This GoPro extension stick and tripod arrived in a cardboard box. Inside the box was the tripod, a thumb-screw to attach the camera to the tripod, and a black wrist strap.
The tripod is made from aluminium and plastic. It can be used as a tripod, or as an extension stick, or both. There is a button on the bottom of the tripod which you press, and then push the three legs outwards to open the tripod. The legs have rubber on the ends so they do not move or slip. It can be a bit stiff trying to push the button and then push the legs outwards.
The body of the stick can be pulled upwards to the desired length. It can be adjusted between 17cm and 51cm in length. The wrist strap included can be attached to the stick so you can easily carry it around. It is lightweight and can either carry it or place it into a bag.
The tripod and stick is good quality even though it is lightweight, and seems study enough so that it won’t break even if you drop it or knock it over. It is ideal to use when recording a video on the GoPro or other compatible camera, and can be easily taken around with you.
I have a GoPro and it holds it very nicely.
The tripod stand has a small base but it stays stable for better videos. The length of this stick is just 52cm hence it is not useful to shoot in a standing position but an ideal option for making vlogging videos where a higher surface is available.
One small problem is that since this is lightweight, It doesn’t hold the weight of the camera in the wind situation outdoor
Overall, a good-quality selfie stick for both photos and videos.
Although we haven’t used it yet ourselves, our daughter used it to go to Egypt on holiday. She has had a gopro for years and said that this was the most versatile grip she has used.
I had initially thought by looking at the picture, it was three seperate pieces…
So when it arrived and it was just the camera stick, I thought that my order was incorrect, or that another driver was going to bring the rest [I don’t know why, just for the record].
Then something in my head said: “Why is the handle split like that?!”
Well as it turns out, it opens out to be the base of the tripod itself… [Shh, I know]
I digress.
I like this tripod-handle idea, and it’s built with great quality.
I have no issues with it looking like it may topple at any moment.
Strong and well built. Far superior in its overall quality compared to the GoPro Shorty (which broke, hence i looked for an alternative and found this). So far I am very happy.
