The USB C to Micro B Cable has been a lifesaver for connecting my devices, especially my external hard drives, SSDs, and cameras. Its compact 0.5-meter length is perfect for my needs, providing just the right amount of reach without excess clutter.
The nylon braided construction ensures durability and longevity, giving me confidence that the cable can withstand daily use and travel. I appreciate the added protection against tangling and fraying, making it a reliable choice for long-term use.
Compatibility with a wide range of devices, including Toshiba Canvio, Seagate, WD Element external hard drives, SSDs, HDDs, and Galaxy S5 cameras, makes this cable incredibly versatile. I no longer have to worry about compatibility issues when transferring files or charging my devices.
The USB 3.0 technology delivers fast data transfer speeds, allowing me to quickly backup files or access data without any lag. Whether I’m transferring large files or streaming media, the cable ensures smooth and efficient performance.
Overall, the USB C to Micro B Cable has exceeded my expectations with its durability, versatility, and reliable performance. It’s a must-have accessory for anyone who relies on external storage devices or needs a dependable connection for their micro B USB-compatible devices.
As you would expect from the images this is a generic product, so there’s not much to say about it. It’s a 0.5 metre USB-C to Micro-B cable.
This cable is priced at 6.99, which is a little high given its short length. For this price I would expect at least a metre. It comes in pretty standard cheap and gaudy packaging that gives little protection to the product, just a plastic bag.
The cable itself is well made with decent moulding and smooth connectors. It is easy to insert and remove, but stays in place perfectly, which is of course important for data transfer. The cable is flexible and has a braided finish, which should extend its lifespan. The moulding extends almost an inch past the back of the connector, making it quite strong and rigid. This also may make it a bit difficult to fit into tight spaces, as it did with my setup.
In testing it fulfilled the claimed specification, giving USB-C (3.0) speed on all compatible ports.
In summary, this is a decent cable for the money, although you can get one for half this price if you shop around and don’t care about build quality.
I had high hopes for this cable after reviewing another of GERETIN’s cables. Once again they appear to have used a high quality cable, with braid-over-foil double-shielding of the conductors. Unfortunately this time they’ve not connected the shield to the connectors at either end (and they’d only need to do one end) which greatly reduces the shielding’s effectiveness.
The review photo shows the cable tested on a Treedix USB cable tester (available from Amazon), indicating that all USB3 data lines are connected, but no shield. The shield was tested separately by carefully cutting the outer insulation to expose it, and was found to not connect to anything.
A good-looking, robust cable though, ideal for external hard drive enclosures or memory card readers that use the micro-USB3 connector.
This is a really nice and high quality braided cable that solves the problem of connecting my huge backup WD 16TB drive which needs a Micro B input – to directly plug into the USBC input of my Mac or 20TB professional RAID.
For me – the sole purpose of me obtaining this cable is to be able to plug in my backup drive to my RAID, in order to copy the entire contents of the RAID to my backup.
That said – I cannot understand for the life of me why this cable is so short. It is not practical for those who need a desktop HDD with a Micro B USB input hooked up directly to their computer. Yes it’s cheap – but it’s not fit for purpose for everyday use. I am dinging it one star for that – since it is so cheap and it works, it’s still worth four stars.
However only four stars for my purpose – which is limited, infrequent use to connect my backup drive to my RAID. I cannot recommend this to someone who needs a permanent connection to their computer as it’s so short that you have no wiggle room to position your peripheral.
