The fan is not PWM and is always at full blast, but not too noisy and it does keep the Pi at a good temperature. The hat also provides enough power for the Pi to work even under full load.
L’HAT PoE di Waveshare si dimostrato essenziale per il mio cluster Raspberry Pi 5. perfettamente compatibile con dispositivi aggiuntivi come gli SSD NVMe, garantendo una tensione stabile senza surriscaldamenti. La sua versatilit si estende anche alla conservazione delle porte per altre schede. In un mese di utilizzo su 5 nodi, non si mai surriscaldato, offrendo una potenza costante e affidabile. Essenziale per gestire dispositivi su rack senza perdita di funzionalit. Per la sua affidabilit e adattabilit, merita sicuramente una valutazione di 5 stelle.
Fits perfectly and doesn’t subtract from the utility of the rest of the system. Plus, keeps the header intact for other boards though I haven’t tried to run any others with it yet.
It works as advertised. Great to simplify your setup especially if you will be running multiple units to get rid of cable clutter and power supplies. Fixed speed fan. Would be nice if it had the option to spin down to zero and spin up as needed. Convenient extension of GPIO for stacking another HAT.
Il modulo HAT fornito da Waveshare consente di alimentare il Raspberry PI 5 attraverso la connessione Ethernet PoE. Alimenta correttamente anche dispositivi aggiunti quali SSD NVMe. Poich Raspberry Pi non ha ancora un HAT ufficiale per Pi 5, prodotti di terze parti come questo sono essenziali per gestire il dispositivo su rack. In quasi un mese di utilizzo il dispositivo ha sempre mantenuto una tensione stabile senza nessun problema di surriscaldamento o di caduta di tensione sotto carichi pesanti. Un accessorio da avere , 5 stelle meritate.
Ayant besoin d’une alimentation stable et puissante pour mon cluster Raspberry Pi 5 quip de stockage SSD, j’ai choisi le chapeau PoE Waveshare. J’avais pour objectif d’optimiser les performances de mon systme tout en assurant une dissipation de chaleur efficace.
Le chapeau PoE offre une alimentation conforme aux normes IEEE 802.3af/at, permettant ainsi de fournir la fois une connexion rseau et une alimentation lectrique via un seul cble Ethernet. De plus, son systme de refroidissement actif haute vitesse, associ un dissipateur thermique en mtal, assure une dissipation optimale de la chaleur, garantissant ainsi des performances stables et fiables.
Point positif : L’installation du chapeau est simple et ne bloque pas les broches GPIO du Raspberry Pi 5, tandis que le ventilateur intgr fonctionne de manire silencieuse, assurant ainsi un fonctionnement discret.
Bien que le chapeau PoE soit de bonne qualit, certains utilisateurs ont not des limitations concernant son systme de refroidissement. En effet, l’adaptateur n’est pas compatible avec le systme de refroidissement d’origine du Raspberry Pi 5, ncessitant l’installation du module de refroidissement fourni avec le chapeau.
Point ngatif : De plus, le radiateur de refroidissement fourni ne peut tre fix via une vis, ce qui peut poser des problmes lors du remplacement.
En conclusion, le chapeau PoE Waveshare est une solution efficace pour fournir une alimentation stable et puissante votre Raspberry Pi 5, tout en assurant une dissipation de chaleur adquate. Malgr quelques limitations lies au systme de refroidissement, il reste un choix solide pour ceux qui recherchent une solution PoE fiable et performante.
Es liegen keine Abstandhalterchen bei, um den HAT mit dem PI ber die Schraublcher zu verbinden. Wie ich feststellen musste, hlt das aber auch ohne erstaunlich gut.
Die GPIO-Pins stehen sehr weit ber, sodass der Raspi mit dem HAT nicht mehr ins Rack passt. Ich hab die Pins jetzt abgeknipst, wohlwissentlich, dass ich sie wohl nie wieder sinnvoll drankriegen werde.
I’ve been running these for a few days now and they are powering perfectly with PoE from a TPlink 5 port PoE+ switch. The setup I have is 3 Pi5 each with a PoE hat and each with an NVME base. There have been no power issues.
The only issue that I have, and caused me to take one star off, was that one of the fans died fairly quickly. I luckily had a spare of the same size on hand. They are the same size as the Pi fans out there 30x30x7.5 mm 5v two pin..
Note these are coming from China, so plan some time in shipping.
The hat comes with everything you need to mount it, including a big heat sink that covers the chips on the board, and thermal padding.
Mounting it is super easy, and it doesn’t block the GPIO pins. It does significantly increase the height of your board but there are aluminum cases for RPi 5 here on Amazon that fit beautifully.
The hat has a built-in fan that is very quiet.
I used this with two different Unifi PoE switches and it worked flawlessly.
Like many I bought a Pi 5 and needed it to be powered by PoE. I was a bit disappointed to find that there wasn’t an official PoE hat that would fit so I purchased this. I’ve got to say I’m really impressed! the hat feels really well made, and it’s great that it incorporates a 12v rail as well as 5v. I like that it includes a heatsink that fits underneath as I’ll be using it in a confined space where ventilation will be limited, and I’m particularly pleased that it is supplied with proper thermal pads rather than the cheap double sided tape stuff that some other passive cooling products use. I’ve recommended to a friend.
