So lovely, I’ve hidden it from the rest of the family so they don’t blunt it or break it like they have every other knife in the house. Sharp enough for stringy runner beans, glides through veg a dream.
I like it because it’s very sharp and for cutting onions I’m hoping it doesn’t go unsharp after a while, also very light to hold it, comfort, it’s the size I wanted, not rusty yet, and also flexible
This is a very well made knife, not super sharp as described bit still sharp. I use it for my steaks and it’s perfects. A little pricey for a steak knife but it’s worth it. Recommended.
Excellent knives. Very beautiful. Very sharpmy husband has managed to stab a finger with the point of one drawing blood and cut a different finger also drawing blood in the first few days of us using them! We are used to blunt knives as you might surmise! They really make easy work of cutting up all sorts of things like tomatoes, potatoes. and fingers
The knife comes very sharp and it has a nice weight to it that makes things easy to cut with. However after some use i’ve noticed that there are some areas on the knife which aren’t as sharp. It doesn’t retain its sharpness for too long
Wanted a really sharp knife to carve the Sunday joint,as they all seem to go blunt even when washed by hand.so far this is excellent – mind your fingers
These knifes not only look amazing, but the performance is equally excellent, what a difference it makes to the preperation of food. Easy to clean, I carved a load of lamb last night, and it was like slicing a tomato with a razor blade.
I’d highly recommend these, however if your after a real chunky gauge knife, then maybe look elsewhere at the german steel available, but if your after a solidly built set of beautifully crafted knifes, then these are for you. Not too heavy, and not too light, these are goldilocks for me.
This paring knife feels very good in my hand, with a good amount of weight and good balance. Very sharp edge tested on very ripe tomatoes and nectarines. The wooden handle is absolutely beautiful to look at and it has a very nice texture so you have a very good grip on it and it won’t slip off when wet. If the steel is as hard as it claims, then with some basice maintenance, this knife should last me many years to come.
I am so pleased I bought this knife – cutting bread is now like using a hot knife to cut through butter! Reasonably priced for a good quality item. Highly recommended.
I umm’d and aa’d about getting a kitchen knife. I needed an all purpose knife, sharp and comfortable for home use. Comes in a good strength box. Sheath is protective and strong. Knife is comfortable to hold and I chopped onions, carrots, parsnips and potatoes with ease.
Be careful though, it is VERY sharp. I nearly took a finger nail off during first use (too keen!) You have to be careful in usage and storage, it is not a toy!
Only used once, but pleased with the overall performance of the few knives that I have used during my first workout with them.
Well balanced, and lovely and sharp out of the box.
My only gripe is, that it’s not a real wood that has been used for the handles, even so has a good feel to the the handles.
Apart from that they are very good knives for the price that I payed, 149.99p.
Previous knives bought had unusual handles and short blades, which made them tricky to hold and not so efficient at cutting through things like chicken or potatoes. I ended up almost sawing!
This is standard grip, as you’d expect from a kitchen knife. Nothing fancy. A good long, sharp blade glides through meat easily and slices down on tough vegetables quickly. The front of the blade slices into onions perfectly, and the curve is just right for a rocking motion to slice carrots quickly.
Had this a few months now and haven’t needed to sharpen it at all yet. My large chopping boards are glass, so I think I’ll be investing in plastic or wooden ones, as I worry that the hard glass won’t be good for the blade. Can’t keep using the small boards.
Being just an average cook who cooks from fresh most nights I really wanted a knife that made prep easy, this one does just that, it is easy to hold, slices through veg really easily and the bonus for me is it so sharp I no longer dread doing onions, no more tears or stinging eyes.
Well worth the purchase and definitely thinking about buying more of the range available.
**Updated**
Vendor contacted me and stood by their products and sent me a replacement out straight away to replace my damaged knife and this new knife has held up to the task over a couple of weeks now and we use it every day. This knife appears to be strong and sharp so we are very happy.
It’s also great to see the vendor stand by their products! Will definitely buy from PAUDIN again.
**Initial Review**
Sadly my knife did not last 2 days of usage. I’m not 100% sure whether it was delivered with the blade in that condition or whether i did it when chopping a butternut squash but the blade is not straight and is damaged in two places. It does look good and is presented well however.
I can still use it but it is a shame.
I brought this knife as I wanted to know what the quality was really like.
Going on my findings I will purchase the knife block at sometime. Love this knife. How sharp it is, how it sits in the hand and it looks great.
Could I please get dis discount.
The knife arrived quickly and is in a lovely presentation box. Bought as present so haven’t used but looks sharp. Has a comfortable handle and is a good weight. Arrived wrapped in a thin postage bag so box edges were slightly damaged which is annoying as a prese
