Bought 2. Fitted by back door can have a selection of colours but left mine on white which you can dim. Good quality camera very please with purchase would order again and recommend
Never had a camera previously. Great quality videos. Lots of options on timings, field of coverage etc Failed after less than two weeks, returned to Amazon for full credit.
Purchased second unit which is working fine
Love the camera footage as well as the brightness and adaptability of the colour options. It’s a great product, only downside is the fiddly screws on the side to fix the light to the base plate. Make sure you have room on both sides to get a screwdriver in as they are really tiny. Fortunately they give you a couple of spares. Other than that easy to set up and install and a really good security product.
Plenty of storage built in, good picture quality both day and night. AI recognition works perfectly, reacts only when human detected, from further away then claimed range. Very easy to use app that also works with their doorbell. Ability to set precise detection and privacy zones. Light very bright with separate setting for manual and motion detection switch on plus schedules.
This is a really good camera. I had a electrician to fit it, only because he offered, but my husband said he felt confident that he could have done it. It doesn’t look intrusive next to the front door and it certainly lights up the front garden and drive from dusk till dawn. The images are clear both in real time and in play back. Very pleased with it. I have already recommended it to family and friends.
This is a neat all-in-one solution for security by a front-door, side or back-door. Picture quality is decent, both in colour during the day and in B&W at night with the auto night-vision feature enabled. The detection (PIR) is good, and fast. I have the sensitivity set one step back from ‘High’, and get the ‘ping’ on my Eufy app as soon as someone is on the path, before they reach the door. So far I’ve had very few, if any, false triggers.
The camera angle can be adjusted horizontally, though not by much, by swivelling the whole unit on its mount. In practice, this limited adjustment is not a problem as the camera’s field of view is so wide. There is no vertical adjustment on the camera, so pay attention to the recommended fitting height range to avoid cut-off heads.
At full power, the lights are super-bright (though they can be adjusted for brightness and hue). Top and bottom lights are independently adjustable for horizontal angle, over nearly 360, so you can widen the coverage, or do as I have and have the lower one facing the wall, illuminating our house number. Even just the one light throws plenty of illumination down the path. The lights can be programmed in a number of ways – on at dusk, off at dawn or PIR triggered after dark , or on a custom schedule where you set the on/off times. They can also be turned on ad-hoc via the app. There’s also a selection of ‘party’ modes where they will flash and glow in different colours – liven up that summer garden party!
There is a talk-back feature, which works pretty well through the app. There’s a slight lag, and you wouldn’t want to have a protracted conversation over it, but it’s quite sufficient to tell a courier where to leave a parcel or give the bum’s rush to a doorstep hustler without going to the door. Sound is recorded by default on clips.
Storage is on-board and non-expandable, unless you invest in Eufy’s Homebase system. However, if needed, video clips can be quickly and simply downloaded onto your phone, via the app, for sharing or archiving.
It could be easier to fit. The entire outer casing of the unit, including the mounting baseplate, is plastic and hence has a degree of flex. Once it’s all assembled, it’s fine. BUT… through bitter experience, I can tell you that attempting to mount it on anything other than a perfectly flat, smooth surface will result in the base-plate distorting, and consequently the main unit not fitting correctly. I found this out the hard way when I tried to fix it direct to brickwork. Once screwed down, the couple of millimetres of un-evenness between bricks was sufficient to throw the baseplate ever-so-slightly out of whack, thus preventing the main unit snapping-on properly, and stopping the two tiny screw-holes (which enable the fixing of the two elements together) aligning properly. The solution was to find a small piece of wood, about 12 x 12cm and 1cm thick, screw it to the wall and then fix the baseplate to that. Result: the main unit snapped nicely onto the baseplate, and the screw holes lined up. Beware: the fixing screws are the tiniest and shortest you’ve ever seen. They look like they belong in a watch. Two are required, and Eufy supply four – a clear acknowledgement that you are going to drop at least one and never see it again. Use a magnetic screwdriver, for goodness sake. I really don’t know why they couldn’t use something a bit bigger, and more robust.
It runs on mains power, and the cable access is through the back of the mount. So unless you’re replacing an existing light fitting, you’ll need to factor in getting the cable to the unit.
Overall, despite my moans about the fitting process, I’m pretty happy with this.
The app works as expected, camera is great, lights are great. My one gripe is there are just two screws that hold the body to the mount, they are absolutely tiny and it’s a struggle getting them in, everything else was 5 minutes, but them two screws, very annoying
I opted for this light as I have many other Eufy products and I highly recommended them. The light itself was straightforward to install and connect to my existing Eufy security app. The interface is easy to use and lets you select exactly the area you want to detect and what you want to record. Sensitivity of the light can be changed very easily along with the colour. Cannot fault this light!
Bought this to replace a failing standard outside light by my front door. I had an integrated camera light at the rear of the house but this was made by eviz. Actually bought by mistake as I thought this was same brand, however installed it anyway and this is much better! Camera is good and clear, the light is more powerful and can be dimmed or colour changed to suit your taste. The software to set up was easy to use and it connected to my WiFi fine, actually much better than the old eviz one I have , it also maintains connection to the network better as well as WiFi can be a bit weak on the outside of your house. No problems viewing the camera from phone anywhere and it also detects humans as well as just movement. There is some AI to detect and recognise individuals so you can potentially set it to not alert you every time one of your household comes in view but to add this functionality you need to buy the home base station which allows you to store lots of footage from camera etc on it. I did not bother to buy this as light was already quite expensive and I did not need this functionality. The light has local memory that it can store enough historical camera footage for me, many weeks worth so unless you really want this functionality I would not bother. I am so happy with it I bought another to replace the old eviz one I had in the rear garden and I never normally replace things if there is nothing wrong with them! All in all I am very happy with this light. Installation was easy, if you are able to fit a normal mains powered light safely you should be able to manage this, at the very least you should be able to check that you have switched the power off to the relevant lighting circuit. If you don’t know how to do this you should probably get someone else to install it for you. All in all I highly recommend this light.
The wall light covers a large area, it was easy to fit we just replaced our old rusty one. I love that you can time the light to come on at a certain times and off at a certain time. I used this feature over Christmas, the lights came on a dusk and off at midnight it was quite effective on multi colours.. You can set them to change colour they are brilliant. I set one I (I have two) to blink blue it slowed the traffic down out side the house for sure lol. The camera is excellent as all eufy cameras. I save every thing to the eufy 3 which is brilliant. I can sit in bed and check the cameras tell the postman to leave the parcel at the door. I think this is better than to door cam. Excellent produc
This wall light is bigger than a typical Eufy products – check the dimensions before buying one. The lights are bright and customisable colors is a good feature to have. Installation was simple as like any other wired devices. I can see the motion detection system is improved compared to earlier devices. Its been working well for past 3 months. The other Eufy products I have have been working well for over 2 years now. Hope this one will last for a while. Customer service team is good and I’m impressed by their responses. A minor issue for me was it only comes in black.
Was planing to replace the back door light with one with motion sensor as we have a very secluded back garden. In my search I looked at various with cameras, which added an extra level of security. The Eufy light also stores any detection of people entering or moving in the garden and at night it simultaneously puts on the light. The app is also easy to instal and use, and I’m no expert, it warns when it detects and you can see who is or was there, it has several other features that are equally easy to navigate. It’s only been installed since 23 Oct and this is 7 Nov, very pleased with it so far.
Had existing light, took less than 5mins to take down & put up new base plate & wire up. Then took at least 10mins trying to hold the light against the wall on a ladder trying to screw in the 2mm long screws, yes I did say 2mm they are tiny, like screws for glasses. If you don’t have great dexterity in your hands this will be awkward. Shame such a design flaw when the look/quality/usability of the product is great. I really like eufy products the apps are great, but please just think about how people will install these.
Was a little larger than I expected but the lights are great and the camera is really good quality high resolution.
An easy installation replacing a naff security light. Only took 10 minutes to install and 5 minutes to setup. I already had the application as I have the eufy doorbell and two other cameras already.
Highly recommend but check the size
Pros:
– Good picture quality, even at night
– Nice lighting choices between manual control, scheduling (both time and sunset/sunrise based) and motion activation
– Motion detection zones allow you to set a custom polygon shape
Cons:
– Currently a known bug with privacy zones that causes the whole screen to be black
– Video feed timestamp isn’t colour adaptive and is always white, meaning it doesn’t show up if against a white backdrop
– No HomeKit or RTSP integration
– Privacy zones are only available in the form of a non-rotatable rectangle as opposed to the polygons used for motion detection
– Cumbersome setup process involving generating a QR code on smart phone and getting the camera to scan it. Really difficult to get the camera to scan something when you can’t see what’s in the viewfinder!
Camera and sensor have a wide field of view. When a visitor walks past, the
Motion detection is triggered, lights on, camera begins recording before the visitor is visible.
Notifications are delivered quickly with clear recordings. The light is adequate for our medium size garden when used at full brightness next to our patio doors.
Picture quality.
When using high quality live streaming, my view is not full screen.
Playback can be stretched to fill the screen if needed.
Value for money.
Look for discounts, Eufy offer deals and money off their products regularly.
Over all very happy with Eufy products and app.
Summary.
Good detection, bright white light with various colour variations, wide angled camera views with 2k playback. Good combination of a security camera, with lights that work together. Lights can be adjusted and set in different directions. Easy to use Android applicatio
I have a few outdoor Eyfy cameras and noticed this new product, my outside light had just packed in so decided to give this a go.
Installation took about an hour due to one issue, the power cable enters the unit from the back, so on an outside wall the light sits flush so I had to make a channel for the cable.
The instructions are ok, but here’s a quick and easy guide:
Use the USB cable supplied to plug into the back of the camera light, a small red light then comes on under the front camera lens, then press the reset button under the USB connector for 2 seconds, the unit springs to life, download the app if you’re new to Eufy and follow the on screen instructions, the unit then will do an upgrade then you’re ready to Mount it outside.
The picture quality is excellent, there are many light colour options, even a few dynamic colour changing ones, the white day light option is very bright at full throttle but all settings can be dimmed.
Motion detection is easy to activate.
Very pleased with this
