Enegon EL15 Battery: High-Capacity & Universally Compatible with Canon Cameras
Power Bank Freedom
With a power bank, the Enegon Battery charges anywhere, letting you shoot longer without missing a beat.
These batteries are ideal if you are not sure when you will next be near mains power source and you are travelling light – they can be charged from any USB source (car adapter, power bank etc.) without the need to carry any additional charging kit – it also means you can connect them to a power bank in your kitbag whilst you are on the move to keep them topped up so you always have plenty of spare capacity.
My original batteries were coming to the end of their life as my camera was not lasting anywhere near as long as it once was. Got these batteries and the difference is huge. No longer having to turn the camera off to try and save battery as these last plenty long enough. The extra one is very useful too for multi day photo shoot trips. Highly recommend.
These batteries work exactly like you would expect them to and hold charge really well.
The absolutely best feature is that they can charge by USB cable directly in to the battery, which means that you can use a mobile phone power pack to charge the battery on a location shoot for example or in the car.
These work flawlessly in my D610 and I would be more than happy to buy another set.
Recommended.
They take ages to run out (like, way more pictures on one go thanks to the 1600mAh). No more panicking about the camera dying halfway through a shoot — that’s a massive relief. Even better, they don’t need a separate charger! You can just plug them straight into any USB-C cable. Makes travelling a breeze, no need to pack a bulky charger.
Great replacement batteries for Nikon camera. They fit perfectly for a aftermarket product and they battery life is really good as is the charge time. I’d say they’re almost on par with the orginals.
Very happy indeed
The ENEGON EN-EL25/EN-EL25A USB-C Direct Charging Replacement Batteries have been a game-changer for me in my photography journey with my Nikon Z Series camera. Their reliability and long-lasting performance have allowed me to capture countless moments without worrying about running out of power. The convenience of USB-C direct charging has been especially handy, as I can easily charge them on the go using a power bank or laptop. With the included 2-in-1 USB-C charging cable, I have everything I need for uninterrupted shooting sessions. Overall, these batteries have truly enhanced my photography experience, offering both quality and convenience at a great value.
This is a review of “ENEGON EN-EL15/EL15a/b/c USB C Direct Charging Replacement Batteries 2100mAh (2-Pack) with 2 in 1 USB-C Charging Cable for Nikon D7100, D750, D7000, D7200, D610, D880, D810, D800, D600, Z5, Z6, Z7”
These are the second non-OEM EN-EL15 batteries I have tried that have the USB charging port.
I’ve no idea why Nikon (and indeed other major camera suppliers) do not adopt this concept of direct charging via USB – it’s so much handier than having to carry a charger when travelling.
These batteries work fine in my Z6 and Z7 – as advertised. They also seem to last about the same amount of time before a recharge is needed.
I’ve yet to try them in my newly-acquired Z8, which I am still getting to grips with. I don’t actually expect them to work in it as it’s much fussier about third-party batteries but that’s fine as these aren’t claimed to be compatible.
EDIT: I have tried these in my Z8 and they appear to work fine. I think I’ll restrict their use to my Z7/Z6 for now, just to see if there are any overheating issues, but this is promising.
Great value for money at the current price.

Note: As a member of the Vine program I was supplied with this item free of charge. I will always provide an impartial and fair review of the product in question. My rating system is as follows:
5 Stars — an exceptionally good, high quality product with no perceived shortcomings
4 stars — a very good product that met my expectations
3 stars — a product which could be better in some respects, but is still fit for purpose
2 stars – a product with significant shortcomings, one which disappointed
1 star – an absolute disaster of a product that should not be on sale
These batteries so far have been incredibly practical because they’re 1600 milliamps battery capacity ensures that my camera stays powered for the extended photo sessions.
The usb direct charging feature is very practical and it allows me to charge my batteries without having to carry an external charger all the time with me because I can easily use the same cable I charge the rest of the devices.
The dual pack means that I always have a spare battery ready and most of the time when I’m filming videos one of the batteries is working and the other one is charging. These batteries have been so far reliable and I like that I can count on them because they hold pretty well and also they charge in around 30 minutes which allows me to use my camera for longer periods of time.
The ‘ENEGON EN-EL15/EL15a/b/c USB C Direct Charging Replacement Batteries 2100mAh (2-Pack) with 2 in 1 USB-C Charging Cable’ arrived in a branded box that also contained instructions.
I have used Energon brand rechargeable batteries similar to these on other cameras I have. In this case these are for a Nikon D7200 and associated battery grip. The battery was a good fit in the camera and I have included pictures of the battery in an after-market battery grip.
I have also included pictures of the Energon battery alongside a genuine Nikon battery.
Having the ability to charge these batteries without the need for a ‘mains adaptor’, or ‘USB adaptor’, means one less item to carry.
I got these batteries for use in my Nikon D500. When I take photos I’m usually out all day, either at a motorsport event or something aviation related.
Yesterday I was at Donington Park for some motorsport so I charged these up the night before and put one in the camera in the morning. I took over 2000 photos and still had two bars left on the first battery! they perform better than the original Nikon battery that the camera came with (although that is only 1900mAh) but for the cost of these two you wouldn’t even get one genuine battery!
And that’s before I even get to the USB-C charging port which is such a handy feature, meaning you can easily charge them when you’re out the house for a prolonged period using a USB power bank. They come with a cable which splits from the USB-A into 2 USB-C cables so you can charge both batteries at the same time.
Overall I am massively impressed with these batteries, they’ll be my main batteries from now on!
These batteries are great as they can be charged with a charge bank via the usb port. Its a very useful feature that means you can charge them on the go should you run out of juice and cant plug in a mains charger. They also charge in the normal way using the Nikon charger.
I have been using them for a few days now in place of the original batteries and haven’t noticed any difference in battery life. They’re working flawlessly in my D7200 and I am very pleased with them. I’d definitely recommend them.
PROS
-really convenient to have USB-C charging built in
-charging indicator LED
-at 25.99 for two (plus a 10% voucher), this is a very good value for 3rd party batteries (and is way less than Nikon originals)
-convenient 2-headed USB-C cable
-testing showed the built-in USB-C port would charge at 8.12W (4.90V at 1.68A). My low-end charger was 5.66W (4.98V at 1.14A). But the winner is in-camera (Nikon Z8) at 10.88W (15.00V at 0.73A). It’s still more convenient to charge externally from the camera, so I’m really happy with the built-in charging capacities of these batteries

CONS
-USB-C port on battery “grinds” a little bit when I put in USB-C cables, or I take them out. A bit concerning, as I’ve never had a USB-C port behave this way
-slightly less capacity than my Nikon EN-EL15c batteries (not much less though)
MY STAR RATINGS:
1* substandard, mostly cons
2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros
3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros
4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons
5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros
I love photography and now that I use two cameras, both Nikon, they need different types of batteries. Which is a pain.
These batteries fit perfect and they last surprisingly well
I do recommend these
A good value for two batteries with a built in USB-C charger
Nicely made replacements for Nikon EL25 batteries – both arrived at a little over half charge ( as expected
so no undue drain in storage) and charged from a standard USB-C supply with an indicator led for statur/
Seems excellent (and charging is an improvement on the originals! )
This is a decent 3rd party set of batteries at a good price considering the capacity. They have the advantage of being able to be recharged via USB-C, which cuts down on accessories to carry.
In the box you get the two batteries and a single USB-A to twin USB-C cable. It’s great to charge two up at the same time (albeit probably slightly slower than doing them individually) but great for overnight if you want both topped up and fresh without having to switch them over at midnight!
Batteries fit my Nikon D7500 perfectly, don’t get jammed and are immediately recognised. Battery health is shown at 100% too. Last pretty well, I can only assume they are a true 2100mAh capacity, seem every bit as good as 1900mAh batteries I’ve been using recently.
No trouble using flash and my combination of Sigma and Nikon lenses (one other brand had trouble focussing my Nikon 70-200, but these work fine).
Good value and easy to recharge. No need to carry a separate charger with me any more.
Batteries arrived well packed in a cardboard box bearing the Enegon branding.
In the box you get two Nikon Z compatible batteries and a short USB A to 2 USB C charging cable.
Batteries are rated at 1600mAh so have a slightly larger capacity than the Nikon originals.
Well finished and moulded with no rough edges or moulding flash and both batteries fitted into my Nikon Z50 neatly and without any obvious slop.
Batteries charged quickly using a standard 5w phone charger and in use there is no noticeable difference from the Nikon originals.
Good value for a set of two.
The ENEGON EN-EL14 USB C Direct Charging Replacement Batteries 1600mAh are great for on-the-go photography. They’re fully compatible with my Nikon camera and I can recharge them with a USB battery bank when I’m out in the woods. This is a huge advantage over the original Nikon batteries, which require a separate charger. The ENEGON batteries also have a higher capacity than the original Nikon batteries, so I can get more shots on a single charge. This is especially important when I’m shooting in remote locations where I don’t have access to an outlet.
