Awesome lens BUT even though I followed the instructions to the T, this lens is NOT compatible with Canon EOS M50. Shutter button will not operate to take pictures or videos.
I got the product first come in is wrong size. Not fit with my camera, but after I contact the Amazo, the seller respond almost immediately and try to find out which part got mess up. And comfirmed it’s their problem with out any question. And I recieved the new one couple days later. And fit my camera and any thing runs good. But before your purchase this lens,be aware that this lens is OEM one and NO AUTO FOCUS function. Even the camera will not reconize your new lens. So, make sure you change your camera setting to not to detect lens or you’ll not able to use it on your camera even the mount is fit. But on me, I don’t use auto focus a lot, so it’s fit my needed and after couple shot, looks pretty good for me so I like it.
This is a good lens for the price you paid, Is my main lean for photography I have others lens but I feel very comfortable using it even though is a manual lens. I’m not a photographer I am still learning photography with my EOS REBEL T7 DSLR
I am pleasantly surprised by how well it performs for such an inexpensive lens. My only gripe is that the listed 72mm filter size is really for the hood that came with the camera, not the lens itself.
The actual filter size for the lens is 55mm. This isn’t printed on the lens, box, or paperwork as you would expect, but I have a variety of filters and was able to match a 55mm filter to the lens. This is important information if you want to use filters directly on the lens.
Otherwise, I’m happy with the lens.
Ok, so I’m not going to try and make out like I’m some ort of professional photographer, far from it, I’m just a basic amateur that likes to take photos on holiday, or when out and about for a walk etc so forgive me if I don’t deep dive into all sorts of technical detail.
It comes packaged well with a booklet, cleaning cloth and a small plastic bag to keep it in.
This 85mm f1.8 medium telephoto lens fits my Canon 2000D perfectly, and when set to manual mode it works exactly as I’d expect it to.
As it’s a manual lens you do need to focus this yourself, which I admit, I’m not used to doing, but it simple enough to work out.
I’ve just playing around with it so far but have taken some nice shots of my partner and friends and the pictures show great detail of the people with the background being slightly out of focus or having good ‘bokeh’ I think the professional term is. I’ve also taken some landscape pictures, and wildlife shots.
It works well in low light too, but I’m still learning and I’m working out how to adjust the f-stop to get the images I want.
Overall, I’d say this is a great lens, it captures what I want with super clarity and is teaching me a lot along the way.
Using this with an EF to RF adapter and my EOS R10 mirrorless camera. The pens is fully manual but I shoot manual often enough that I’m used to the work flow associated with shooting sans electronic assistance.
The 1.8 aperture is absolutely wonderful and gives a gorgeous bokeh for portraits.
Image quality is superb and build quality of the lens is far better than I expected for the low $76 price tag.
Recommended.
