experience, if I am being completely honest, rather uninspiring and a little flat. There are no complex or difficult build elements but rather there appears to be a lot of repetitive steps in the process, for example, when building the pink and turquoise parrots wings. Usually when I am building any set I really find myself fully immersed in the whole experience, but with this set, for once I found myself feeling frustrated and eagerly awaiting something new. Disappointingly that something new just doesn’t materialise throughout the build and when you have finally finished and step back, you can feel a little bit. meh. That’s incredibly unusual for me and personally I feel that the creative journey you go through in constructing any set is easily half the reason Lego is so popular and a huge draw for builders everywhere. I don’t want this statement to detract from the overall finished design here though, as to be fair to Lego, both parrots look really good, and when displayed make a bold statement. Speaking of display options, this set is meant to be wall mounted and without some creativity or a bespoke display stand this is really your only option to showcase this product.

Overall I have say that this is a reasonably good set. It’s unfortunately not the most interesting to build however the subject matter presents a glimmer of hope that Lego may opt to continue to expand this theme of set, much like they have with their Fauna collection. If that’s the case then there could be some very interesting pieces to come. Speculation aside though, as a stand-alone and statement piece, it does the job well and would look great on any wall space in your home. One star removed from me purely due to the rather dull and repetitive build otherwise all is good here.

4.0 out of 5 stars Looks awesome when complete but a somewhat tedious build

This is a huge and lovely Lego set that’s aimed at adults but could be for younger ages too. The Lego kit comes in a cardboard box which you have to tear slightly to open and inside there are eight plastic bags with various Lego pieces in them as well as two instruction booklets. Each instruction booklet is for a different parrot (one yellow, the other pink) and there is an introduction in the yellow parrot booklet which explains all about how you can enjoy making these asthetically pleasing parrots and then hang them on your wall.

You can tackle this kit on your own, or as the instruction booklet sugges, with a friend, hence the reason for having two booklets. I like how this kit can be enjoyed together and is aimed at adults because, as I’m sure everyone will agree, when you grow up you don’t stop loving lego just because your a grown up! 😀 This kit makes it feel like a cross between having fun with lego and creating art. Each instruction booklet contains colourful diagrams only, with no words to explain which parts go where. They explain which bag to open and what pieces to put together and where to place them and even though there are no words it is so easy to understand and follow. The pink parrot booklet has a list of all the lego pieces you should have in this kit which is good as you can make sure you won’t be disappointed if somethign is missing. The only thing I would have preferred as a written explanation in the booklet though is info on how to hang them up as this confused me at the beginning though I understand it now.

There are so many different bags of pieces to create these two parrots and the biggest thing about these parrots compared to a lot of other Lego kits out there is that once finished both parrots are smooth without the typical ‘LEGO’ buttons on the top of the pieces. They are also quite flat making this a lovely piece of artwork you could display in your home if you wish to. Each bag comes with all the parts you need and I like how the smallest of pieces are contained inside another bag within each numbered bag helping you not to lose them when you first open these up.

Overall this is a lovely set which I haven’t fully completed yet (I’ll update this review when I have), but I’m loving putting this together and there’s something so fun but also theraputic about it too. It is a shame there’s no option for having these parrots on a stand rather than just hanging on the wall, but this is just a minor observation. The box suggests it’s only for ages 18+ but honestly, I would have loved putting this together as a young teen and even younger. There are lots of smaller parts, but at the end of the day it’s lego and as long as an adult can help with putting this up on the wall I don’t see why younger ages can’t enjoy the fun of this kit too. Just be warned, it’s a lot of pieces and time spent putting together compared to some other kits I’ve tried! 🙂

These are not the usual Legos that my kids like to play with. I gave this to my 12 yr old who is usually into creator and technic sets and he absolutely loved it.

It’s a relatively simple set to put together but it does not have a typical curved design so my son was interested and engaged in building it.

Once made, he has put it up on the wall in his bedroom and he uses it as wall art. It looks great displayed.

This set is more than just a set of bricks, it’s an immersive and rewarding experience that sparks creativity and mindfulness. The finished product is a breathtaking masterpiece of vibrant colours and intricate details, featuring two majestic macaws perched on a leafy branch. The quality of the craftsmanship is evident, making it a timeless addition to any art collection. The repetitive nature of assembling the bricks has a calming and therapeutic effect, providing a welcome escape from the daily grind. It’s a perfect way to unwind or de-stress.

We got this as we like to do puzzles and build things and this can be used as s wall ornament when done.

The instructions are clear and not too complicated. So even a novice will be able to assemble this one in an evening.

When assembled it looks very pretty and gives that nice feeling of accomplishment.

Good quality and value. Recommended. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it useful

These are stunning . When built up they don’t even look like toys but like expensive decor. I have hung this up in my living room where ut has pride of place atop my TV . I had so much fun building this up I didn’t even let the kids help me . Put aside at least an hour though !

This kit is a lot cheaper than ‘adult’ LEGO normally is, and yet you get a pretty decent amount of parts and two great instruction booklets. The models are great fun to build and beautiful to look at, and won’t tax your brain, even if you’re not a great model builder.

The instruction booklets are well up to LEGO’s usual standards. There’s a separate booklet for each model, with detailed diagrams of each stage of the build. Special steps are clearly shown and I didn’t need a magnifier to follow the guides.

When assembled the birds are much bigger than I was expecting, and as the wall I was planning to mount them on is painted in a complementary shade the result is pretty impressive. Don’t expect a backing plate, though; I was expecting one to be supplied, but actually the results are much better when you can free-mount the birds in any position.

I think the LEGO Art collection is amazing. The Macaw Parrots look amazing and the fact they are designed to be displayed on the wall is just such a cool progression for Lego. The build is fun and challenging and I love the fact you can display the finished product like an art piece.

I felt this was a perfect Lego set for my granddaughter, and so it has proved. She’s only 11 but is very experienced with Lego and completed the yellow parrot in an afternoon. There are a lot of pieces but she worked almost entirely on her own, with minimal help, and was very pleased with herself.

The parrot is bigger than I imagined, with an impressively high level of detail, and looks terrific on a hook on the wall. From across the room, you wouldn’t know it was Lego.

Next weekend, she’ll tackle the pink one. It seems a little trickier but not beyond her. Then we”ll make a group with the yellow one. The pink one has two hanging points, so the angle on the wall can be adjusted a little, if wished.

For the right child, this is perhaps a true STEM set. Completing it rewards the child with a very real sense of achievement. It requires the ability to interpret the instructions and follow them meticulously, with concentration and patience.

This is a set that’s likely to be passed down to the next generation. With 644 pieces, it seems good value, at the current 44.99. Highly recommended for an adult or Lego-enthusiast older child.

Lego sets for adults looked a little bit boring as I prefer Lego Technic or some more challenging sets in general. Although, this set looks good I didn’t find it challenging to built.
Therefore, I wasn’t too kin to try it out any of these sets before. However, I got this set to make my opinion about these sets once and for all.
Firstly, it has over 600 pieces which is quite good amount of pieces for the price you pay. Also, it gives you around 2 hours of relaxed building experience which is great fun for 2 hours. It comes with separate building instructions so you can build each parrot separately and even pieces are sorted into different bags too. Assembly was not challenging for me and even my 8 and 5 year old kids enjoyed it very much helping me and my wife out. There are some interesting building techniques used which gives this set really good look.
Assembled parrots are big and well designed. From the distance they look like they are made from something else and they are very distinctive on your wall. You have to get closer to find out they are made out of Lego. There are special Lego pieces at the back to hang them on the wall and they are well thought to keep them in place and up right too.
They are not as fragile as I thought they will be so it is not an issue to move them around.
I have slightly mixed feelings with this set. I like it how it looks on my wall and that they are well designed and big. However, building them is not challenging enough for my preference. I am giving this set 5 stars for stability, good design and foremost for vey nice arty look on your wall which will definitely make tpue wall look good.

This is a novel Lego product, it’s comprised of 644 pieces and manufactured with display purposes in mind, hence also aimed at an older 18+ audience, the product is designed to be displayed on the wall and hence the bricks do not protrude too far to accommodate this.

The set arrives in a smaller box than you’d expect given the Lego groups notoriety in supplying massively oversized boxes that assume value, this I’d assume is however largely due to the flatness of the included bricks, rather than the brick count.

My missus really liked the look of this set as a wall decoration and built this set in a couple of hours today, the set includes two macaws one with wings spread and one at rest on a branch, although the bricks have a largely glossy face finish which should be easy to wipe, there are some more exposed elements that could attract dust.

To this end I have been asked to purchase or knock together a large perspex frame, which due to the sizing may actually become two frames in which to protect them.

This is a lovely looking product and very different, making for a nice talking point when displayed on a wall, it’s also quite reasonably priced given the decorative value on offe

First off this is targeted at adults, though mid to late teens will be fine. It just takes a little care and some patience.

Each parrot has a separate instruction book and separate bags of components. The instructions are, with just a few exceptions, very clear and easy to follow and you are told as each bag is required.
The first parrot, the yellow one, took me just over 40 minutes to complete. The second, the pink one, just over an hour.

Both parrots have mounting brackets on the back to place them on screw heads, and that is the one catch about this set. The results look good and while not the hardest you are still left with the feeling of accomplishment, however what do you do with them after. These are designed for wall mounting and that is the only option.

The set comes with a tool to assist with placing some of the components if your coordination is not longer there, but I suspect it will only be required by someone who has the shakes. It is in the last photo along with the usual extra pieces.

Would I recommend this set, yes if you are going to wall hang the results, else you are left with a couple of parrots and uncertainty what to do with them (mea culpe).

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable with a little challenge for the adult. Took 100-110 Minutes

These are a sort of a cross between old fashioned Lego as I remember it and a jigsaw puzzle. I like the fact that the finished article is to go on the wall rather than to sit about collecting dust or getting tripped over.

The finished result is impressive and has a quality look about it.

    Brilliant Lego Macaw parrot set
    Part of the Fauna collection.
    644 pieces in total.
The box contains full instruction manual.
Easy to follow instructions to help you build two colourful 3D macaws.
They are designed to be wall mounted
Suitable for 18yrs+ (although my 14yr old managed to build this set and enjoyed doing it).
This is a brilliant lego set that will keep you entertained.
Excellent quality as always with Lego.
    Great value for money.
Would make a lovely gift for any lego fan.
    Would highly recommend.

Start off its lego of course its great quality, clips together easily clear instructions, a brand everyone loves..
    Now the real information.
A nice steady build for an experienced builder at a casual steady pace it took around 30 mins a bird to build.
Bird size is impressive thin but large the biggest of the two been 55cm across in wing span.
Secure once built no problem with pieces falling off not alot of weight to them so will hold up well once hung on the wall with a screw or nail what ever your preferences is.
See the photo of back attachment of the hook to hang them up by.
I love this idea of wall art pieces so don’t need to find more shelf space to display your builds and I hope there is more to come in this collection.

One last bit of important information for collectors the brick separator was orange.

    Happy building.
