My golden retriever needed an operation on her foot and these were great to keep the bandage dry. Once the bandage was removed these shoes helped my dogs foot get better by keeping it dry and allowing the wound to heal on short walks. My dog didn’t mind wearing the shoe as it didn’t make any sound and stayed on her foot well.
My 17 year old Border Collie had very sore paws. I bought these booties so she could go for walks. She got used to them within 10 minutes. Her paws are now healed but I still use her shoes when needed.
Unfortunately our dog will not wear these . We were hoping these would help to stop her soft paws from becoming sore but she’s quite timid and was becoming stressed when trying to wear them. I was immediately offered a refund and informed I didn’t need to send them back and could donate them to a dog charity which I thought was wonderful . Thankyou so much
Bought to help cover a gammy pad the dog managed to acquire. They did stay on well once the wife wound the velcro round the right way! You are not meant to laugh at the dog as he attempts to walk with these as this will be noticed and hurt his feelings! We only needed the one on the back leg so he spent more of his time on 3 legs and not really using it. Did the job though but didn’t bother with the stupid instructions as we didn’t have a week to waste!
Way too small for a Bernese Mountain dog, but if they had fitted (fit?!) then they may have worked. Very sturdy, good quality materials, good look, reflective strap and strong Velcro. The Velcro strap could have been longer too but that’s all issues to do with the boot being too small for my dog. I do think a longer sock part of the boot, reaching higher up the leg, would help the boot stay on.
Theses boots are well made with a soft interior and two good Velcro straps. I would have liked them maybe 1″ longer for a better fitting up her leg. The size 8 fits my 40kg chocolate Lab quite well and stayed on during a walk/ run in the woods. It fits over the dressing the vet put on after an injury she suffered. They also wash well. I put a thin plastic bag over her foot before I put the boot on as the dressing she has on her foot was not slippery enough to put it on without moving her bandage.
I used to use these for my elderly, arthritic spaniel previously as they supported her feet and made it less painful for her to walk in her later years before she “grew wings and learned to fly”
I bought some more for my 4 Yr old spaniel for the nasty winter we have had to protect her feet from frostbite (yes, dogs can get frostbite) she is a typical dog so not fond of being “dressed up” but I honestly think she appreciated them when on the frozen ground and I felt happier knowing her feet were protected. She was able to run and walk normally in them and the double adjustable straps are fantastic. Highly recommended.
I spent quite a bit of time measuring my dog’s paws and ordered the right size. He is a chocolate labrador and needed a size 8 so it is important to take the time to measure properly. The shoes are a perfect fit and my dog seems to find them comfortable!
I have a very active dog who runs chases the ball and skids alot. The shoes stay on perfectly and that is one of the most important things.
The shoes are water resistant but if the foot is immersed in water then water can get in. they are find in the rain.
I am so pleased with these shoes, they do the job excellently and I can highly recommend.
Had to use 2 of the booties today as my dog Ellie injured both back paw pads. They appear to be robust and good quality. Even after a 2 mile walk in leaves, puddles and mud, they both stayed on without needing to re- adjust them and protected her paws. She never once objected to them or tried to remove them. She just accepted them as soon as they were put on after 5 steps of a funny walk. The straps are both long and the Velcro strong. They are soft inside including the base with a light rubber strip around the rim inside which would help to keep them on. The top Velcro tie is reflective. The sewn in gusset on front of boot helps to keep dirt/ water out and makes it a lot easier to put on and remove bootie. I definitely recommend these and I will be buying a spare set.
Needed a boot for a cut toe pad and tried these. I was very pleased that they fit well and have stayed on during several walks keeping his foot nice and dry and protected.
He’s a big boned greyhound, I ordered sizes 7 and 8 as the measurements weren’t really suitable for sighounds with their long narrow feet and the 7 fits him well. The Velcro straps can be tightened to ensure a good fi
My vet recommended boots like these as our bull terrier is suffering from an open wound on her pad. These are great for slipping on for trips to the garden. Our dog took to using straight away. In the pack you get 4, 2 left and 2 right. Sturdy velcro to keep on and reflect tape handy for nights. They wash up with a bit of washing up liquid as paws are smelly. Been using for quite some time and still looking good. We did as per instruction draw around paws to gauge the size needed.
Very good as you can see in the video dog very happy brought these for trips when she need to walk in slippy rocks for her joints. Its half water resistant I would say they look good as well and not problems with tears or cuts in shoes
I love these boots for my old dog who has polyneuropathy and scrapes his feet when walking. They are easily the best fit of all the boots we have tried and stay on. Burt walks happily in them and they protect his toes and nails.
My only negative is that they don’t last if walking on tarmac as we do. The soles are great, it’s the top section where he doesn’t lift his feet properly that wears out, particularly at the joins. The outer of the velcro straps also wear out with the reflective material coming away.
The way Burt walks means he is really hard on his boots. He wears them for 3-4 hours a day and only gets one small rub where his foot is a funny shape but a plaster prevents it. They last him about 6 to 8 weeks wearing one pair at a time.
I would highly recommend these boots for fit and wear for dogs without walking difficulties. For dogs like Burt I still recommend them as they stay on so well but be prepared to replace regularly. For me they are worth it as without them he wouldn’t be able to go for walks
These boots are ideal for my GSD who has CDRM, which is suffering from chronic degenerative nerve damage. Basically this means he drags one of his rear feet, he’s only been wearing them for a few days but I immediately saw and heard the difference this boot made, reassuring me it was doing its job.
The rubber sole extends over and above the toe part which is exactly where he needs the protection as his foot comes down nails first (imagine like a letter J ). I obviously don’t know how long each boot will last but I expect I will buy this item again when these wear out.
For info: Shadow is a GSD weighing in at 41kg, however he has narrow feet so I suggest that if you are not sure of the size needed use the guide that is suggested
Hope this helps
Update: My male German Shepherd is about 40kg but has quite narrow feet which is why in his case the size 5 was the better fit. He is about 12 years old (he’s a rescue so I’m not sure, he could be older but not younger) and has CDRM which is Chronic Degenerative radiculomyelopathy. As I understand it, basically the sheathing around his spine and hind lags is breaking down and there is no treatment for i
OK so they took a while to adjust, she was like bambi on ice at first, lots of tripping over and was actually concerned she was going to serioisly hurt herself but please be patient because once your dog gets used to them they are great. My dog has grass allergies and gets inflammed, really painful paws , the shoes have made a massive difference and now she actually refuses to walk unless she has them on. When we put the shoes on, her tail is wagging, she runs and plays in them, we can see a big difference in her when she is wearing them vs when she isn’t, she limps without them on. People do give us some
funny looks when they see her in them, maybe thinking we dressing her up for fashion or something but as long as they are keeping her paws from becoming painful again, we do not care.
I bought these boots for my seven month old, 15kg cocker spaniel who’d cut his paw. These were the third and final set of boots I purchased, and only wished I’d found them first.
I bought a size 4 and they fit him perfectly, both with and without his paw being taped (vetrap, not a bandage). The boot (as I only needed one) stayed on when put on correctly! But the double straps help secure them in place. It’s best to do the bottom strap first, as this will tighten the boot around the paw.
They’re not waterproof in snow, but are water resistant on wet ground and grass. They’re also durable, something I found the previous boots I bought were not. For that alone, these are definitely worth the money.
To make sure you buy the right size, I’d suggest measuring the paw, whilst the dog is standing.
