NEEWER D Tap to NP-FZ100 Dummy Battery with Cable for V
NEEWER D Tap to NP-FZ100 Dummy Battery with Cable for V Mount Battery, Stable Continuous Power Supply for Sony ZV-E1 A1 A7 III A7 IV A7C II R III IV V A7S III A9 II A6600 A6700 FX3 FX30, VP-FZ1
It does the job without any problems. I deducted a star because it doesn’t feel as well made as others I have used. I have the Kondor Blue version and that one is pretty nice… but it costs a little more soooo if you’re looking to save 5-10 bucks this one is a good option.
It’s worth noting that the cord is a little longer on this one, so if you need that, it’s another reason to pick it up.
In my experience, Neewer tends to provide budget products of good to very good quality. Although I haven’t used this D-tap dummy battery extensively, in my testing it has performed flawlessly and delivered power to my camera without fail. I expect this to be another reliable product from Neewer.
This is EXACTLY what I needed for my longer shoots on the run. The quality seems great — it’s Neewer, so usually, that’s a given, in my opinion. I think that my only wish would be that the cable would be longer so I could have an easier time belt mounting my D-Tap battery and then running the cable up my Ronin gimbal. As of now, it’s a bit on the shorter end for that, but overall, I can make it work for all that sweet-sweet battery life!
Not much t say here, it just works. It allows me to power my Sony A6700 to my V-mount battery using it’s D-Tap output. It’s been working week so far. I haven’t had any issues regarding powering the camera. The sable feels strong and the connector feels fine. Te misting claims for this dummy battery to have things such as overvoltage, overcurrent, and short circuit protection. If that’s true, then those are some nice safety features that this dummy battery has. However, I don’t current;y have the resources to test it.
Overall, it’s been working well for me so far. Nice D-Tap dummy battery for Sony cameras.
If you are like me – you are concerned about putting a “dummy battery” into your expensive camera. I’ve bought them in the past… and then chickened out before using them after reading about the horror stories online.
I recently bought a Neewer V-mount battery with the D-tap… and when presented with the opportunity to review this D-tap dummy battery – I jumped right on it. All of my Neewer purchases have been impressive – and since this is a matched unit I felt comfortable to give it a shot.
In the past, my Sony ZV-E1 camera has always been quick to report and warn me about non-OEM batteries – but it accepted this dummy battery like it was one of my Sony batteries. That instantly gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling! Obviously it is providing the camera with exactly what it needs and expects – and that is precisely what I am looking for.
So at first blush – I’m very happy with this dummy battery. The D-tap plug is a good tight fit in the battery – and dummy battery is a good fit into the camera. After I have used this more extensively – I’ll be sure to update this review if circumstances warrant.
So far so good. Happy to have found a solid dummy battery for my FX30. This will help save the wear and tear on the USB-c port on my camera rig set up.
I have some other “no-name” dummy batteries in the DC (round) to NP-FZ100 style. This employs D-Tap which ensures a proper voltage to your dummy battery and is a more secure connection. The quality of this compared to the others I have is substantially better. Neewer produces quality accessories and this is no exception. Fits the battery compartment perfectly and there is no error message when I power the camera on. If you are looking for a dummy battery for your SONY camera this is the one to consider.
