I bought two on sale – one for me and one for my wife. My laptop (Samsung) connects flawlessly – plug into one of the usb-c ports and you’re in business. Her Dell didn’t connect as easily. Probably due to being locked down from work. It would not connect until she was on the internet and connected to VPN. Then it finally connected.
It includes a couple of adapters, but having an HDMI in would be nice.
We did use them a lot on the road and the worked well. The kickstand is a bit flimsy, but with some care it isn’t a problem.
Works great for an extra monitor for my laptop. It’s a little small, but that’s ok. Also, if I don’t have anything open on this monitor, the color is off. But that doesn’t really matter. Everything I open on the monitor is crisp and clear.
Loved this monitor. It worked immediately out of the box and it was nicely packaged. I think it’s a good clarity- I use it for excel and its office work so I don’t need super HD picture so that was a plus. Thin and portable
Having this portable monitor has genuinely eased my work travel. The simplicity of its single cable setup means less clutter and more productivity, no matter where I am. Its lightweight design doesn’t weigh down my luggage yet provides a clear, expansive display that’s easy on the eyes for long stretches of work. While not without its quirks, the overall utility it brings to my mobile office setup is undeniable.
I really like this portable monitor a lot. It arrived exactly as described and feels well-made.
The monitor ran at the advertised resolution and refresh rate, while also looking very clear and sharp. The only issue I experienced was certain devices were not able to pick-up the display straight away, but after some testing it was largely down to my devices not not putting out enough voltage on some of the USB ports. (Check the manual, it lists the power requirements!).
The colours output the monitor are a tiny bit washed-out, but for a monitor of this nature it is to be expected.
Overall, if you need a decent portable monitor that is fairly easy to get going, this is a pretty good option!
I have experimented before with using tablets or e-ink devices connected as second monitors with mixed results. I am happy to report that this one worked flawlessly and was really easy to connect up to my laptop’s USB-C port.
It’s really easy to use and the picture quality is great. Really useful for me when I am working and require the use of a second monitor as it is so much more compact and portable than my full size desktop monitor. It means that not only is my computer portable but so is my second screen. Given the quality and reasonable price, I would highly recommend this portable monitor.
This is my idea of a compromise as I really didn’t want to get a laptop as they don’t really seem to be able to perform anywhere near as well as a PC but I also didn’t have the space to have a PC and wanted it to be a little bit portable as in I could move it around my house at will so I can have it one day downstairs and 1 day upstairs or even 1 day in my office so the idea came about to be able to have a portable monitor as well as a mini PC connected together which means that I could just lift them up and throw them into a bag if I needed to use them out on about or I could set them up as a fixed office when needed.
This works really well directly Connected to my mini PC, the cables are just plug and go and it works immediately as the main screen. A really bright and clear and the fact that it’s a full 14 inch screen means that I’ve got plenty of space to be able to see what I’m doing.
I really enjoy this monitor. It has a 14in display which is FHD 1920×1080. It uses an IPS panel and the colors are very vivid. The screen reminds me of an iPad with a flip cover that allows the monitor to stand on a desk. This monitor is great from adding a second screen you laptop on the go or for your desktop if you don’t have enough room on your desk for a second full sized monitor. It connects via usb c but comes with an adapter for usb c to usb a to allow the monitor to be used if you don’t have a usb c port. Overall I’m very satisfied with the monitor!
I have found this 14 inch G-Story portable monitor to be easy to use alongside my laptop. It allows me to work a little more efficiently as it provides me to have two screens on at the same time. I can mirror the same set-up that I have with my desk top when away from the office. The screen is very portable and easily fits in my laptop carrier bag. You can see that it comes with it’s own integrated stand and effective screen protector. The picture quality is clear and bright enough. It is perfect for office working. For high definition videos and gaming you will lose some details.
Overall, for the price this is a decent portable monitor. I definitely don’t have any complaints with using it.
As a digital designer, I do all of my work on my trusty MacBook Pro laptop which gives me the flexibility to work from anywhere. However, when working on a complex graphics or video editing project, the 16-inch screen doesn’t really cut it and often gets cluttered with menus and preference panels. However, this 14-inch portable monitor by G-Story, allows you to extend the screen to accommodate more panels making you more productive on the go.
It’s an extremely lightweight and portable 14-inch, 1080p HD monitor. It comes complete with a built-in PU leather screen cover with a soft inner fabric which also acts as a stand to set the monitor on. Conveniently it has an interchangeable cable module at the back meaning you can place the module at the top or on either side to make connection easy. Plus, it has a retractable USB-C cable for quick and easy connection without the clutter of cables.
It’s fully powered by the host laptop which means you don’t need an additional power supply to run the monitor and it features built-in speakers. The monitor only has 3 physical buttons, one for the power and the other to increase and decrease the screen brightness. But for some reason, the buttons are located at the base of the unit, which can be cumbersome to get to, especially when the monitor is in an upright position on the stand.
The monitor comes with a dongle that includes drivers if needed, a USB-A connector to USB-C port adaptor and an instruction booklet. Overall, the monitor has made working remotely much easier. I now don’t need to connect my laptop to my external 27-inch display but can set up my office anywhere.
Very useful device for travelling. I find it difficult on the go working off a single screen as I’m used to three screens on my desktop setup. The G-STORY screen is of good quality, it’s a decent size at 14″ and it’s got high quality 1080P display.
It’s simple and easy to setup, it was an automatically retracting cable for connecting to the laptop and it doesn’t require any independent power supply so runs off your laptop battery.
Price point is fair and reasonable, quality is good and for me it’s a great way to improve productivity when travelling.
A portable monitor is so useful and can be used in so many situations. This is now in my laptop bag whenever travelling because it means I can work with a two monitor setup no matter where go. Also as an addition I can hook it up for some bigger screen gaming when away from home. This monitor has a few great features, the case/cover with inbuilt stand is a must, but the retractable cable is a genius idea as you are not searching for a cable its always attached.
The monitor isn’t the brightest but I guess this is due to the convenience of only needing a single cable, USBC to connect to your PC.
Picture quality is pretty good and at 1080p is detailed enough for pretty much all 2nd monitor needs.
For me the only negative is there is no option of HDMI and a additional USB connection for separate power would be nice to allow for a brighter picture.
Value (109.99 with 50 voucher at time of review) I would say is average if it wasn’t for the voucher I would have said it was a tad expensive considering its lacking hdmi, but with the voucher seems pretty good value.
so it came very fast, packed nicely, already with a case, has integrated C type cable witch is hidden on the side, and is very easily portable around. nice resolution on screen. became more easy to work.
The G-STORY 14″ Portable Dual Monitor for Laptop Screen Extender is super handy. You just plug it into your laptop with a USB cable and boom, you’ve got two screens. The picture is really clear, and it’s great for getting more stuff done at once. Plus, it’s not too big, so you can take it with you wherever you go. If you need more space to work or play, this is a great choice.
Got to say I’m mighty impressed with this little monitor.
Set it up on my mini PC in the lounge.
Installed without issues, image nice and clear.
Like the inbuilt protective cover that doubles as a stand. Ability to relocate the cable to and side is great if you want to use it at a non standard orientation. Retractable cable keeps things neat and tidy
No complaints.
This portable screen already comes with a storage case which can also be angled and set up for good viewing. The connection cable is retractable within the case. The screen resolution is not the best, however it is good for the price. It is not very bright but still easy to view. The screen is lightweight and convenient for travelling.
I like this screen a lot. Simple and easy plug-in via USB (C, but works with an A-adapter) and the screen itself allows for others to be chained from it via its USB A sockets
The screen is easy to setup first time out the box. As with good USB devices it’s plug and play so it’s a case of sitting back and letting Windows do the work. And when its up and running the picture and colour quality is good given that it draws its power from the USB cable via your computer as opposed to having its own separate power supply
Cable management is handled by the screen itself, with the cable retracting back into the monitor casing. The bezel on the monitor itself is nice and thin, something I always like in a design
All in all I like this screen. It does what it needs to do while keeping itself nicely portable and self-contained, which is exactly what I’m looking for in a travel screen extende
This 14″ IPS panel monitor was very easy to set up. It simply plugged in via USB (A or C) and worked straight away with Windows.
Picture quality is good, and the bezel is thin. The base/cover works very nicely.
I’m not so keen in the cables being in a box attached to the unit, and a separate cable would have been better. Black reproduction was not as good as the very best monitors.
These minor gripes aside, though, this is a really good little monitor, and being so easy to set up is a real advantage. Multiple displays can be daisy-chained via the unit’s built-in USB (A) ports.
The current price is listed at 129.99, but there is a 20 voucher on the product page, making the price a much nicer 110 or so. I’m very happy to recommend it for that sort of money.
The G-Storey 14″ portable monitor has a permanently attached protective cover which can also double as a stand in landscape mode, it is a lot less effective in portrait mode and actually gets in the way if you want to use the monitor on an external stand.
The monitor has a plug in cable box that has a captive retractable USB-C lead which is used to connect it to your computer or laptop. This box can be plugged into the 2 USB type A sockets on the left or right side or on the top of the monitor. The cable box only uses one of the 2 USB sockets, the other socket is an output socket that is used for daisy chaining monitors together, however that would require purchasing the appropriate connection boxes.
The monitor only uses USB 2 for the video signals, so it is compatible with a lot of older computers and a USB-C to USB-A adapter is included for those people that don’t have a USB-C socket on their computer or laptop. A USB flash drive is also included which contains drivers for Android, Mac, Windows 7 and Windows 10 as well as a quick guide for connecting multiple monitors.
I had no problems getting the monitor to work with my Windows 10 laptop using the supplied adapter, I also managed to get it to work with my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra phone after installing the App and update that was on the USB flash drive, but I had to bypass the normal Android protection in order to do that. I have Avast virus protection on my phone and fortunately it didn’t flag any problems. It should work on most Android phones since it does not require video over USB-C (Alt Mode) support.
The picture quality is quite good, as are the viewing angles and colour gamut, however despite what it states on the website, the monitor does not have speakers.
I measured the power taken from my laptop when the portable monitor was set to full brightness and I was watching an HD video on it, it was around 4.6W, it is about 1W less if you have the brightness set at 50%.
There is a USB-C input socket at the back for powering the monitor from an external 5V source, this 5V then appears at every USB connection, so if you connect your phone to the monitor, it will charge it, although not very well and it may complain about a very low charging current. You also have to plug your phone in last, otherwise your phone will output power to the monitor instead of receiving power from it, at least mine did!
According to the included paper manual, you can power this from 12V as well as 5V, but on back of unit it says 5V 2A, I would stick with using a 5V only supply to be on the safe side in case there is a mistake in the manual.
There are things that I don’t like about the monitor, as mentioned above the unremovable cover makes it very difficult to use the monitor in portrait mode, the power switch, power LED and controls are on the bottom of the unit and are inaccessible when using this in landscape mode and accessibility to the USB-C power input socket is also difficult due to the cover/stand. The Android drivers should be available from the Playstore instead of as an external App and the App also needs to be fully translated into the target language.
Making the cover/stand removable by attaching it to the monitor with strong magnets and repositioning the controls would possibly fix most of the issues.
I recently purchased 14 Inch Laptop Monitor and I’m extremely impressed with its performance. The FHD 1080P resolution and IPS display provide sharp, vibrant visuals, making it perfect for both work and entertainment. The USB-C and USB-A connectivity options make it versatile and easy to use with various devices. The portability is a huge plus, allowing me to set up a dual monitor display anywhere. Overall, I highly recommend this portable monitor for anyone in need of a reliable and high-quality secondary display.

The portable monitor was delivered defected – and promptly replaced with next day shipment! A one-star potential disaster redress by excellent customer service.
Plug and play! Out of the box, it seamlessly connects to my Windows laptop, no complicated configurations needed. The lightweight design adds minimal weight as I slip it into my laptop backpack. Its clever design stows the retractable USB-C cable in a small compartment at the rear.
While the monitor doesn’t deliver a refresh rate high enough for an edge in gaming, it’s quite perfect for spreadsheets, charts, videos or browsing. Clarity and color reproduction at 1920 x 1080 are crisp for its size.
Con.
Couldn’t get it to connect to any of my devises in the Apple ecosystem. Need to delve into troubleshooting. I’m certain there is a quick fix, but I feel this should have been included as a note inside the box.
Overall, good portable monitor, excellent customer service, may need some tweaking for Apple users.
