USB C hub,7-in-1 USB C multi-port adapter with 4K HDMI,100W PD,USB-C and 2 USB-A data ports 5Gbps, SD&TF card slots,Aluminum USB Type C Hub,for MacBook Pro Air,Surface Pro,iPad Pro,XPS, HP,Lenovo etc
Had a windows surface and required a hdmi port and extra usb ports. This works perfect , a little smaller than expected with a short wire but does the job of something a lot more expensive.
There are couple of variation on this product, so buy depending on your needs. The 7 in one has all USB ports in different combinations. The 10 in one has an SD card slot I believe. Do double check before you buy.
Overall you’ll need something like this if you’ve bought a modern or small laptop or Macbook which was built with insufficient ports. The manufacturers like to keep things sleek and trendy. But it’s problematic when you’re trying to use it as a workstation, or need to do certain things, plug in drives, or work with multiple external devices. Many high-end modern laptops may only have one (normal) USB or one USB-C port, which means if you have external laptop or mouse, you can’t do anything else, without a hub.
In any case, this has both a USB-C and one normal USB (apparently it’s called USB A). One adapter slides over the other. This will plug into your laptop.
So the functionality of it is good. The ports work for me on this 7 in one hub. I plugged in my wireless keyboard and mouse adapter along with an external Hard Disk Drive.
Worth noting is that file transfers were at half the speed of plugging in directly. Probably not an issue for most people, but if you’re a video producer or editor, or moving lots of big files, this device may slug you down. I guess it’s because the transfer speeds are shared out between the different lanes and devices, rather than going directly. So if you’re doing that, I’d recommend transferring files before you start, then using the hub afterwards for other devices you need to use.
Overall a very slim and functional device that does the job. If you need super high transfer speeds for a hub maybe look elsewhere for one that advertises high transfer speeds. Maybe one that uses thunderbolt or USB 3.1, or USB 3.2. Otherwise, good device for the money.
Got this as I needed additional ports, lots of devices on the market but this was reasonable prices and now that I have it near my desk it looks the business
Plugged into a regular phone chamger socket so able to charge a couple of inspection lamps at the the same time as Bluetooth musci to my work stereo. No issue works well.
