I absolutely can’t complain about this game. I feel they’ve done the original so much justice with this and ‘Remake’ and I’m beyond excited to see the finale!
Easily game of the year for me.
Getting close to halfway through it now. This is a perfect blend of old final fantasy nostalgia, with great story and character development, mixed with a number of mini games.
It is far more open world than the older ones, but on the whole they have done it fairly well. The battling balances the tactical elements of old, with the action style seen in all the newer Final Fantasy games. Both remake and rebirth did this better than both Final Fantasy xv and xvi.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth builds upon the best elements of its predecessor whilst also crafting one of the best open worlds to grace video games. Exploration is almost always fun and leads to a trove of side-content.
Preordered and got it a day early. It has GOTY potential, be warned there are a lot of minigames, and the end content is very difficult for you platinum hunters. Remake was much easier than this game.
The story doesn’t make much sense or stick the landing in the last hour or so. The graphics are a bit underwhelming in the open world (particularly the character models when not in cutscenes). Other than that everything else about this game is perfect. the gameplay, character writing, voice acting, music, open world, etc all perfec
A fun and dynamic game to play, finally able to play characters which were teased in the previous title. Gameplay is fun and immersive. And you’ll fall in love with the characters all over agai
This was a present for my son and to be honest I have hardly seen him since so it suits me no end because I can get extra reading and wine time ~ update, he said its a very good game and recommends
If you played the original game and the remake and loved them I would recommend this, the card game took a bit of getting used to but everything else has been expanded on to great lengths, 100’s of hours of content to go at.
I won’t spoil anything but omg this game is amazing, if you played the original and loved it you will love this. I have played 150 hours and I’m still enjoying this game. Plus it has an easy mode for those who aren’t used to these type of games.
Theres not much more to say, its exactly what you would expect from a Final Fantasy 7 remake; a huge world filled with familiar characters, huge set pieces and, quite frankly, its stunning. Well worth buying!
An absolutely fantastic game, the graphics and music are stunning and the playability is perfect. The open world is amazing, the game constantly rewards you for exploring and is just full of surprises. Main story has been great, I’m 60% through right now and have loved every minute.
FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH for PlayStation 5 is a stellar remake that beautifully revitalizes the beloved classic. From stunning graphics to enhanced gameplay mechanics, it delivers an immersive experience that will captivate both long-time fans and newcomers alike. With its rich storytelling and unforgettable characters, this remake stays true to the essence of the original while introducing exciting new elements. If you’re a fan of the series or simply love epic RPGs, don’t miss out on this masterpiece.
I’m only 16 hours in and already this game is AMAZING!! I am having so much fun! Love the open worlds, the combat, the characters, the tons of side quests, everything is perfect! This pays honorable respect to the original FF7. Best game I’ve played in years!
It was worth the 27yrs of waiting (and I wasn’t sure if it was possible to even live up to that type of hype). I wasn’t sure if I could adapt to an ‘Open World’ game but I have and I love it. I’ve experienced no bugs so far and I love the battle system and summons. Was pleasantly surprised to recieve save data bonus summons (Leviathan and Ramuh) that have actually been incredibly useful. My only regret is not buying the Deluxe Version. S+++++++++
Update 9/4/2025
I finally have one glaring complaint to me – the over abundance of mini-games. I’ve hated every single mini-game and whilst they can mostly be ignored some NEED you to learn their niche array of utter frustration (and dreadful controls) to progress in mapping out the World data. Essentially you end up as a ‘Jack of All Trades but Master of None’ (unless you just really like to torture yourself). I hate Queens Blood, ALL of the Protorelic Quests and don’t get me started on the Golden Saucer or those bloody moogles. It’s not enough to reduce my 5-star rating as literally everything else in the game (fighting, story, mysteries etc) are brilliant but I wanted to write an honest review and I do feel the need to mention you need infinite patience to deal with the mini-games. I actually think, and I accept others may disagree, that Square Exit has got carried away and over saturated FF7:Rebirth with the mini games. It always takes me ‘out of the immersion’ of the plot and characters and (to a degree) is unwelcome, intrusive and distracting from the main story line.
