Does it work with a 5 GHz router?
Sorry, the DB2 doorbell camera kit does not work with 5 GHz routers. It only supports a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Connection.
What is the furthest distance chime can be placed from the doorbell?
We recommend that you place the chime within 5 metres of the doorbell to ensure good signal strength.
Is there an option to wire this doorbell?
There are U-shaped Wires and Wire Connectors in the package, so you can also choose to wire this doorbell and connect it to your existing 16/24V mechanical or electric chimes. However, the U-shaped Wires cannot be used to power the doorbell.
Does it work with Alexa?
YES! The DB2 works with Alexa, Google and IFTTT, with powerful compatibilities.

So easy to set up. So far been on the door a week amd half only dropped 2%battery during this time I have been pressing it in aid of training the dog not to react to it. Easy to charge. Good night vision and day (even when sunny)
I’m regards to performance it’s been a week but would deffinatly reccomend along woth other ezviz cameras have internally to check the dog whilst I’m at work
It is a good product overall with few downfall that could be better.
The biggest one is the picture quality on night vision mode. It is so poor that my porch is in total darkness. From dusk till down. It beed enhanced night vision performances.
The other is sensibility. Even on the lowest level it still detect every single car passing by in the street prompting me over 99 notification oer day.
It’s easy to set up, it works smoothly and has a good quality picture, battery lasts around 3 months, may not be the cheapest, or the one with best quality, but overall it’s good value for money and I would recommend.
Picture quality is good but there is too long a delay in the voice communication. It’s a bit of hassle to set up … surely these days it should be set up so works straight out of box…
The manual is very basic, but once the app is downloaded and the QR code Scanned, everything sets up really well and pretty quick. Any issues can be sorted on the Chat facility in the app.
Video quality looks good (Only just fitted) still need to see night time quality.
Fur the price it seems great. Let’s see how it goes over time?
I chose EZVIZ as I already had some of their cameras and I like the fact that I can have them all under one storage subscription. This doorbell is very easy to use, although can be a little glitchy sometimes. The camera video quality is very good although the talkback feature when people ring the doorbell can take a while to load which can be frustrating if there is someone at the door and you aren’t home. It does run solely off WiFi so if your internet connection isn’t the best or if your WiFi goes down a lot then be prepared to not have a working doorbell. I like the chime options and overall I am happy with my purchase.
A very good doorbell package that gives me clear video, a linked chime and local storage (via SD card).
Installation instructions aren’t great but once up and running the bell is doing a great job.
Arrived well packaged, slightly larger than I expected, as its like a tv remote control size NOT a small discrete little box. Seems sturdily made out of decent plastic and nicely finished.
Following the set up instructions was a little daunting as the Chinese to english translation was typically a bit hit and miss!
However, it self installed quickly, the wifi link worked immediately and the whole process was pretty simple. However, adding a second user was much trickier than expected or needed to be requiring multiple security authorisations and clicks on links. NOT necessary for a doorbell. Just a one time code to a mobile phone should be enough, 2fa is overkill.
Once installed seems to work ok, although video playback and storage really requires stupidly expensive proprietary cloud at 2.99 @ month, which is a lot when 15gb with Google is 79p!
You can use an sd card though in the wifi link box.
Overall, pretty good, if a little clunky! 8/10
UPDATED 15/1/23: I fitted our new DB2 doorbell a few weeks ago. Executive summary is that the device is well designed and good value, but certain installation scenarios are problematic and the Android app is was buggy at first, but support identified and fixed the problem I was seeing.
In more detail:
One of the reasons I decided on this model was inclusion of the inclined mounting plates. However, the supplied screws are not long enough to fix these plates, and finding others that were both long enough and with a small enough head was not easy. Eventually found some at Screwfix. Note that I contacted EZVIZ Support about this and they were hopeless and failed to understand the issue.
The design of the device, with the wireless chime and local storage is very good – I’m not in favour of paying subscriptions for cloud storage so this is perfect.
Once installed it worked well enough. The picture is sharp although, in my situation, daytime callers are backlit and their faces are quite dark.
The app was where the problem lay. I have installed it on my Android 13 phone and have disabled battery optimisation for the app as recommended. The app works well enough but then, every day or 2, push notifications stopped working. The only way to get them working again was to force stop the app and start it again. The same issue affected my wife’s Android 13 phone as well. Reading the reviews for the app in the Google Play store, other people are also getting the same problem.
I reported this to EZVIZ Support. It took a couple of weeks and some toing and froing, but they ultimately made a fix and it has worked perfectly since then.
Taking everything into consideration, a 5* product.
I purchased an Ezviz BC1 wireless security system with x3 cameras and once mounted felt the front door
(whilst covered from a distance by the BC 1 camera) could use enhancement so the logical choice for me was to add the wireless DB2 doorbell system.
There have been several videos on how to install this on You Tube and to be fair I did watch most of them but again because there was no hard copy step by step guide in the box felt these consumer videos were really useful – unless you have a complete lack of any element of common sense , you should really look at these before siting the product.
However, that said it is logical and the only thing you will need is a micro SD card (which for some reason doesn’t want to blooming well format itself) and if you are using any of the angled brackets that it comes with, there are x4 teeny weeny screws that you will need to be very careful with or you will lose them so get a child with nimble fingers to do this bit for you!
Otherwise it fitted right in using the Eziviz app already downloaded for the BC1 system and dings and rings merrily when anything passes its field of vision.
I think I may have to fiddle with the settings a bit to get it to do what I want it to .
Very happy and would happily recommend Eziviz systems mentioned and the customer service is tip top.
