I have run few long distance with the vest and super happy with it! There are lots of pocket in the vest that you can put your gels, food and phone. The bladder is really good quality. It’s the one of the best you can buy for this price. It’s almost as good as other expensive brands in the market. Definitely recommended
Embarking on long runs requires not just stamina but also the right gear. This running vest has been a game-changer in that regard. Its ultra-light design is hardly noticeable, allowing me to concentrate on my run. The hydration pack ensures I stay hydrated without needing to stop, and the multiple pockets are perfect for carrying essentials like my phone, keys, and energy gels. The adjustable straps ensure a snug fit, minimizing bounce and discomfort. The reflective details and whistle are thoughtful safety features for early morning or late runs. It’s durable, too, showing little sign of wear after numerous outings.
Im used to carrying light on my runs and wouldnt normally carry a phone. At themost I would just hold a bottle of water and have my door or car keys in my shorts’ or tights’ pocket. The UTOBEST vest has plenty of space for a phone, keys, snacks, change etc. I use it with a water bladder which works really well. I tend to carry some jelly babies, sometimes take my phone and keys. It’s a comfortable fit around my chest and there are adjustable straps that should help it fit well for a range of sizes. This is the first and only running hydration pack/vest Ive ever used and Im really pleased with it.
I review items for Amazon so did not purchase this product, but having used it I would purchase one and may buy a second as my wife admired this.
This is a Premium quality garment, with real attention to detail, even the pull chords have bits of elastic to stop them flapping around, there’s a ladder system to choose where the clasps join across the chest, and the pipe for the drink is insulated so it doesn’t get all hot in the sun (though it’s not hot here to test that). The whistle is a nice touch and in an accessible place. You can use it with a pair of small water bottles if you don’t want to use the water pack. The water pack is of a quality which you could pay the purchase fee for. It has a full-pull-off top making it easier to dry/clean. It didn’t have any strong tastes when first using it.
We’d tried it on a 6″1 (186cm) 83kg and 5″4 (162cm) size 12 woman (UK sizes).
It was good for both.
On the run movement was nicely controlled, it’s so lightweight you don’t notice it much, it felt very light over a hoodie (it was still cold here!), and the little pockets are good if you need to take an Inhaler, and space for telephones too.
Last year I bought a motorcycle hydration backpack from Krieger which is a UK high-quality brand motorcycle luggage brand, and this seemed to me to be of that quality, although built to be light-weight brief, rather than their design for strengths and waterproof design brief.
Indeed, I do think for activities like adventure motorcycling, trials and enduro this sort of lightweight pack to hold water, a phone, an emergency beacon (even), lightweight jacket, would be a great option. Just get the bigger size if putting it on over motorcycle armour (I’d estimate).
Excellent work Utobest, go and make more things!
5 stars!
I use this pack to carry water for my dog and I when we run together. It is a lightweight but sturdy pack, looks smart and is very comfy to wear. Although the pipe it comes with can only be activated by sucking it, which obviously doesn’t work if you’re a dog, you can easily unscrew the large “lid” and tip water out that way. I also really love the amount of extra pockets and clever storage solutions.
I can have my phone and keys close to hand in pockets situated on the strap going around hips/waist.
There is room for my light running jacket on the back, under the elastic strapping, and with 2 litres on board, there is enough water for both my dog and I.
I am happy to recommend.
This is so much better than using a bottle, when either running or cycling. The ease of being able to hydrate through the tube rather than risking whacking your teeth on a bottle because you haven’t aimed right is totally negated using this. Maybe Im alone in doing that but drinking from a bottle really puts me off my stride and ride.
The whole build of this is good. Its sits quite high on my back, but I haven’t found this to be uncomfortable in the usage I manages so far, which has included a long walk and a 20 mile bike ride.
You can use the ring to attach keys, torch etc, there’s a pocket for your phone and enough room to add a few bits and bobs you may need, without being to big that you end up overloaded. Overall, it’s a great little bag, though cold on the back if you put chilled water in as there’s not much more than a mesh between you and the bladder.
This is a decent quality hydration pack.
The pack itself feels well-made from quality fabric, and the hydration bladder is even better – a detachable insulated hose with secure fittings, and even spare O-ring seals included. It all looks as if it has been made to last.
My only quibble is sizing. I am a slim 12 stone and 6 feet tall, and the medium/large size only really just fits me with the straps all expanded to the maximum extent. If I was any larger, it would be uncomfortably tight.
If you are slim enough, this is a nice hydration system, but forget it if you are of over average build.
I can’t get over how light this bag is, and then how sturdy it feels!
The bungee was stretched to its limit on a recent run/hike with a down coat stuffed into it and tightened down, but once removed it was in perfect condition, no damage to the bag at all!
The thought that has been put into this vest make it worth the money! The zips are all great quality, the straps have bits of elastic to hold loose ends, the clips are all very light weight but strong and hold the straps in place very well. You can also remove the walking pole straps if needed.
Even the buckles on the chest straps are fancy easy to clip together clips with pivots built in but they are sturdy and have a positive feel.
Love that you can disconnect the hose from the bladder making it easier to fill. Has a shot off valve to stop it all leaking out! even comes with spare seals for this connection!
If you are in the need for a running vest with a water bladder then look no more, everyone who has interacted with my vest so far has been really impressed with its quality!
I have been a regular runner for the past 20 years and as such have owned a good few running belts, vests and backpacks / hydration packs in the past.
Having received this UTOBEST running hydration vest I can say that it is well made with strong stitching and good quality albeit small clasps. It’s made from lightweight and breathable material and has plenty of storage with the 10L large pocket on the back and the multitude of pockets on the front of both shoulder straps. The 2L hydration bladder included is of equal quality.
I ordered the vest in size Medium-Large (ML). I am 5ft 11″ in height with a 43″ chest and the vest fits me ok, though I would not want it to be much smaller, with the bottom of the vest coming down to near bottom of ribcage (please see photo).
On the front of the vest on the left and right side there is a zipped secured pocket which is just about big enough to fit a mobile phone, my standard iphone 13 fits in ok in its case (please see photos).
Also on the left and right hand side there is an open pocket which is designed to place collapsible water bottles (not supplied) and / or other things you might want easy access to whilst running such as energy gels, snacks.or a bigger phone that may not fit in the zipped pockets.
On the rear of the vest there is a large pocket that spans the height and width of the rear of the vest (please see photo). This would be particularly useful for hiking / long endurance runs where you might want to carry more stuff with you than you would for a mid to long distance run for example.
The vest itself provides a comfortable fit when used for running. There is nothing worse when running than being constantly aware of wearing something because it is moving about as you are running and the weight distribution is not great. On this vest because of the stretch in the material, the adjustable side and front straps and its relatively slim design it holds tight against your body.
Please see photos included with this review for how to open and fill the hydration balder, install the hydration bladder in the bag, and fit and remove the tube from the bladder.
The only real improvement I would have like to see if for the pocket where the hydration bladder sits to be foil lined to help keep drink cool. With it being right next to your back and without insulation as you get hot when exercising so will your drink.
I do recommend this running vest but for the above reasons give it a 4 star rating but feel it is better suited to long distance hiking, cycling or super endurance length runs.
As a diabetic, this is very hand to have on my person, the pouch holds 2L which is… well, a lot.
The backpack is comfy and the straps have a lot of movement which should allow a comfortable fit for people of most sizes, there is a section that can hold the waterpouch and it has a fair few additional pockets for your storing needs.
Now, onto the waterpouch itself, the sealing mechanism is very secure, holding it upside down, squeezing it etc, not a drop of water escaped from it, the drinking tube that connects to the pouch and to the mouthpiece is also very well made, when the water tube is connected to the pouch no water escaped from either end… when the watertube is removed a few drops fall from the tube end but not from the pouch so as far as I can tell it’s basically watertight.
All in all you get what you see and functions as advertised.
However, there are 2 negative things I’d say it has:
1) A ever so slight odd taste to the water, before use I washed it out and ran water through the mouthpiece but it still has a slight odd taste to it, even after 4 uses and refills there is a vague taste to the water, its not offensive or off-putting but it so ever so slightly different. (This might be normal for waterpouches, however this is my first one so please bare with me as a newbie)
2) The mouthpiece/water tube connector is covered in fabric, this is not an issue of itself but without being able to see the tube I’m concerned about possible backwash causing mould or other growth later down the line, especially since the tube/pouch are not insulated and will be room temperature (more or less) at all times.
(I will edit/update this should I learn anything new about it’s uses)
This is a great quality hydration pack with a removable water bladder.
I have a 45 inch chest and this is straining to close, I use it unclipped as otherwise it just seems tight.
To look at it looks like a kids size, but I’ve never used a running vest previously so I’m used to hydration packs in a rucksack so different set up.
Manufacturing quality is superb and the materials all seem high quality with the pack having good stitching etc.
Overall its a good vest, with a fantastic water bladder, just seems a little on the snug side sizing wise.
I love mountains, walking and running. I rarely go without a bag full of kit. That can be a pain, especially when you run and everything bounces up and down.
I have a few running belts, but this is really interesting and the only vest type arrangement that has an integrated water pack. Its taken me a while to really get to understand how this is supposed to be warn and used as the instructions are non-existent. Even the photos on Amazon only hint at elements without really showing.
It took a while to work out how to open the bag and shut it to get water in. I gave it a good wash out first, but water always has a bit of a plastic taste when you first use. The I was confused as to where the water bottle went, thinking it was in the waterproof section at the back, where as it should go in closed to your back from above and then clipped on. Its all a bit of trial and error. That in place I was able to thread through the drinking pipe. It all worked well.
Easy to adjust the straps to suit my chest size. That done it was time to look at the other features. Nice idea to have the car keys hanging at the top of the water protected section, surely the driest place they could be. Plenty of pockets for snacks, dog food and iphone.
I note the side straps for holding trekking poles. I didn’t try but its nice to have options.
As well as the dry bag at the back there is a place for short term storage, say of jumpers or spare rain jackets.
2 litres is also a generous amount of water to bring, making it suitable for longer walks.
In all, I was very impressed. Its exceptionally lightweight (except if you are carry water), yet really does everything I think I would need. Ideal for avoiding stopping to drink. With this you can keep going with water and snack bars.
This is well designed running vest with backpack, very comfortable to wear and made in nylon and polyester.
This is great if you are running far away from home or trekking and you don’t need the burden of uncomfortable weight but you still want to carry your bits and pieces.
It’s so multi functional and versatile as well as looking good too.
It’s waterproof and can be adjusted to your chest size. It comes with hydration pack and a hydration bladder. It has lots of pockets , which also keep separating wet staff from dry.
As a first time runner, I found it difficult to run and hold bottles at the same time and hold things in my pocket like my phone and keys which would fall out. I needed a bag that didn’t feel bulky or like I was carrying extra weight, looked stylish and I could run with ease. This bag is perfect for all of these reasons!
It even came with a small stop whistle, which originally was on a strap but fell off- I keep it in the pocket now. The back also has room for keeping flat compact things (maybe a runners bottle?) but I only use the front, which is plenty for me!
Now whenever I go on a run, I throw this on, stash my things inside and I’m good to go!
Needed a lightweight backpack on the quick for a canal run. Arrived promptly and felt comfortable. It has plenty of pockets to fit small items that are easily accessible without having to take the backpack off. My spare clothes got wet with sweat so didn’t protect very well, I’d recommend getting an inner bag to protect your clothes/accessories although it was a very hot day. All in all a good product for the price paid and did its job.
I bought this backpack firstly because of the low price and when it arrived I wasn’t disappointed. Straight out of the box it felt and looked like a more expensive bag. Tons of storage for my trail runs. Keeps everything secure and safe. I’ve used a bladder and soft flasks on different runs and both options work perfectly.
Enough room in the large pocket in the back for rain jacket, hat, gloves, first-aid kit and snacks. There’s a smaller pocket inside for my phone and keys. On the front pockets are perfect for quick grab items… Snacks again for me
Super lightweight and comfortable to run in.
Highly recommend.
Loved this little pack – it ensured that I only took the most necessary items with me because it is so compact. I did not use the hydration pack as I do not like the taste of plastic, instead I carried a spare shirt and my bottle of water. I loved this bag because of the pockets a the front for easy access. I’ve rated this 4 star only because the pockets at the front do have limited space – for example it has a zip pocket and bottle pouch – but when you have your wallet or phone in zip pocket it limits space for the bottle pocket. Overall I was happy and satisfied as were other cyclist!
For the price this is an amazing bag. I usually use an inov8 running bag and to be honest I find this just as good. It does have a few quirks – for example, you can only really fit 350 ml water bottles in the front 2 pockets and I usually carry 500ml ones. I decided to just use a 1.5ltr in the back and it fit nicely and felt good on my back with no crazy jigging. The front 2 zip pockets are huge and you could easily get 3 or 4 gels in as they are nice and deep. The fabric is very lightweight and seems breathable. I was able to find the perfect fit with the 2 adjusters plus the side adjusters and it didn’t rub or ride around on a 16-mile cross country run. It has a small zipped compartment in the back which is still accessible with a water bladder in for a few small things, but to be honest I thought I had enough space for anything I needed in the front pockets. Overall you can’t go wrong for the price.
