Was quite tricky to used, keep the backing on and peel it off gradually as you press it in place. Really hope it works and repels slugs. Only time will tell.

Tricky to put on but fine once you get the hang of it. So far so good – no slugs in any coppered pot! It’s been on for a few weeks in clouding one week away and seems to be doing the job.

Had lots of slugs but none have climbed up my fruit and veg tubs. Tape is a bit flimsy but once you get the hang of it, it sticks well. I went round my pots twice just to make sure. Fingers crossed

Only just applied it so too early to say if it will work. Fingers crossed. It was a bit fiddly to apply around rims of pots but that’s a small problem.

Not sure if it’s a coincidence we’ve not had anymore slugs in the kitchen if if the tape is working and preventing them.
It’s easy to use and good adhesive on the back of it. Not expensive and plenty on a roll. So far, so good.

I am hoping that this will work to repel the many slugs and snails in my garden that decimated some plants last year. I have tried putting it round empty pots,on the inside and out, and put them around the very vulnerable plants. Fingers crossed that it will put them off.

I was dubious about copper tape. I have 1 plant that in the spring sprouts so many new leaves the slugs think they are having a party on it. Not anymore. I’ve placed the tape around it onto the soil and have held it down with stones ensuring that the stones don’t make a bride for the slugs to climb over. The stones are holding it down on the outside of the tape. No more parties foe the slugs and my plant has not been nibbled. I will be placing it around my flower pots soon, soo happy it works 🙂

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersCopper tape – when the right type – is a perfect eco-friendly deterrent to slugs and snails (whilst being of no danger to other insects or animals in the garden).

This copper tape is nice and wide – 5.5cm – a key factor in being an effective deterrent. 10m length is supplied in the roll and applying it is easy enough; peel off the adhesive backing and stick to your pots. I’ve applied it round terracotta pots and wooden troughs in a continuous loop to prevent the slimy molluscs sliding over. And so far it seems to be working. Whilst the slugs are not at their most active yet, so far the leaves of my seedlings seem untouched.

A couple of points to note; the tape is thin; I tore it when taking out from the roll. And applying it smoothly seems impossible; it crinkles like aluminium foil so you’re going to get a wrinkled effect no matter how careful you are.

But so far so good. I’ll update the review later in the season with an update on how the deterrent is working.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wide 5.5cm tape seems to be an effective deterrent so far. But hard to avoid wrinkled appearance.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our Usersarrived promptly, great value for money and easy to put on provide you go slow as tape easily sticks to itself and folds back. However the slugs continue to rampage through my hostas. i might just be unlucky i might try another row of tape below the first one see if they get across two rows of tape. Fingers crossed.
