We have a various array of bottles, each of which appears to become leaky after a period of use.
Our youngest son had said that he needed a new bottle due to the old one starting to leak and as we have a small Ion8 bottle which has been brilliant and not leaked, we ordered this one.
It arrived and as with the other bottle we have, it feels strong and well-made with nice thick plastic. Our son loved the robot design as it was unusual and not something others in his class had.
As a 500ml bottle, it is the perfect size for the school day and can easily be opened by a child to re-fill at school.
The cap is easy to open and so far, has been completely leakproof.
The bottle does state that it is dishwasher safe, however I would be concerned that the design would fade or come off in the dishwasher so choose to wash it by hand.
So far, so good and Ion8 is becoming our bottle brand of choice as they are so sturdy.

It sounds strange I know but I love ion8 bottles. Hands down they are the best water bottles for kids.
I’ve had several over the years and they are one of the few brands that are consistently high quality. No leaks, easy to clean, good designs.
This one is no different in that respect, fully recommended.
There are two main things I hate about water bottles.
Cleaning and taste.
Either you end up with horrible rubber taste, or remnants of what was previously in the bottle that no matter how much you clean, you cannot get rid of that taste.
Or it’s such a pain to clean, I end up not using it and purchase another bottle.
This is nearly prefect.
It survived the dishwasher, yes. Even the label says it’s dishwasher safe.
But, the lid still needs a further manual rinse after, as the lid doesn’t come apart at all.
So when it’s open and in the dishwasher, no matter how you lay it down, pivot it round, etc. One side will always hold water and not drain – Something that is easily solved if the lid could come apart.
Manual cleaning, this isn’t a problem.
Taste wise, as this doesn’t contain rubber and isn’t made of metal, there really isn’t any reason that it would affect how your drink tastes. Nor should it retain for future drinks.
Also it’s not entirely leak proof. Very good, but not perfect.
Still recommend though
The Ion8 500ml Water Bottle is perfect for keeping my grandson hydrated during the school day and while out and about.
It is ideal for children’s lunchboxes with its leakproof design, it’s easy to open lid and secure lock mechanism make it effortless to access. The cute robot design put a smile on my grandson’s face
I’m really impressed with this bottle. High quality, well made. Clever lid with lock function. No leaks. Dishwasher safe (although I’ve not tested this).

Perfect little bottle for my son great design on the outside however it does seem after time the coating may start to fade.
The bottle itself is leakproof no spills so far and is very sturdy especially in the hands of an 18month old very happy overall
Ordered for my son whose bottles needed upgrading as all had lost their straws or gotten damaged/ These are made from very robust frosted plastic that almost feels like glass, very heavy and hardwearing. The patterns and colours are so vibrant and pleasing to look at. I found this semi difficult to clean due to the long design of the bottle but happily the lid was much easier than usual to clean as there was no extra tubing or straws to have to scrub.
I’m really happy with these and goo to know they’ve come from an eco friendly company.

My grandson loves this design! It’s a good size bottle which is also very lightweight without feeling flimsy. It is easy to open and shut, even for a small child, and is completely leak-proof. Recommended.
I’ve tried the Ion8 Slim Water Bottle and it’s quite handy. It truly doesn’t leak, and the spout cover is easy to use with just one finger. The slim design fits in my bag and car cup holder perfectly. It’s dishwasher safe probably the biggest plus so easy to clean, plus the material is odour-resistant.

I’m really impressed with this drinking bottle. The robot design is very firmly adhered to the bottle and doesn’t look like it would scratch off easily. The plastic used is very tough and hard feeling with no flex to it at all so it should keep its shape and be able to withstand life in a school bag. A hard plastic is also used for the short drinking spout. It is completely leak proof. The cap is raised by pressing down on the catch which then opens the lid. To lock this mechanism, there is a horseshoe shaped loop which folds down over the button. It all works well. It’s got a good wide neck so it is very simple to clean by hand or in the dishwasher.
After checking out the company’s website, I like what I read there. The current price of 10.01 seems entirely reasonable for the quality of the bottle.
