Got this when it was on a prime day deal so was super cheap and it’s absolutely amazing for my son. He loves ot works well. Holds charge well perfect tablet for young kids.
Not a great deal of choice in 8″ tablets as most seem to cater for the kids market and have limited storage. This is an absolute cracker for the money and even better still was on offer at the time. The tablet dimensions were exactly the same as our 6 year old 8″ tablet which we were replacing but the Samsung A9 has an 8.7″ screen, rather than 8″ also a huge 128gb of storage and 8gb of memory. We did purchase 6 months prior the larger Samsung S9 Fe and the A9 is really just a smaller version and near identical software, but just a few omissions ie no fingerprint unlock or auto wake/sleep with the case. Very pleased with it.
Very light weight android tablet that has a decent battery life and reasonable quality screen. Extended the memory with a Micro SDXC 512gb card and just updated it to android 14. Good bit of kit and well worth the purchase price.
It’s a good value tablet which I bought to use instead of a Kindle as I want colour when reading magazines. For that it’s fine and cheaper than a Kindle. As a tablet for other stuff you get what you pay for – it’s much slower than an iPad – but that’s to be expected.
Great product, value for money and easy to use and a big screen. The picture quality is great, is extremely fast and responsive and great for watching videos or playing music through with good sound quality. The appearance is smart and thin but sturdy style. The screen and brightness can be adjusted accordingly.
Great little tablet for my 9 year old, plays Roblox, You Tube etc with no issues, very sturdy and seems well built, quite small but perfect for someone who wants a light weight powerful tablet, excellent battery life and sound quality.
This product is great easy to use .
Can’t find any faults with the tablet
Please Note
I was surprised at the physical size of the tablet, it was smaller than I was expecting, but very practical all the same . Point to remember – take note of the tablet size before you purchase .
I have experienced limited volume control for zoom meetings using the tablet – this is related to zoom settings, and not the related to any problems with the tablet itself.
The tablet media volume is very load for Music and Videos on You Tube etc which is great . You can complete other tasks on the tablet with ease.
I would certainly buy from the seller again . Item packaged very professionally with bubble rap in between the top and bottom the tablet in the box for added protection.
Love this tablet which is a upgrade from my old one which still works fine but the quality is so much better and faster, crisp resolution . I’ll just keep my faithful earlier model has spare.
Having never had a Samsung tablet before, was a little weary of it, but since buying and giving it to my wife, she’s over the moon, and doesn’t miss her iPad one bi
I bought this to replace my 10″ tablet. I wanted one that was slightly smaller so it was easier to carry around with me.
Dow loading previous data was simple and quick. I would definitely recommend this table
I bought this tablet because in my view the size and dimensions are perfect for use ‘on the go’. The aspect ratio is great for movies, books and magazines. The screen is also fine for emails. I tend to use other systems for documents but there is no reason why it would not work well with these also. Out of the few tablets available of this size I chose the Samsung A9 because I have other Samsung equipment and it fits in well with them for sharing calls and messages.
I protect my tablet with a generic inexpensive glass screen protector and an even less expensive generic gel case; neither effect its usability. The tablet is faster than its predecessor, the A7 lite, and will do everything I ask it to but it does not seem as fast as my S21+ phone. The screen is high quality with perfect touch response and again is fine for my needs but the resolution is unchanged from the A7 lite. It is a shame that there is no fingerprint sensor, although in my experience Samsung’s efforts at fingerprint sensors is very poor. If Samsung’s engineers want to know how to do it properly they should look at the extremely fast and accurate Huawei sensors. The tablet comes with Samsung’s user interface which I cant comment on as I immediately replaced it with the Nova launcher. My A9 is 128/8G which is ample memory but I also use a microSD card for media, like movies and music. I routinely charge the tablet every day but the battery life seems fine.
The tablet is very good, I use it every day and I would buy one again without question.
Pros
Perfect size for reading books and magazines
Links with other Samsung devices
Cheap microSD card memory expansion
Cons
Could be faster
No fingerprint recognition
Cameras and screen resolution could be bette
I am really enjoying using my new Samsung Galaxy A9 Tablet. It has loads of features, all of which are explained in the downloadable instruction manual, although videos on Youtube were a lot more helpful. Normally the tablet is quite fast to boot up, although on one occasion so far, it took at least two minutes to come on. I use the tablet to time my workouts, watch Youtube clips, check email, etc. I haven’t tried to make phone calls on it yet but that is definitely on my list. I guess what isn’t completely clear to me, even with reading the manual and watching Youtube videos, is how to set up guest accounts without guests having access to the administrator pages and applications. I’ll just have to find the right video that explains the process more clearly. Overall, I am enjoying the huge array of functions on the A9. It’s pretty much like a mini laptop.
This is a super budget Android 14 yet premium brand tablet in 2024. Adding a 512GB Samsung SDXC card (40) & Logitech Pebble 2 KB/mouse combo (65) with a stand up case (15) turned into my grab and go travel media and workstation (The pebble KB/Mouse makes a surprisingly good Android workhorse). Sound is decent (4 speakers built-in) with excellent stereo effects. Streams Netflix and other media very well on wifi too. For the price (Under 180 Feb 2024) and a total of just under 300 with all the extras it is a complete revelation in budget versatility. Despite loading many apps the 4GB memory limit hasn’t been an issue, & the 512GB card holds a good media library/ document store for when there is no internet connection. Great battery life too. Samsung’s Android UI doesn’t have too many restrictions compared to some other manufacturers. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
I bought this mainly when I go travelling I need to watch streaming films or TV when there’s nothing where I’m staying
Playing games too
8GB ram runs pretty well, 128GB is better as my old tablet was running out of room 32GB
The performance is better than I expected, you do get the occasional lag but for the most part you don’t notice.
Everything about the tablet is typical Samsung a lot of bloatware but does everything very well.
The screen display is quite good and responsive, however I feel that the touch screen element could be better as some touches do not always respond and keystrokes get missed. (My only criticism)
It would have been nice to have in settings a “Touch Sensitivity” setting which would probably help especially if you use a screen protector.
Battery life is pretty good, it lasts me all day and evening for browsing, music, audio books and youtube videos with occasional film. Device care is telling me a full charge lasts around 1 Day and 17 hours.
Mine has 8gb ram and performs beautifully, I think the 4gb version would maybe struggle with some lagging as about 4gb ram is always in use on mine.
Would I buy it again, yes indeed as it is excellent value and an impressive small tablet which does most things very well.
Have added a 1TB microsd card to store a lot of music and film, this also performs very well and currently has around 430GB stored on the card without issue.
Great tablet for low price and lovely design. Resolution is good and loads on inbuilt storage, plus you can upgrade via cards. Controls are on point and swiftly loads up applications. Only thing I will say negatively is that the boot up time is lengthy. Apart from that it’s of robust quality and design. Great for kids.
Let’s be honest, there aren’t any real competitors to the iPad Mini. Fire HD 8, Lenovo M8/M9 and the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 are the only cheaper Android-based alternatives. Still, I chose the A9 and it is decent for streaming and internet usage.
Pros:
-Wonderful size. Very lightweight.
-Decent Helio G99 chip. Allows for comfortable browsing
-Good battery
-Streaming quality is good despite not being full HD
Cons:
-Low resolution is noticeable particularly when you switch back and forth from your phone
-Screen colours are slightly washed out however after a few minutes, your eyes will adjust (until you look at your phone again)
I have not used it for gaming and don’t intend to although it’s supposed to perform decently.
Overall it’s a great device to use alongside your main tablet/phone. Just don’t expect to do any editing/compiling on it.
I had been looking around for quite some time for an Android tablet of this size and the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 8.7 2023 ticked all the boxes. I mainly chose this tablet because of its size and decent specifications. Apart from being a backup for my main tablet I have also downloaded all my photographs and music collections but most of all I am using it as an e-reader for my book collections. So that together with emails and social media files I have everything to hand. This is the first Samsung tablet that I have owned and it certainly won’t be the last. Transferring files to it was a breaze and ran very smoothly without a single problem. I chose the tablet with 128gb of storage and with the Graphite colour. It’s certainly great for travel purposes being light in weight and compact. The screen resolution is quite good and the sound reproduction has not been compromised with two speakers. The front and rear cameras have 8mp and 2mp respectively and are suffient for my requirements. So far the battery life has lived up to expectations. The only slight niggle, so petty that I did not knock a star off, is that the provided cable is USB C to USB C and an adapter was not provided. I consider that it has been retailed at a reasonable price and I hope to have many years of use from it.
