Setting the DVD drive up was fairly easy, though the tiny instruction manual gave minimal information. It was also in about 3 point type so my old eyes could not read it without a magnifying glass. Once I had the drive set up it worked fine. Push the little button in front and the drawer pops open. Snap in the DVD or CD and push the drawer shut. The file comes up on the desktop as it should. when done eject tej DVD and the draw pops open. You have to pull it all the way open yourself. It is a basic type of drive but it does the job.
It is NOT a blu-ray payer and does not pretend to be, so that is no surprise. It works for reading and burning regular DVD’s and CD’s. I have noticed that occasionally, when I close the tray, it pops out again and I must close it again. I’m not sure why that happens. As advertised, it simply works straight out of the box with nothing to download or install.
There are no instructions on how to ‘safely remove’ the device once plugged in and there is no OFF switch. I assume it can simply be hot-swapped in and out. It comes with its own USB power cord for situations where the USB port you use for data transfer doesn’t have enough power but I didn’t need to use the extra power adapter. As others have stated, the USB connector attached to the optical drive is very short! I have to place the drive on top of my tower because the cord is not long enough to reach the table-top the computer tower sits on. As long as it keeps working, I’ll be happy because the price was right.
Fijn product. Werkt zoals beschreven sowieso voor audio CD’s, heb het nog niet getest met een DVD. Verzending was snel en het product is ook heel aangenomen.
USB C kabel is ook handig, heb het nog niet geprobeerd met mijn telefoon maar dat zal wel werken.
Extra poorten op de achterkant zijn ook super.
