The feeder is made of metal and has two holes at the rim of the cylinder for the bird seed to fall on to.
In the top is a small solar panel that captures the sun light during the daytime and the underneath a little bulb alights in the cylinder at night time.
For the price this is a good quality and value for money product.

This is a fairly attractive bird feeder, but I do have some reservations about it.

The feeder arrives in bubble wrap inside a plain cardboard box with no documentation. My first impressions were good. It looks rustically attractive and it’s solid enough. Although it’s described as being copper coloured, it’s really more of an antique gold. The base metal underneath is some sort of coated steel. It’s not the thickest metal in the world, and the gold paint is a bit sploshed on, but it looks OK. On closer inspection, I noticed the hooks where the hanging chain is secured are rather thin. I suspect that will be the first point of failure as it wouldn’t take long for those hooks to rust through, and they hold the weight of the feeder. Another thing I noticed was that the gaps in the central portion designed to hold bird food are quite large, so this wouldn’t be suitable for anything smaller than peanuts or sunflower seeds.
The lower bowl section is nice and wide, so birds will have plenty of room to stand and feed. There are several holes drilled in the bottom, so it won’t fill with water. You will likely have to clean it regularly though, as peanuts tend to rot fast if left wet.

The solar panel is completely removeable, which is good if you need to clean the feeder. It seems pretty well weather sealed, and the light it puts out is decently bright. Due to the filigree pattern on the feeder section, it emits a rather lovely light pattern on the ground, though the effect is ruined if you fill the feeder too much.

I don’t think this is the kind of feeder you’d want to leave out in the elements all year round. It’s more of a fair weather feeder. Time will tell, but I can foresee it rusting very quickly if left open to rain and moisture for a long time. If you maintain it well though, you could probably avoid that.
The less than stellar build quality coupled with the fact that it’s limited in terms of the type of food you can use means it’s hard to give this feeder a glowing review. At the current price of 25.29, I think it’s a little overpriced. It is an attractive and functional feeder though, and the light looks nice at night.

4.0 out of 5 stars Attractive, but build quality could be better.

I recently got this solar bird feeder for my garden, and I’m absolutely thrilled with it! It’s not just a feeder; it’s also a beautiful garden light that intrigued my interest, and I instantly placed my order, and I am glad I did.

The design is stunning, with intricate cut-outs and charming hummingbird motifs. I love how the solar light illuminates the feeder in the evening, creating a cozy ambiance.

It was easy to use – no assembly required! Just hang it on a tree and let it soak up the sun to charge. Plus, it’s easy to fill with bird seeds.

The feeder itself is top-notch quality. It is made of durable metal that can withstand the elements. And the capacity is just right. It can hold plenty of seeds to attract all sorts of birds.

A part from pricing, which is a bit on a pricy side for me. Overall, it is an attractive bird feeder, and adds a lovely touch to my garden decor.

This is a really lovely bird feeder. It is solar-powered and creates a beautiful shadow at night. It is easy to fill, has space for the birds to perch, has little water cups and can be hung or stood. The central column is coloured, so it looks pretty during the day as well as at nighttime. It can hold up to 3.3 lbs of food, but if overfilled it impedes the light pattern, so it’s better to fill it more often to get the full effect. There is currently a 10 off voucher, but it is still quite expensive. Otherwise, I am happy to recommend it.

So this bird feeder is made of fairly thin metal which is why I knocked a star off as not sure how durable it will be long term?

It has been given a bit of aged/distressed look to it’s finish making it appear as a vintage/antique item. (Although of course you have the solar panel on top which is ultra modern)

This is though quite a good design with its solar powered illumination for evening decoration. The feeder iteslf has a nice hopper for the food and holes in the base so rain water drains away and doesn’t get the bird food too soggy.

Overall yes a nice adition to hang in the garden for birds.
