Viewing my memories on the Golony frame has been an enjoyable experience. The resolution and clarity with which it displays my photos breathe life into them. The touchscreen is quite responsive and offers intuitive controls. Sharing experiences and emotions with family has been made more intimate with the emoticons feature. However, the built-in memory, while expansive, could benefit from a bit more efficiency in the transfer process.
This digital photo frame has breathed new life into my cherished moments. With its high-resolution touch screen, every memory is vividly displayed. The multifunctionality stood out, from weather updates to set auto on/off, it’s tech-savvy in a neat package. Sharing memories from anywhere using the Frameo App added a touch of modern connectivity. The built-in memory capacity ensures no memory gets left behind. A slight caveat, the touchscreen could be a tad more responsive, but that’s just nitpicking. Reliving memories has never been this interactive.
This is an excellent digital photo frame.
You will need a WiFi signal to set it up initially, however after that you can use it away from any signal by using SD or USB stick.
The 10.1 Inch 1920×1200 IPS LCD Touch Screen gives very vivid colours, I was also impressed with the view angle. See the last picture above which shows it at a very acute angle. Please note here that I only have a cheap phone to take photos so it does not give it full justice.
The second to last photo is a comparison between a tablet at the top and this frame at the bottom.
Both displaying the same picture, both cost about the same.
Although the tabet is obviously a full computer and came with battery, keyboard and case the Golony frame wins hands down in terms of picture quality and touchscreen response.
Videos also play well on this with a decent speaker and higher volume than I expected, of course you can adjust volume or even turn it off.
One thing I think they missed out on was the ‘ stand ‘, this takes the form of a short pen shaped piece of plastic that can either be put in a holder on the back or fixed in one of two holes allowing it to stand in either portrait or landscape. Just a bit of a shame that it can’t act as a pen with the touchscreen, would save a bit of time cleaning the fingerprints off the screen.
Anyway, overall very impressed and no hesitation to recommend it for 109.99 ( at the time of review ).
A nice, basic digital photo frame. The screen is a nice quality. The photo displayed on the screen are crisp and clear. It has an timer function which allows you to schedule ON/OFF times for the photo frame. Great for night time and when no one is in the house normally. Photos/videos can be put on a SD card (no microSD slot which is a shame) or a USB memory stick.
The instruction leaflet isn’t great. It mentions some features that I cannot find in the settings menu. For example, motion detection.
The remote control is a basic one and is a little unresponsive. Sometimes having to click the button multiple times before the photo frame changes. Not a huge issue for me as once I have a slideshow of photos set up, I just leave it alone.
One thing that I have found quite annoying, when on the home screen, it’s very difficult to see which mode (photo, video, music, settings etc) you have selected as the border of the icon turns a very slight shade of yellow which indicates is hard to see.
Digital Photo Frames have been out for many years and I actually came across an old one I had about 10 years ago.
But it isn’t as good as this one from Golony.
The picture quality has improved soo much and this is one of the better ones of today.
Good, Crisp pictures and the ability to play videos too. The quality is very good.
Sound is good and can be muted if required.
It is very easy to set up and there is the App of course.
It has a 16Gb built in memory, which isn’t the biggest by far of some Digital Photo Frames but it will take an SD card for additional storage.
The biggest draw back is that it requires mains power, necessary really as the frame is intended to be a continuous show.
The cable is about a metre and a half; I would have liked at least a 2 metre cable.
If it is to be hung on the wall, the cable will always be visible – although, we hung it on a window wall and the cable will trail down behind the curtain.
Otherwise, it sits well on top of a dresser or cabinet or whatever.
I also think that todays prices are a little steep for these Digital Phot Frames
But otherwise,
Recommended
The Golony WiFi Digital Photo Frame, with its 10.1-inch 1920×1200 IPS LCD touch screen, stands as a beautiful testament to cherished moments. The display quality is impressive, showcasing photos with vibrant colors and sharp detail. Its 16GB built-in memory provides ample space for an extensive photo collection. While the frame offers convenient sharing through the Frameo app, the 1.5m mains power cable restricts its placement options, limiting flexibility in positioning within a room. Despite this minor constraint, the frame’s user-friendly interface and real-time sharing capabilities make it a heartwarming addition to any space. If you have a designated spot near a power source, this frame serves as a captivating portal to your favorite memories, elegantly merging modern technology with sentimental value.
I absolutely love digital photo frames! This is my second digital frame and I think they are the bee’s knees. As I have my other one, it gave me a good comparison point and there was a 30 price difference with this one being the more expensive. The resolution is higher on this one and is HD, however, it only has 16GB internal memory with the option to add a 32 GB SD card. The other one has built-in 32 GB memory and I have no issues with picture quality, so I think my other one works out slightly better for the money.
The frame can be displayed horizontally or vertically but you do need to ensure you place it close to a plug socket and hanging it is a nice idea but again, it needs to be close to a socket and you’d have to put up with seeing the wire trailing down the wall.
You can add videos to this as well and you may want to make sure you turn the sound off otherwise every time the videos pop on, the sound starts and takes you by surprise.
The Frameo app you download is super easy to use and transferring pictures is a cinch.
So far, I am really chuffed with this frame and think it’s great but would certainly shop around if I were to be buying one for the first time.
If you are looking to buy a digital photo frame then look no further. It comes very well packaged and has plug and lead whichbis 1.5m in length. Setting it up was quick and easy. You need to download the app from which pictures and videos can be transferred and setup as reuired.
This can display your much loved pictures as well as videos with an option to play videos on mute. The picture quality is great and it’s full HD.
Make sure that an electrical socket is close to where you intend to place it (its 1.5m in length for the electrical wire). It looks better on a display shelf than on a wall. It would have been better if there was a battery installed inside this unit as a backup or even run on its own for some time. I would imagine that might increase its size and make it heavier..
It would make a perfect Christmas gift and ath the time of review its on sale for 119.99 plus a flat 30 discount which is good value for money.
I recently ordered this photo frame, and here’s my initial impressions:
The screen on this digital picture frame is fantastic. It shows photos and videos with real clarity. The Frameo app is extremely easy to set up and transfer pictures — it asks you to pick the focal point of a photo and centres it around that, making your pictures look great.
One of the cool things about this frame is that it turns off by itself overnight, saving power and not flooding your room with unnecessary light. Plus, it’s got 16GB of storage built in, so you have plenty of space for all your memories. It also has an SD card/USB port to expand storage if needed. I’ve had loads of people giving me compliments about it — it’s a real conversation starter.
It’s not just for photos; you can even play videos on it, and you can mute the audio, which is pretty handy. All in all, it’s a great way to show off your favourite memories in a modern way, I would definitely recommend it!
This is my first digital photo frame and I’m really happy with it.
I ordered the WiFi version so it’s really easy to add photos to the frame and you can even give a code to family and friends to allow them to send photos to your frame, although whether you’d want them to be able to do this is another matter.
It took a while to start up the first time but it’s really easy to set up and I had the frame running with photos on display a lot quicker than I expected. The WiFi ability makes it really easy to load new photos on the frame, but that’s really all it does. You can’t access the frame through the app, all you can see is the history of the photos you have sent and any photo manipulation (fit to frame, for example) needs to be done through the frame.
The frame is mains powered and it comes with a power cord that’s around 140cm long so you need to have a plug socket nearby to provide power. It also has an internal storage of 16GB, of which just over 10Gb is available for photos, but you can expand this with an SD card. I have 55 photos on mine and it has used 0.04GB so the internal storage is fine for my needs.
Personally, I think I would have been just as happy with the non WiFi frame which is considerably cheaper. So unless you particularly want the function for people to send photos to the frame, then I would just go with the standard frame.
This is rather great photo frame. My favorite feature is that I can send pictures to it from my phone without connecting with cable to my laptop. It have minimalistic design and fits well into my home decor. Sadly pictures only can be viewed when looking straight into the frame and not from sides. Also cable is very short so I can’t really hang it on the wall unless I want it low or I find another cable that fits. This have 40% off the price at the moment and I think with this discount it is definitely worth it.
This is going to replace a much older and smaller digital picture display that I’ve had for many years. The difference is amazing. The screen on this one is superb, displaying his-res crystal clear photos, It has 16gig of storage built in which means you’ll be able to upload 1000’s of pics. They can then be displayed horizontally or vertically. As it is mains powered it will need to be displayed near a power outlet unless you use a extension lead – just something to keep in mind. The app was easy to use and transferring pics from my phone was also simple. You can also transfer them to the frame using a USB stick though you can’t display them directly from the stick. All in all a lovely digital picture frame that will look great and display or would make a great gift to a budding photographer.
very good size digital photo frame.
comes already in a giftable carton box.
well packaged and protected.
easy to set up and use.
syncs well with wifi, photos, and videos.
the touch screen works all right.
little memory capacity is an issue in my view.
This WIFI-enabled frame displays photos, videos, time, weather and other functions.
The Golony Digital Photo Frame is a corded electric device with a responsive and intuitive 10.1-inch IPS touchscreen that allows you to easily navigate through your photos and videos. It has a 1920×1200 resolution and will display your favourite photos and videos with vibrant colours and sharp details. Plus, it comes with an auto-rotate function and is equipped with large-capacity internal and external storage.
What’s great about this digital photo frame is it works seamlessly with the Frameo Application, which allows you to wirelessly transfer photos and videos from your smartphone to the frame, making it simple to share happy moments with family and friends from anywhere in the world.
Furthermore, the frame has a modern look, from the black borders to the matte finish, which adds a touch of sophistication to any room. Its detachable back stand also allows it to be displayed stably on a tabletop or wall. However, its high price of 119.99 may be costly for some practical users.
Overall, this digital frame is a smart way to display memories at home.
Digital WiFi photo & video framed display with stand or for wall fitting, this is based on the android operating system which is so easy to set up with easy simple set up menu, you will need to download the free app for file transfer & pairing but this took no more than the time to make a cup of tea, the app is easy to use and again within seconds you will see your memory’s on the screen, my only down sides are 1 the price at 120 but this has a 40% of discount at the time of review so = 72 but I feel this is still over priced by around 20 given its a photo & video frame you can also insert a memory stick if you do not want to transfer stuff via the app to keep on a rotating picture / video basis, 2nd the picture quality from my iPhone 11 pro max to this frame was somewhat lacking and not the same as the picture taken on my mobile was displayed on the frame even in High quality mode which was disappointing that said if you want a nice digital frame with 40% off this will do you well see pictures to show how simple this is to set up
This is not the first digital frame I have had, I did have one many years ago when they more or less first came out but it was not that good, smaller and images less sharp, this one is better in so many ways, like a tablet it gives nice sharp images it connects to Wi-Fi you can use the internal storage or external like a SD card or flash drive, you can add photos straight from your phone using the APP, you can even allow friends to share photo’s if they download the APP and you give them a code, the frames settings are really easy to navigate so all that’s good.
So the negatives, first one for me when trying this out was the same as what my Sony laptop does, you need to look directly at the screen move to one side and the images become darker, I at first placed it to one side of my desk and from the angle I viewed it all my Images looked underexposed, move it to face me and the exposer’s look spot on.
Next is probably my biggest negative, this is mains powered so where ever you want to place the frame you need it to be near a socket, the cable is only 1.5m so the socket has to be close, I originally wanted to hang this on the wall in a position where it can be easy seen and viewed more direct on but the cable was just too short to reach the socket, also if you do hang this on a wall the cable will be seen, so this is better suited to being on a cabinet top than a wall.
Overall I do like this frame, the cable problem can be solved by extending the cable or maybe if ones available a longer compatible cable, I will need to look into that, but this is a great way to view photo’s even video because it also can play video files, however if you just have this going through photo’s and it picks up a video file it will play it along with sound.
This is a digital picture frame that will slideshow your pictures. For all intents and purpose think of it like a cut-down functionality tablet that you can either stand on a surface (a plastic stick is attached to the back that you can use as a stand either landscape or portrait) or wall mounted, and the screen will shift to your orientation.
Pictures can be transferred to the 16gig memory by either app from a smart phone (via wifi) or on an SD card/USB stick/micro-USB (the SD card is used as a transfer device only, the frame will not use it as storage or run the slideshow from it). The app proved easy to use. It limits the transfer to 10 pictures a time. This felt low but also potentially prevents error in mass transfer. You can give a code to friends to add them to the frame so they can send photos from their devices (when on the same wifi, of course). You can use these storage connections to back-up the device also.
The slideshow can fit to frame and will look to display the most important aspect of the photo (when transferring the app asks you this for the first photo of each transfer only) or show the full picture, which may not be fitted to the full screen. The display will show your name, the time and date and the room (rooms are added on setup and I suspect with the thought of having multiple devices in different rooms). You can use the touchscreen to change settings. One aspect I didn’t like was that you couldn’t manage photos (delete them) from the main gallery page and had to go into a specific management page.
The frame is powered through a mains transformer and so you will be limited regarding location (to socket adjacent or using an extension cord). The frame will go to sleep between 23:00 and 07:00 (this is adjustable) or you can, through the touch screen interface, put it into sleep mode. This is not stand-by and therefore you can send pictures when in this mode. Note, having put the frame to sleep it will self-wake at the set wake-up time. You can switch it off through the touch screen interface. However, a design flaw is that to switch it back on you must use the power button at the rear of the frame and that is awkward if wall mounted — especially if you don’t want it constantly on (for power conservation).
Nevertheless, this is a neat little device if you want a digital picture frame.
I have a whole raft of pictures that normally aren’t seen but through this frame they can now be displayed in a good quality screen which also plays videos too
I have been able to upload photos via my phone but also had loaded a lot of them onto an sd card so increasing the storage by a lot
So much more dynamic than normal picture frames
If you’re considering purchasing a WIFI enabled digital photo frame, which can be utilised either free standing or wall mounted, there is no better time as this product currently has a significant reduction due to the hefty applicable discount voucher.
Item arrives in branded box which is suitable for gifting, this includes the Frame, a three pin Uk wall adapter and instruction booklet.
The emphasis here is on the WIFI connectivity which makes it easy to send photos to loved ones far away, though you will need to setup the device on first boot and enter relevant details, whilst WIFI connection can be skipped you will then be limited to plug and play storage options, these are thankfully quite diverse as the item includes an SD card slot, USB Type A port and a MINI USB port so there’s no excuse to be able to import photos easily.
Caveats include the reliance on the three pin wall adapter for power and the requirement to import pictures to the device from the removable storage (as they cannot be utilised directly from storage).
The device can be utilised free standing or wall mounted, however wall mounting whilst flat is not flush as the back mount incorporates the SD card, USB Type A port and power connector etc, thus whilst remaining flat to the wall it protrudes a couple of centimetres around the sides, this also requires any plug in storage to be plugged in prior as it’s difficult to access afterwards.
None of these presents an issue and the device looks superb when wall mounted, but be aware that whilst the back of the device sits flush, there will be a visible gap around the sides due to the back panel and it’s associated ports.
Screen quality is excellent and the Frameo app is adapt at displaying the pictures in the best possible way, the touch screen is sensitive and works well, the device is also capable of displaying small video files with a caveat of 15 seconds length in .mp4 or .avi format, other features include the implementation of a time/date/weather overlay making this a superbly useful device that provides basic functions as well as photo display.
A really nice device that provides more than just a photo frame, with excellent picture quality, but one which requires close proximity to a wall socket.
upon opening the box i was quite impressed at how good it looked, and how well it was packaged up. the unit is fairly light considering its size. at this point the one things that could be better is the plastic stand, its a little too flexible when used in portrait mode compared to landscape view. we ordered the WI-FI enabled option, which has an associated app the you can use to upload images remotely to the picture frame, but also has the same usb and memory card slots (and a head phones slot, why tho?). the WI-FI option doesn’t have a remote control or control buttons, but it does have very easy to use touch screen menu system and just a single power button on the back. the display is pretty good, and theres plenty of options to show the pictures the way you want them. there is a slight issue that if a landscape picture is displayed in portrait mode it tries to fit the picture as best it can, but depending on the actual picture size it can sometimes still be a little too enlarged and doesnt quite show the main focal point of the picture, you can adjust the displayed pictures position on the screen, but you cant pinch and zoom like on a phone. i think this unit would be even better if it had a rechargeable battery option so that it could be placed anywhere.
Its larger than I expected but easy to set up even without reference to thence;osed instructions.
I downloaded the app and gave myself a code from the frame and sent over an image, which I displayed above. Nice, except it’s a large 5Gb image (yes I can and will make it smaller) and the frame has 16GB storage so jpegs smaller required.
Colours are true to the original image and large enough to be seen anywhere in the room.
I had hoped it was stand alone without having to be plugged in, as that limits where I put it. After setting up in the kitchen then moving it to the dining room I was warned not not turn off the power. However, my image was not lost.
