I have to take a half of a very small tablet every day. . This tool makes it simple. I’d definitely recommend it. Easy to use & set up with the silicon pads provided also good value for money
The reviews are correct that the templates only fit small drugs. That said, if I was to do a paracetamol or Co-Codamol size pill I believe I could find a template that would be acceptable and would allow me to cut it accurately. The cutting mechanism is really sharp and the design allows you to put the pill in, It doesn’t move so when you do close it down, it cuts accurately. The templates hold the pill in place well, so it doesn’t move meaning that it cuts them better. Definitely recommend
Holds pill in place to cut, which is great for very small tablets. Doesn’t cut it exactly half but near as possible. A good help if you are tasked with splitting small pills.
This is a fantastic product. You get different size templates for different pills. I had a tiny pill to cut and normal pill cutter wouldn’t cut it but this one does it with ease with the template in. Would highly recommend.
Because of arthritic hands I sent for that little gadget to help with cutting tablets into two halves. It made it so easy, I don’t know why I waited so long to get one. Little sponge shapes hold the tablets so they don’t move and you just press the lid down. As easy as that. K.J.
Good quality pill splitter, fair price and delivered quickly. The hidden blade protects your fingers and the individual silicon pill holders keep the pill being split from moving, only downside is that the pill sizes are very small, they appear larger in the photos, the pills we needed to split was too large for any of the templates and only just fits in the tool, this is a common size in the UK so the pill splitter and its templates should really be re-manufactured to accept larger pills as it is not really fit for purpose.
This is a good product, works well and is quite sturdy. The holders are really useful but it does not have a range of sizes for round tablets, it would be really good if there was 2 types for different sizes of round tablets.
Most other pill cutters ended up crushing the tablet, shattering it, or breaking it into uneven pieces.
Because this one holds the tablet in place, it gets broken evenly and doesn’t shatter…for the most part.
There have been a few times when the tablet has broken into extra pieces, but it usually been one half that broken into two bits.
For me, this is fine because I use this to cut up my dog’s medication to the correct dose and then crush it into a powder to mix into his food.
Since my hands are weaker, I have a bit of an issue opening the thing once I’ve cut the tablet as it tends to close quite securely. A few pieces of tape over the bottom catch stops it from clipping in as well.
It’s not perfect, but it works better than the others I’ve tried and I can live with the flaws.
Great idea to have different templates, and it has many options. I wanted on this occasion to cut a pill meant for humans but one that my cat’s vet dispensed as there is a stock issue with her usual brand.
The pill is oblong and already has a cut line to in the middle to cut it in half, but I need only a quarter. There isn’t any template for that, so I adapted one of the smaller templates, it sort of works. I am throwing some of the pill away because it isn’t precise enough, and some pieces are coming up too big. I have to say, though, this pill does seem extra crumbly, so I take the piece that looks the nearest to a quarter. I think the cutter is ok. It is a bit fiddly, but I’m happy with it.
