I bought a leverless stick a year ago and the cheapest I could find was just over 100$ USD from a maker on etsy. Everything on amazon I could find was in the 150$+ range. I got this one as I wanted a sick that was easier to change SOCD settings on, and let me say it was a good decision. There are so many features, and so much customization through the settings on the stick, and so much more through the web UI, I’m blown away at all you get for the price (55$ USD when I bought it)! Great pickup if you’re looking for a smaller leverless stick.
Note: I’ve only used it on PC thus far, windows and linux.

I bought this as I saw they released Sin Kiske, my favourite Guilty Gear character in the latest iteration of the series, Strive. I’ve always found stick the most difficult thing about fighting games. Movement has felt impossible with my wrist and pad hasn’t been much better. I’ve been a keyboard gamer for the majority of my life – roughly the last 15 years, so when I saw that leverless controllers were becoming popular, I REALLY wanted one. For the last few years, finding them in the UK has been nigh-on impossible without paying extortionate import taxes for one from America.

This controller is fairly cheap, with a good amount of features, that lets you know if you are interested in a leverless controller or not before diving in deep with something like a mixbox/snackbox/hitbox etc.

I’ve been debating on and off whether to purchase this leverless controller and I decided to bite the bullet and let me tell you this is by far the best money I’ve spent on any controller!

The price to performance ratio is insane!
It has the GP2040! So you can customize so much.
The buttons just feel right, it has RGB which can be customized and changed per button.
It has a turbo mode for multi-inputs, it has many SOD-C modes – remappable buttons and layouts – and with the GP2040 web configurator (which is super simple to set up) you can create custom profiles to swap to as well!

Oh and did I mention it has a USB-C input you can plug into either by the top or the left side giving you options!

I’ve tested this on: Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Dragon Ball FighterZ and it works flawlessly not to mention the size is so travel friendly I can use it on my steam deck on my laptop or on the go.

For Tekken 8 I’ve remapped one of the buttons so it’s easier for me to perform EWGF and it’s a lifesaver!
For SF6 the extra buttons help me hit drive inpact and drive rush so much easier and faster.

Honestly this leverless is perfect for veterans AND if this is your first entry into leverless style controllers this is honestly one of the best to use to get your bearings with. You have pro features if you want it and if you don’t it’s literally plug and play into your PC.

If I had to say a disadvantage it would probably be it has no OUT OF THE BOX PS5 compatibility – now it IS possible for this to work with a PS5 but it will take some tinkering in the GP2040 Web Configurator or an adapter which you can buy but honestly it’s worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST Travelsize Leverless

The controller itself is pretty damn good.
It does everything you need it too with more buttons than you will ever need.

The only negatives I have with the device in which they could improve.
It would be nice if the plastic came with a protective plastic film, as when mine arrived it did have slight scratch on the plastic.
The key switches are meh, I have plenty of key switches so changing these out was easy enough.
The screws of two of them did not want to unscrew and there is not spares so you may want to get some more screws and it would be nice to have a couple extra if this happens.

The positives you are getting far outweigh the negatives.
There is so much controller for the money. The controller has fully customisable firmware so can edit buttons/rgb/lcd etc

They have a discord which is super helpful it has instructions/pdfs for the controller art to make your own/instructions on the firmware so plenty of after purchase support available.

Will it make you better at fighting games. No! but it will help you ensure it’s not your inputs that are failing you .

Very interested in the t16 as I feel a bigger one for lap play would be great to try

I would love to see them selling more coloured options for the button tops on the websites with different textures

It is always great to discover a new type of controller, and they don’t come much stranger than this. On first look you may think this doesn’t make sense buit is actually deceptively simple. Rather than having the usual arcade sticks, this controller replaces the four directional stick with buttons. Almost everything else is the same as a standard arcade stick in terms of layout.

The controller is compatible with a wide range of devices including PC, Switch, Playstation 3, 4 and 5, as well as Android and Pi machines.

The buttons are LEOBOG Graywood V4 Switch which are microswitch buttons more akin to a keyboard rather then an arcade stick. You cannot use Sanwa or other arcade stick makes but should be able to change the switches to a Cherry type you prefer. However, these silver Cherry like buttons are linear, have a nice travel and actuation distance, plus they feel good. They are also hot swappable.

The device has two USB C sockets giving you options for whether you want your USB to come from the top or side and a USB Type A extension socket.

PC gamers should feel very much at home with this controller as it simulates the WASD layout of a keyboard and the additional (duplicate) up button is place where PC gamers would usually tap the space bar, making this feel very ergonomic and natural. Those used to console controllers may struggle for the first couple of games using the device but I found it easy to adapt to.

The RGB really gives this a nice extra touch and has a practical use. LEDs can be configured (although I haven’t explored this yet) but also flash a different colour when keys are pressed. The small inbuilt screen also lets you seen which buttons you have pressed, what mode the controller is in, etc.

Overall this is a great controller for the price. hitboxes such as this gamepad can be may hundreds of pounds, but you are paying for mostly empty space and some relatively cheep Sanwa buttons.

This device doesn’t have the arcade branded buttons, but feels great and responsive. If you are into fighting games or retro gaming then you should check this out.

Ok. I’ll be honest. I unboxed it and thought this was good. I plugged it in. Set it up (Pc). Plug and play with no issues. I went into practice mode. Half circle and quarter circle inputs suddenly became extremely easy. Then when I tried to play it in a real game I hate it. And I felt like I had too many buttons and my brain was getting confused and I was going to send this back. I then read a review that said to give it more time so I left it and came back to it and now I am starting to click with the controller. Definitely a steep learning curve but in terms of the actual products, the price for the quality gets is very good. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to try hitbox to get this. I’ve got the version with the extra buttons .

5.0 out of 5 stars For the price this thing is insane.

Funny thing, my husband ordered this , but it was the wrong model, it’s too small for him, therefore I got it! Made me get into Street Fighter 6 again. It’s very cheap, and very high quality.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was worried that this would be a cheap scam, but after it came and I felt the buttons, that worry went away. They’re legit premium buttons – only used Sanwa buttons before – but if these are gamer finger buttons, I’ll probably order them for my other stick.
Not clicky, just a soft tapping sound and satisfying travel and feel.
    Cons:
Stick is small. I have medium sized hands and it’s just a bit cramped, but nothing I can’t get used too. If you have larger hands, consider getting the bigger version of this if there is an option.
The option buttons on the top right are quite small and don’t feel a little flimsy, but they get the job done.
    Pros:
Plug and play on PC. No configuring required. Tested on Street fighter 6 and Tekken 8 demo.
Premium buttons and build quality. Stick is small, but feels sturdy
OLED screen on top left is a nice touch.
