Using with an Anker prime 200w this cable can power everything I carry. Including my MacBook Pro 2020 regardless of having a thunderbolt for transfers.
The magnetic feature Is next to none. Never any tangles, super easy to wrap up and put in a bag, excess cable when using sits nicely looped and not messy.

This is super nice to stop the cables getting messy.
It coils up and stays there with the magnetic cable.

I hate when cables get tangled or messy everywhere and its annoying having to roll them up, so this is a great way to keep them tidy

This cable mainly functions no difference to other fast USB-C cables for charging/data purposes, but priced a bit more and the premiums paid is for the magnetic properties of the sheath which helps to tidy up the cables more easily, without use of clips or ties.
Supposedly magnetic sheath could provide better shielding for the cables, but this is not proven or tested.
So unless clutter is a big concern, it may not be as worthwhile to pay the extra premium, unless this one is on sale with substantial discounts.

Magnetic cables – this is such a good idea!

I’m someone who until recently kept his cables in a shoebox, where they would always emerge tangled or never in the right place when I needed them. This magnetic cable is game changing!

The cable itself (rather than the ends) are magnetic, which means when you coil it into a loop, it will hold it’s shape. rather than getting tangled in the mess of wires. I’ve even stopped storing them in my shoebox now – I can magnetically “stick” the cable to the side of my metal cabinet and it stays there neat and tidy until I need it. The cable itself is also good quality – braided nylon and able to deliver 60w power / 480Mbps data.

Overall I’m a convert to magnetic cables now – they just make so much sense.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tangle-free, coil-holding magnetic USB cable

You can never have too many USB-C cables around the house these days. This is the first time I’ve come across magnetically coiled cables and I’m pretty impressed. This cable is well made and charges my various devices without any issues. It has a good magnetic strength and unless you’re making use of the entire length of the cable, is easily coiled for a neat and tidy look, even better when storing the cable in a drawer etc.

      Would recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome for keeping neat and tidy.

USB cables are, basically, a dime a dozen – there’s so many, of so many lengths with degrees of quality.

These days, we just want something that works, is durable and that’s pretty much it.

Well – this one has a nice feature, it’s magnetic! Ok that sounds weird but it’s not magnetic connectors rather the cable sleeve, meaning when you need to store it (which is my intended use with a laptop), you can just coil it and it’ll hold in place without the velcro straps (or whatever you use – it’s velcro for me).

Using it on my Steam Deck, it charged as quickly as normal, although this isn’t its main use (it’s just what I had that draws high power at 45w) but also means, I can then stash the cable to get on with my gaming with minimum fuss.

I feel I need to look into these cables for other things – having all your cables “stick” together for HDMI/TV/PC type usage would certainly make desks or living rooms a touch tidier and easier to manage….hmmmmm sounds like a good idea to me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice to coil without velcro!

The magnetisation of the cable on this charger is useful when you are using a plug on a desk at the same level, as the cable can be coiled in a neat spiral. But the magnetisation isn’t powerful enough to keep the cable in check if you are using it on a height difference, say a plug on a skirting board up to a table or chest of drawers.

The cable is also categorically NOT fast charging. I tried to charge a phone on it and managed to get a 5% charge after nearly two hours on the cable.

I use this mainly to power my Huawei Laptop and to fast-charge my phone. It performs just as well as the original lead supplied with my laptop and looks a lot better!

The build quality is good – it’s nylon braided and appears much more robust than a simple PVC cable. The cable needs a little help to coil, and the magnets aren’t that strong, so don’t expect it to snap into place or anything like that. In truth it’s a bit of a gimmick, but it does help keep your desk tidier.

      Overall it’s a recommend.

This is a very neat idea. In every sense. Neat because it is just a good idea and neat because it results in a neat work area. It is also highly function delivering both good charging and good file transfer performance. When you coil it up it stays coiled due to magnets within the braided cord sleeve. I am forever hunting for cable ties or similar to tame cables with a mind of their own. This coils up neatly (you do have to intervene it won’t just do it on its own) and stays like that.

I got good performance from it and think it is a very good product.

      Good:

      – well made, it’s braided, so will live longer
      – well made plastic gaskets, they are not in the way after plugging it to a MacBook or an iPhone
      – great for file transfers, even music on an iPhone through 3rd party software
      – supports fast charging
      – fast transfer speeds
      – coils fast and it does not take too much space
      – nice color combination

      Bad:

      – might not be long enough

While they’re not quite as good as the blurb makes out (well what is) these are actually pretty good at helping reduce the cable management on things like bedside tables or coffee tables, as they allow the cable to be quickly and conveniently coiled and for them to stay like that without clips. They won’t however resist gravity, if you coil it and let in hang in space it’ll quickly uncoil again but on my coffee table it coils up next to my battery pack and once it’s there, it stays there, it doesn’t unravel. It’s more convenient than a cable clip or looping the cable through itself, but again it won’t stay like that if it’s left to hang in space. This does of course mean you can just grab the end and pull it and it’ll uncoil so it’s both more convenient to coil and uncoil but with that advantage comes the disadvantage that it will only stay coiled if left on a desk or in a loose bag. That suits me fine for a few areas in my house so I’ve got two of these now.

This is a braided USB cable that has magnetic strips along its length so that when the cable is coiled up, it stays together in that coil. It does not coil itself up but stays coiled once wound. This is really good on the desktop where it sits coiled up until you pull it out to use it. On the downside it magnetically attracts desktop items such as paperclips and staples.

The cable is thick and braided and has shrouds that cover the plug to prevent breakages. I have tested it to 3A without issue.

This charger is much like any of my USB-C chargers – apart from one thing – it’s magnetic so it holds itself in a loop position!

This makes it great for storing in a bag, not because of space saving, but just because it’s easy to get in and put away and it doesn’t tangle. It works pretty well but it’s not flawless – I mean the looping aspect, it does loop but you still have to manipulate it into shape. The magnets aren’t that strong, I tried to attach it to the metal legs on my desk but it slid down, that’s a shame as stronger magnets would have held it in place and it would have been a my desk ready-to-use but not getting in the way, it would have been hidden.

As a USB-C cable this works really well, I charged my phone and mt digital camera and I’ve used it to copy files from my camera to my PC and it worked as expected. It supports PD (Power Delivery) which is essential for me as many of my devices will only charge with PD and this cable was able to charge them without any issue (digital cameras).

If you are often whacking a cable in your bag to take with you then this can be a great solution as it doesn’t tangle once looped. I probably prefer this to retractable cables as the mechanisms on those can be temperamental and break. I would have given this 5 stars if the magnets had been strong enough for this to attach and hold its own weight as it would have made it slightly more useful.

Neat idea to magnetise the cable to keep it tidy when not in use. It can be more tighly coiled than it is out of the box and does seem to retain the tighter form. Provided a charger suited to the phone is used, the mobile displays “fast charging” when connected. Even so 20 for a charging cable is excessive even with the magnetic feature but hopefully the cost will reduce in time.

These magnetic cables are good idea, you can spool the up and they stay that way, very tidy! The cables are braided and have a nice durable feel. Unfortunately they are not very bendy where the cable breaks at the connector, that could have been done better.

      Other than that, nice cables!

I think this is a great idea, the cable as you can see in the video is magnetically attracted to itself this makes it very tidy for storage.
The cable has good flex and works as expected and provides fast charging for my phone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good idea
