The platform of this monitor stand is metal, and the four legs are made of two telescoping plastic tubes. There are ball bearing detents that must be pushed hard to enable the legs to adjust in height. Unfortunately, the tubes are a loose fit and when fully assembled, tend to wobble slightly.
There’s no danger that anything will collapse but I’d still rather the legs were a bit more solid. I have them set to the middle position with a 24″ monitor sat on top, and the little bit of wobble combines with the little bit of wobble in the monitor which means there is a noticeable amount of movement when the desk is nudged. Like I say, nothing will collapse, and you might not care if the price is right.
The stand looks smart and does the job it’s intended for and is handy if you need to travel with it as it packs down small.
This is quite a good little shelf. The only problem is that it is lighter than I thought it would be. Good for what I want it for; however, I would not fancy moving it around. I don’t know if it would withstand a lot of movement.
