Our Sprocker suffered a stroke in December and lost the use of his back legs. Along with loads of physio and a special harness, started ‘walking’ a few weeks later. We noticed he started scraping the top of his nails as he was walking and twice they started to bleed. To stop this happening every time we went for a walk, we bought the doggy boots. Best thing we did. As well as stopping him scraping his nails, the boots actually have made him walk properly again.
Only tried these boots in the garden, yet to see how waterproof they are. They’re a bit more fiddly to get on than our other boots but they are longer on length. Seem to be good value, like the fleece lining.
My dog has very sore paws she lets me put them on, easy to do up with the Velcro really like the fact they come further up the leg. Considering her arthritis she can still walk with ease
Good looking boots and like the fleece lining. Easy to put on and mostly they stay in place but have to be really tight. My dog ripped ber nail off below the skin, it became i fected , had to be wrapped and kept dry so with the ad saying these were waterproof i bought them but beware, they arent waterproof at all. The sole maybe but not the upper. My dogs paw and bandages were soaked through. I emailed the company to ask about these but have never had a reply. Very disappointed.
Not at all waterproof, the fit even though we measured as instructed wasn’t great. The boots were needed due to an injury to our pets paw but we had the tape them on if we did manage to go anywhere.
These are a replacement for a set which became too small. I like the rubber sole which gives traction and some protection against mud etc.. and protects polished wooden floors from scratchy claws. The velcro straps hold the boots firmly in place and, although the dog doesn’t like putting them on, he’s ok with actually wearing them.
I’ve tried several different boots for my working dog who has a missing toe on a front foot and gets sore when working. He wore these boots and went through puddles and still had a dry foot. Boot stayed on (I did tape the boot to make sure) all day. I have a large Labrador and ordered the large size which fits well.
Liked:- colour, rubber soles, value for money and overall design.
Disliked:- that all four boots were not universal in shape, that there wasn’t a smaller size for the really smallest of dog breeds and thus I had to purchased the smallest size possible however they are far more cumbersome than they should of been had there been an even smaller size made for the dasmallest of dog breeds.
This was my third attempt at buying boots for my Greyhound to cover a surgical dressing on his leg.
The wide front opening makes it easy to put them on. They’re fully adjustable around the leg, and fit beautifully. They’re also nice and long so they cover most of the dressing.
The thick rubber sole is very strong and durable. My Greyhound drags his back feet, but the rubber comes up over the toes so this protects the fabric and his toes.
They’re water resistant but not waterproof. We overcome this by using a small plastic bag inside the boot when it’s very wet.
Overall, these are the best boots I’ve found.
I only needed one following surgery on a paw so have only used for short period of time. I have a large Malamute , measured his foot and bought relevant size but the boot did keep slipping off. They appear well made and looked very smart when on and it washed OK. I will try again if we get icy conditions because my dog is arthritic and it may stop him slipping
Ok, so I did select XXL which according to the size chart would have been perfect. The boots I received are labelled as XXL but are huge, at least 2cm bigger. While 2cm doesn’t sound like much, when it is on a dog boot it is a lot. Anyway, despite the hugeness, bagginess and the fleece lining being disappointing somehow they stay on. They look ridiculous but until the next ones arrive they will do. I’ve now ordered large, which would be too small, so here’s hoping all sizing is generous and they will fit. I seem to be collecting dog boots, so if anyone wants XXL |(Orange) I have some going spare……I also have some shorter boots that aren’t as good as these – also free to any home – Just P&P please
I have an 8 kg pug who is struggling with his back legs and drags his feet at times which causes sores on his feet. I ordered a small size. These boots stayed on really well and stopped the feet getting sores but I think I will order an XS as well, as he had a lot of room in the boot. These boots are definitely not waterproof but they are good value for money and I’m sure they will last a long time as the soles are nice and sturdy. My pug didn’t have any trouble walking in them and didn’t protest so I feel they must be comfortable for him.
Size L purchased. I have a 15yr old Dalmation with bad arthritis in her back legs which causes her to drag her feet. She still loves a daily walk but in cold weather this can lead to scuffed paws. I’ve tried other boots but they don’t stay on. So I had little in the way of hope for these but they are so easy to put on and the Velcro holds them on even across the field through mud and puddles. The tread is very good so one of the drawbacks is they slow her down on hard surfaces but she won’t slip and her paws are safe! Great product!
My Labrador is very prone to cut pads as she lives for beaches and water. Unfortunately her last injury was a real nasty cut and she lost part of the pad. The vets had to operate on her and for over a month we have had twice weekly dressing changes at the vets, at long last all dressings are removed but the area looks so tender, hence, i ordered these boots, they are absolutely wonderful, they are so soft inside but the outside is really solid. This is the 3rd type of boot i have bought, the others have no comparison to these boots. The fact that the boots come well up the leg ensures they do stay on no problem. I did buy larger size than i though i would need, but it proved to be ideal as i do not have to squeeze her foot in, the wide opening allows an easy fitting. Fantastic product.
Good fit and they seem to stay on well. Bought the L for my Springer Spaniel after surgery on his paw and the soft medical shoe at Pets at Home wasn’t up to the job. This at least stays on while he’s out for a short walk on lead.
Upper part is neoprene, so probably not waterproof, but the sole is rubber/plastic so will at least keep foot dry on a damp pavement.
I absolutely love these dog boots the look smart they are easily secured , the only thing I didn’t like about them is the sizing guide, beside meaurement guide it would be good to advise dog type size .i could have done better ordering XXL for my GSD instead of XL.Felt that I could not return them to get the next size up after trying them out and getting them dirty.
We bought these as our lab badly cut one of his paws and we needed something to protect the foot and the bandage. I have to mention here that our lab, like most labs, eats everything but also has a massive aversion to having his feet touched. We bought the LARGE size which is perfect for his foot (we did try the medium but that was too small for the bandage) and gives an allowance for the bandage but would still fit without. The velcro works really well and remarkably it has stayed on with him running and doing his bull impression with his back legs. He didn’t particularly like it to start but then he didn’t like the bandage and was running 3 legged with the injured one almost lifted at a right angle to his body but it wasn’t long before he was on all four legs and remarkably he has left it alone and not eaten it off yet and lets us put it on with no issues.
This has been a lifesaver in ensuring he still gets his walks. The sole has thick thread on it so does grip even in the wet mud. It is not waterproof but that isn’t really an issue and is easily hand rinsed clean and dried on the radiator.
