I don’t know if I had misread the description, but I couldn’t change the colours. Maybe it was my fault, I don’t know. I returned it as I needed it for that specific function. As a colourless lightbulb works perfectly fine though.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe setup is fairly simple, provided you have the appropriate app. They provide a QR code for you to pick that up. Connecting to a network is no more or less of a faff than it is for other smart gadgets, a moderate faff, in other words. The associated app is less fussy and easier to navigate than some (Tapo) and the whole process is forgettable in a positive sense. I remember all the stuff necessary to set up Tapo blubs (we have more than a few of those too). We didn’t want the colour capability for the places where these bulbs are used, so they are pretty much set and forget. We can dim them, which is nice.

As a musician I tend to hate any noise injected into the mains circuits in our house (it subtly shows up on audio recordings) and dimmable bulbs are not prone to doing that, so we finally get dimming with no downsides.

They work well, they respond to automation very consistently (some Tapo bulbs can be “reluctant” even of the same model – QA) and are generally “set and forget”. They get my vote.

Perfect to set off times and on times for night time. I use this to fade down when going to bed, and to help get me up in the morning. Obviously works on Bluetooth so can’t operate from too far away. Great idea, and works well

I use this along-side my Alexa and it was super easy to set up.

    Pros:
    – Bright
    – Dimmable
    – Integrates well with Echo devices

    Cons:
    – Bit on the pricey side (unless it’s in a deal!)
    – On its own it cannot be switched on via WiFi as it’s conneciton is bluetooth (can be switched on through WiFi via the Alexa app though!)
    – These sort of bulbs will use more energy than a standard LED light due to the fact it is always “on” so you can switch it on wirelessly but I can imagine it takes very little power when idle.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWarm is still brighter than I thought it would be (small room recommended), and the white light is recommended for big rooms (Extreme Brightness) The app user-friendly, plus simple instructions:

    > Sign into Hue or register in 5 minutes.
    > Once registered,
    > Turn on the mobile device Bluetooth. We used the mobile and tablet app, Philips Hue
    > Setup App, if you don’t have Philips Hue Hub, skip this step
    > Connect the bulb to the fitting, e.g., a ceiling light or lamp.
    >Turn on lights
    > Add light to the app. This will scan for the bulb via Bluetooth
    > Turn off the light when instructed via app display.
    > Done, all works via app or wall switch (Whichever)

    Get yourself one, its awesome!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersLove this bulb, I have it alexa operated and just ask her to put it at 40% or brighter at 100% etc, really easy to install, it just goes in the light, switch the light on and the alexa app does the rest with you. I can’t always get up to turn the light on and off due to a disability and this has made life so much easier. Alexa is programmed to turn it on when I wake up and I can ask for it to be turned on when I enter the room which is good if I’m struggling to walk. One of the best things I’ve bought in a while. It shines much brighter than the original bulb I had in my uplighter too. Very happy!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this smart bulb to replace a regular one in my landing and I’m very happy with it. It was easy to set up with the Philips Hue app and it works well with my Alexa device. I can control the brightness with my voice or my phone. I like that I can choose from different scenes and moods, such as relax, concentrate, or energize. The light is soft and pleasant, not harsh or flickering. It also has a timer function that lets me set a routine for waking up or going to sleep. The bulb is energy-efficient and durable, and it has a good range of connectivity. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to upgrade their lighting and make it smarter.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGreat light with a good range of colours, app works well and is easy for my 9 year old to navigate.
Lost a star because it looses connection to Alexa on a daily basis and was bought mainly to be voice activated so not really meeting our requirements

I have cheaper smart bulbs with more features and easier set up. This bulb isn’t very bright. I managed to connect it to Alexa when it was set up in one room, I then moved it to another room and it refuses to connect so it essentially nuts just a regular bulb.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIf you are buying this bundled with the Echo Dot take note that the bulb no longer works without the Bridge! I had bought two bundles and had the bulbs refunded once I had found this out. As for Amazon service it was very time consuming and frustrating and in the end I gave up speaking to the support team….. I simply ticked the box for ‘not compatible’ …… the good news was that it made the Echo even cheaper on it’s own 🙂

Bought one of these with a black friday deal with two amazon echos was going to use it for the living room but was abit too yellow for wifes liking so moved it to the stairway still cool to have alexa turn it on and off or even when i come home from outside i could just use my app in the car to turn in on Especially on those dark nights. Also can adjust brightness to whatever suits your fancy.
