El diseo es muy bonito, se ve minimalista y retro a la vez, los switches Skycyan suenan muy genial y el material se ve bastante bueno y de calidad, lo he usado un par de semanas y me va encantando hasta ahora, me siento satisfecho con la compra.
I like how easy it was to connect to both of my pc’s. I’m very excited that all I need is one keyboard for both pc’s. It opened up more room on my desk. And the keyboard works amazing!!!!
I’ve only used this keyboard for a week but it’s one of the best keyboards I’ve ever used the clicks sound amazing and the lighting is very good this is worth the money.
Keyboard overall is good. Color was great for my setup aesthetic and in general looks clean. Weight is good and the size is great. Like all RK keyboards, plenty of satisfying lighting options. Two complaints.
Bluetooth connectivity works but there is a slight input delay on the first initial click if the keyboard is off for a few seconds. After the initial click there’s no delay. That won’t make much difference unless you play games where it’s important like rhythm games. Last complaint is the key actuation. The keys are very sensitive. As someone who has heavier hands, I tend to click the keys just by my natural resting position which has caused many problems. There doesn’t seem to be actuation adjustment for the keys. Overall review 8.5/10.
Amazing it feels like it should be worth more. The feel of this keyboard is great and doesn’t need a custom lube to make it sound or feel better. The RGB on this is great and has varying options and designs to meet your expectations. The battery life of this keyboard is crazy, I’ve been using it for a week, and it hasn’t gone under 50% of battery life. If you need a decent or even excellent keyboard for under $100 this is one of the best.
Really like the look and design of this keyboard with the different slants & angles. The knob is so satisfying to use. The south facing rgb lights are quite bright. The linear switches are really smooth and sound good.
This was my first mechanical keyboard, and I am admittedly not well-versed in its ins and outs. However, I have always wanted one because I like how they feel and sound.
That being said, I am obsessed with this keyboard. If I don’t have any emails to send or anything to type (I’m a writer), it’s fun to just play typing speed tests on this thing. I also couldn’t possibly be happier with the build quality. Feels really nice and durable.
I am also really impressed by the different colored light options. They all look so nice, and it is so easy to toggle between them. I am in love with my Royal Kludge keyboard, and when I can, I would like another one to use at work.
If I have ever recommended a product purchased on Amazon, it’s this one. I can’t possibly gush enough about it—five stars without question.
I got the R61 first and then returned it when I realized it wasn’t BT (silly mistake). I preferred the shape of the keycaps on that one, and the creamy feel and sound, but this one is also amazing! I think I might switch out the keycaps at some point once I figure out what type were on the other RK keyboard.
The thing that I absolutely LOVE is that I have now connected this to my mac, my gaming PC and my work laptop. NOTE: On the macs you should connect it and hit the keys next to the shift keys ONCE, but the next time, just cancel/click the red circle so keyboard assistant stops popping up everytime you switch BT channels. THE DIAL FEELS SO FREAKIN GOOD! Someone on YT compared it to “fidget spinner good” and it’s totally spot on!
The lighting is good, typing isn’t bad and I’m more accustomed to the keys after an afternoon with it. It’s still taking some getting used to coming from the flat rectangle apple magic keyboards for the last 6 years, but it’s not bad! On this particular keyboard I have to say I hate the spacebar sound – it’s VERY different from the entire rest of the keyboard and whatever switch is in it (or maybe they have something bigger/different than switches or two small ones spaced out? pun intended :P) definitely needs changing. It’s absolutely horrible and I’m not even a picky guy when it comes to the sounds. Most sound decent to me, but I think I like linear most from having had 2 KBs with them now. One things for sure: you’ll def know when you’re typing spaces correctly XD
I got the green version (it looks great!) and the build quality is SOLID 10/10. I would dare to say this is the best budget mechnical premade board you can get, or one of top 5, for the features and overall feel out of the box.
This keyboard is beautiful and came just as described. There was a glitch with the charging port; however the vendor did an excellent job of rectifying the situation and sending out a new keyboard. I love the keyboard, it is super functional and is well-designed. I’d recommend
I have been a long term user of the G915 TKL and then decided to switch to this one for a while, and now I can’t look back anymore as this new keyboard is all I need.
To start with the battery life is simply amazing. You may simply give it a full charge and forget about it! The battery level smart indicator is equally amazing as a feature.
The key caps are amazing. This is a mechanical keyboard and the experience of using this for competitive gaming is unparalleled, especially that I also have access to a Huntsman analogue 2 keyboard and a G915 but I still prefer this one.
All in all, very satisfied! If you are looking for a customisable gaming keyboard then look no further.
This keyboard is quite impressive. Connecting it was a breeze, and I appreciate the variety of modes, especially the customizable lighting options. Typing feels like a dream with its soft keys, and the wireless feature adds a modern touch. However, at 89.99, it’s a tad pricey, but I’m hoping its quality justifies the cost in the long haul. Overall, if you’re looking for a comfortable, high-tech keyboard, this one certainly fits the bill.
I’m very pleased with this keyboard. Has a sturdy feel. Enough alternative keys supplied. Easy to setup. Not too noisy in use. I ordered this because I was fat-fingering my Cherry compact. The full-size keys on this make that a thing of the past and the width keeps my mouse arm pretty straight – reducing strain in the elbow and bicep. I can see the solid backlight being useful as the days get shorter but the light patterns only serve to make my kid jealous!
Short review: a satisfying feeling small format gaming keyboard, slightly let down by the odd usage of the mode knob.
Good:
+ The ‘speed silver’ switches are snappy as you’d expect from the title. The key travel is fairly short, but the action is definitive. It feels responsive and won’t fatigue you for long sessions. I will say their linear nature and lack of clickiness means they aren’t as satisfying for typing/coding as some others I’ve tried, but they’re ideal for gaming.
+ And if you don’t love the switches, there are a plethora of options to swap them out for.
+ The layout frees up a lot of space on the desk while retaining some important function buttons: home, delete, pgup, pgdown. I think it’s a good compromise and the keyboard is more centred relative to the body, making it a bit more ergonomic.
+ Lots of connection options. I use it mainly in wired mode for gaming, but I’ve also connected it to my laptop via bluetooth and it works nicely.
+ Build quality seems solid. It’s a plastic body and thus a lot lighter than metal options. I haven’t noticed any undue rattling or pinging in the keys.
+ The RGB options are bright and varied.
Mediocre:
= Be aware that this is a windows US layout. You can use it without many problems with a UK language setting on your machine, but the keycaps won’t match and there are some physical differences like a half-height enter key.
= The included keycaps aren’t shine-through and the colour contrast isn’t the best. I touch type so it isn’t a big deal, but the keys are quite difficult to read in a dark room.
Bad:
– The knob is wasted on being a connection switch. It’s much more useful for volume since that’s a function you’re going to use far more often than changing what mode the keyboard is in. It’s a misstep and probably knocks off a whole star for me.
Overvall, though, this is a good customisable gaming keyboard.

This compact gaming keyboard is brilliant. Battery life is great, and charging wire is included to use whilst playing. I love the lights, you can set the colour you want. Really well made, quite a bit of weight. Great design, great quality and price, highly recommended.
This is a compact keyboard, but It has a full selection of keys (minus the Numpad).
The wrist support is also very good.
You can adjust the backlighting which is great.
Ultimately this is an great keyboard but if you’re into gaming and are constantly entering competitions then this is a great compact keyboard. It just needs a case for all that travelling.
This works excellent, I’m using it with my new iPad Pro and it’s fantastic. I’m sure if you need this for a PC it will also work fantastic too. I would like to see it a little cheaper but I still definitely recommend it to anyone %
This name pops up in a few top budget mechanical keyboard reviews. & I can see why.
There’s a decent amount of weight to it with a choice of three rear heights. I love the customization of the backlighting & also the keyboard shortcuts for opening emails etc.
This is definitely one that’s more for gamers…esp with the missing numeric pad area…but that’s the whole point of it trying to be compact…so for general typing you may want to look for a full layout instead which RK also do. Also those switches….being linear…ie…there’s no notch/bump to give feedback as in tactile swtches…they’re so smooth with no clicking & super quiet. The only noise is from the caps/switches coming into contact with a surface. Perfect with quick response for gaming…not being slowed down a fraction by that bump.
The switches used are not Gateron/Cherry etc….but RK’s own. & they look/feel high quality…in fact they’re better than the Gateron switches in my other keyboard. The Gateron switches have too much play in them…ie…the keys can be wobbled around too easy….RK’s switches make the keys more solid…also..having installed each side by side….the tactile Gateron switch had more travel when pressed…it sunk further.
There’s a couple of things I’m not happy with though…..While that dial is great for instantly switching between devices…I don’t think it’s something that most of us will be doing often..if at all. I’d much rather have a sliding switch on the top/side & have the dial as volume…albeit you can adjust the volume via two keys.
The other is the keys being totally solid. Ie….I have two other keyboards which also have fancy backlighting….& the lighting shines right through the letters making them stand out & easy to see. When lighting is on with this keyboard….it doesn’t shine through the letters..& almost drowns them out making it harder to see them. It also doesn’t help when you have brown on black.
It’s for this reason I’ll be using my other new mechanical keyboard & giving this to my son. But he’s not having those switches….I’m going to swap them out & he can have the tactile Gateron switches…the RK linears are staying mine!
But apart from that…otherwise can’t fault this keyboard.
Oh..I’ve included a pic of the key/switch extractor. Having never had to extract a switch before…I couldn’t work out how to get the caps off using that claw end….after googling it..it turns out you prise apart the other end & then slip over the keys!…Just in case you’re a key removal novice like me!
Rating: 4.5/5
As good as budget semi-custom boards get.
Pros:
-Relatively affordable compared to fully custom mechanical keyboards
-Backlighting and wireless connectivity.
-Doubleshot pbt keycaps.
-The SkyCyan switches are pleasantly smooth and responsive.
-Knob is a mode selector.
-Gasket mount with PC plate.
-Solid stabilizers.
Cons
-The stabilizers need to be properly lubed. A big dollop of lube just sits on the stabilizer bar and doesn’t -actually seep into the housing.
-Sounds a bit hollow despite sound dampening.
-The switches are definitely clackier than thocky.
-The switches seems to have a very thin layer of lube but it isn’t enough to prevent scratchiness.
-Keycaps are a bit thin. I estimate around 1.0mm. Thicker keycaps deepens the sound.
-In wired mode, the bright, pulsing red charging LED can’t be turned off.
-Keycap printing looks busy with all the secondary function indicators.
-Knob is useless if you only have one device.
-There are apparently two versions of this keyboard: one with poron foam gaskets and another with harder silicone gaskets. The keyboard must be disassembled to know which one it has. Not sure how much of a difference they make though.
Overall solid keyboard. I had to switch between my macbook, PC and PS5 so worked like a charm.
So far I have had 1 defect though, one of the backlight function is only showing green colour after a month but everything else is fine.
– Nice weight to it, definitely doesn’t feel cheaply made.
– Switches are rather interesting, if you’re fond of the standard keyboard typing sound but want it to be more muted and smoother (less clacky) if you get the drift.
– Hot swapping: I can’t comment on advanced modding personally (i.e. replacing switches, lubing) but swapping keycaps is a smooth experience. The keycaps it already comes with is satisfactory enough though. You don’t need to worry about rough plastic edges or gritty surfaces.
– Design is a must for anyone looking for a keyboard with a different look from the standard. (Retro aesthetics are personally a favourite for me). The keyboard ridge is a very light grey though, so keep that in mind if you are searching for an actual white keyboard. Personally I think it is still versatile and can compliment many other custom keycaps.
– THE KNOB: this feature is one of the biggest highlight. Have to see how it holds up over time but for now I can see it being useful if you frequently switch between connection modes or multiple devices (and currently both bluetooth and wireless G work smoothly for me). I used a keyboard with a volume dial type feature before, and honestly feel it’s unnecessary if you already have other appliances connected to your computer/laptop/etc where you can adjust the volume (or better yet just…lower the volume manually on the device itself).
Reason I’m refraining from 5 stars is because I want to see how it holds out longevity wise. Also keep in mind this is a review by someone who isn’t the most tech savvy or a keyboard modding pro (code for beginner friendly).
If you are comparing this to a > $200 keyboard, this may not meet your needs but for the price, this is really a great keyboard. It has become the rage to have a volume nob usually at the top right corner of keyboards these days. That is fine, I guess, but I prefer what Royal Kludge has done with this board using the nob as a switch for wired, 2.5GHz and the three bluetooth options. In my opinion, this is much more useful than a volume nob, especially when I can use the F-keys for volume just as easily. Using the nob to switch the keyboard from one device to another is not only easier than using the normal FN key + number key to switch between devices but it will provide a quick visual cue as to what device is currently active.
This is a gasket mounted keyboard. I am not a huge fan of a springy gasket keyboard. This is not such a keyboard. It takes a pretty good press to see any plate flex. What it does do is mute the sound of your keys. That along with the polycarbonate plate makes this keyboard a great option for a work environment where other cube mates may be annoyed by a loud keyboard.
The Sky Cyan switches are super smooth and creamy. They are Royal Kludge’s own branded switch and a great option for those who like a linear switch with a great feel. I prefer a top loaded tactical switch so I did replace the installed ones with something of my own choice but I will likely find a good use for these switches. They really are good. One thing to note, they are really tight in the PC plate and will take some effort to remove.
I gave this a 4 star review but for the price and features, it really would be a 4.5 star keyboard and should be one of your top considerations for a keyboard in its price range.
(The photo of the board in the review is not the original keycap and switches.)
Update: their customer service contacted me then solve my problems with the switches, so if you find anything that is not to your liking I have no doubt they would take care of you as well.
the highlight of this board is the solution of multiple device selection, it is one of the better ones on the market right now, the knob is responsive and easy to use. but the lower capacity of the battery will limit your time of use without charging.
the material used for the board is decent for its price, the plastic feels high quality and molded properly, and it has the standard sound absorbing sheets plus a nice set of onboard stabilizers, thus even is on the lighter side of things, it still has a good enough sound profile for its price while I would still recommend you change the cap/switch if you plan on using the board as a daily driver.
its also very unfriendly to any enthusiast that wants to tinker with the board because the screw holes on the bottom are all behind the rubber feet, I just can’t wrap my mind around this design choice, it has no upside but all the downsides! another weird choice is to use the “pause” key as the last key on R2 — how many people actually use the “pause” key nowadays? isn’t “home” or “end” the better choice? not to mention you never gonna find a keycap set with an R2 pause key.
the gasket mounting is a meh, it did provide a bit of wiggle room under higher pressure but I doubt anyone would type with such force, so if you dislike the stiffness of a plate mounting system this could be good for you, but if you looking for “the bounce” this is not it.
the RGB and the FN are standard for a pre-build entry board, simple and easy but limited, you can’t customize the keys, only choose what is already been set.
So my conclusion is: this is a great starting point if you are new to the mechanical keyboard scene and willing to buy better caps and switches plus the need to switch between multiple devices often. but if you already have other mechanical boards and love to tinker with them, there are many better choices.
