I bought it for my Dad who has very poor eyesight. This is smaller than his last one but this is much more powerful. With the bright lighting he can still see the print on his newspaper. He is very happy with this magnifie

I am using it for reading and sewing as I am awaiting eye surgery. It is a great buy. It has the LED lights and has made everything so much easier to see.

Use it most days to read very small writing, works wonders as some many things seem to be written in a tiny font that I can hardly see even wearing my prescription glasses this does the job perfectly.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThe not so good.

Firstly, I was in the house and the package was left outside in the cold for hours until I went outside for a different reason, the magnifying glass became damp and couldn’t be properly used for some hours afterwards because of condensate (even with wiping) until it had properly warmed up.

Secondly there is no lens cloth, so you’ll need to supply your own to keep it clean. BTW, batteries are not included but I didn’t expect it to be.

    The good:

I bought this because I’ve taken up and interest in development boards similar to Arduino, Raspberry Pi and the like. I haven’t really used magnifying glasses before, so at first I thought there was something wrong with it. You have to vary both the distance between the lens and the subject as well as your eye and the lens (moving your head) to get different magnifications. The led lights are good, providing illumination when the light is inadequate. I also bought a magnifying lens lamp which I sometimes use to provide more illumination while I use this hand held.

If you are in any doubt as to whether to buy this for similar use as me, stop doubting and go right ahead. You get a lot of lens for your money, it is well worth it. If it hadn’t been for the delivery issue and lack of lens cloth, I’d have given it 5 stars for sure.
