Sow and Grow Start seeds indoors in February for greenhouse crops and 4-6 weeks before the last frost for outdoor crops. Moisten good quality compost and add into seed trays or small pots. Sow the seeds 2″ apart, cover them with a thin layer of soil and water lightly. A temperature of 18-23°C is ideal for germination which should take 7-14 days. When seedlings are about 6″ tall repot them into bigger pots. After all chances of frost have passed they are ready to be transplanted in their final position.
Care and Harvest Because cordon tomatoes grow so tall, they need support by way of bamboo canes or wooden stakes. As the plant grows remove all new side shoots and thin out foliage as soon as the flowers appear and carry on as the plant fruits. Pinch out the growing tips at the top of the plant when the plant has 4-5 trusses. Harvest when fully ripened on the vine for best flavour.
Height and Spread The plant grows to a height of 6′ and spreads to 20″.
Common Pests White Fly, Tomato Blight, Aphids, Cutworms, Hornworms
Common Diseases Damping Off, Fusarium Wilt, Mosaic Virus, Verticillium Wilt
Handy Tips Always try and grow more varieties as some will suit your growing conditions better than others, they may be differently susceptible to disease, and you may well prefer the taste of some varieties.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m really pleased with how well these aubergine seeds have germinated. I have them indoors in early February on a heat mat at 20 degrees, though I’ve had to shine an LED light on them as there’s not enough light getting through my venetian blind. Within 5 days they’re shooting up to a great start. Should they fail for any reason, there’s loads more left in the packet. These are good, viable seeds and I must make a note of the brand for my next vegetable seed purchase because they were superb value too.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood quality seeds. All seeds i planted germinated within 4-6 days with a combo of a heat mat and a dome. Had doubts before as i tried before with different brand and im a beginner gardener and no luck with prev seeds, but these did the job.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAs just starting my journey with producing my own tomatoes I’m still learning and still have lots to learn so as a start I’ve purchased few varieties of dwarf tomatoes to keep in my small greenhouse. I got Maja, Chiquita from other sellers and Drops from here. The plants have overgrown my height but just started to fruit and they are very strong. I planted them late May/beginning of June. Taking one star off for the surprise size haha.
