I have several different varieties of V-mount attachments for rails such as this. This one is a third generation design that takes advantage of all of the design choices made by predecessors and is well made.
This battery plate is perfect for vertically or horizontally mounting your v-mount batteries. There’s no quick adjustment screw so you will have to use the provided Allen wrench (or your own) to switch the V or H orientation, but once it’s set, you’re good to go on any 15mm rods. Great product.
This is a nice solidly built mounting plate. The battery connects and disconnects well and the countersunk thread holes are nice. It is fairly small and light, but not too small. My only real complaint is that it did not come with any mounting screws. Other plates I’ve ordered, as well as other rig components, have come with multiple screws. Otherwise it is a good plate.
I am constantly building (and rebuilding) camera rigs for our video recording studio. I thought I’d try this Sirui plate (having normally incorporated that slightly better known brand that begins with “S.” It is made with this same care and finish as that other brand. It came fully assembled (the plate and the 15mm rod clamps) and is made with heavy duty aluminum. The v-mount clip works as expected. Recommended.
Every Vmount plate I have used until now has added significant weight to my setup. Using this is much lighter and offers a more flexible configuration. The older style plates were nice because they have many external ports, but they are more designed for actual cinema camera setups. A lot of people are shooting with mirrorless cameras and the tradition plate is kinda overkill in size. This plate alone with the newer smaller v-mount batteries makes everything nicer for the run and gun style shooter. Not to mention the newer batteries have many output options so I don’t feel like you lose functionality by going smaller. This is now my go to v-mount plate.
Every rig that i build that is intended for hand holding or being mounted on a tripod will always have a V mount battery plate. It is a personal preference for my power supply. Sirui V mount battery plate not only offers a stable mounting option but it also adds a bit of stylish flair.
It slides onto 15mm rails easily and locks down very securely. Cheaper v mount battery plates have cheap bolts that strip out as soon as you get a little too tight, making it a hassle to get off. This battery plate is built very well with premium materials. It is also very lightweight compared to its size, and is an amazing option when you want to keep the weight down on your rig.
This battery plate does exactly what I need it to do. It is very light weight and the release mechanism works well. My only complaint is that this did not come with any mounting hardware. If the manufacturer threw in a couple of bolts, this would have been an easy five stars.
Solid Locking plate. Easily attached to my set up. Kind of wish Sirui made more items in their Silver color cage system. Would be cool to have this is silver to match my sirui camera cage.
I am quickly becoming a fan of Sirui products. I own one of the APSC Anamorphic lenses and cage for the FX30. Both are top notch and this V-Mount plate is of equal quality. I combined this with a Crab Clamp and Cold Shoe Monitor mount (photos) which provides a perfect mount to attach to the leg of my tripod. The Sirui V-Mount plate is the perfect size for smaller V-Mount batteries (which I prefer) so the weight and size are less prohibitive for travel. The Crab Clamp and Monitor Mount provide just the appropriate amount of adjustment to keep things close to the tripod and cabling neat. I might pick up a backup unit I like this mount so much. It is much preferred over a larger V-Mount plate (non-Sirui with ports) that I use for larger V-Mount batteries.
