Very fun to build – hurt my thumbs a bit though – gears were fun to put in place and very smart engineering. It’s a good challenge for a 10 yr.
My daughter loved building this with her Dad. She is fascinated with out of space at the moment. This was a gift for her doing well at school. It was very much a build that needed parental input but she enjoyed it and loves the movement now it’s finished.
Quite complicated to build because of all the gears. but when finished it is a marvel. The moon rotates round the earth, and the earth rotates round the sun, there are month markers and it shows the phase of the moon. and it looks lovely.
If you want Sun-Earth-Moon model this is the best! Better than the snap out wooden models that have so much friction they barely move, and better than spending 200+ on a ready-made brass model.
The Lego model does a great job in showing the lunar cycle and the seasons, and why the moon looks the way it does from you back garden. I’d read loads of descriptions, seen lots of animations, but with this model I finally ‘got it’.
Oh, and it’s super fun to build and really well designed in all respects.
I’ve always been a sucker for Lego Technic, and despite being one of the smaller set, this one doesn’t disappoint. It’s a good, absorbing build, and very educational to boot. It’s also one of the few I’ve kept for display mainly because I’m trying to understand complex tides, so it’s good to look at the moon state and figure out what’s going on (although how accurate it actually is, I’m still not sure).
Bought this one to teach the 4-year daughter about the solar system when she showed interest. Took some time to get it fully assumbled but the mechanical thing really shows the relationship between sun, earth and moon, with which help we can easily explain what the meanings of year, month and day
A chi come me innamorato della materia (spazio e lego), questo set non pu mancare.
Un plauso a chi ha progettato tutti i movimenti che risultano essere complessi e piuttosto fedeli alla realt, il che apre anche uno scenario educativo per i pi piccoli che avranno modo di capire molto bene come funziona il sistema terra-sole-luna e anche di percepire quanto veloce sia il movimento di spin del nostro pianeta (quando ero ragazzino io questi esempi li vedevo con il pallone da calcio e la pallina da tennis). Da quello che ho letto online (non ho verificato la cosa), in questo modello quando la terra compie un giro completo intorno al sole e nel frattempo 360 giri intorno a se stessa (dovuto alle moltipliche degli ingranaggi) e una fase lunare “dura” circa 27 rotazioni (come nella realt).
Il set di difficolt medio-bassa e sicuramente un intrattenimento divertente sia per adulti che per bambini (supervisionati).
credo si possa anche motorizzare rendendo ancora pi interessante l’osservazione.
In sostanza se sei titubante ti sto offrendo la spintarella per comprarlo perch vale ogni singolo centesimo. Apprezzatissimi anche i sacchetti dei mattoncini che ora sono in carta.
Voil un excellent Lego Technic dont le rendu une fois mont est trs, trs chouette !
Au niveau de l’ge, c’est indiqu partir de 10 ans, et a me semble un petit peu optimiste, moins que ce soit un enfant qui a dj une bonne exprience des Lego Technic. Sinon, pour une premire fois… il vaut mieux tabler sur quelqu’un de plus g ou une boite moins complexe !
La qualit comme bien souvent pour la marque est excellente, et ce sont quelques heures de plaisir en perspective au cours du montage : une fois termin, tout fonctionne et on peut voir comment la Terre et la Lune tournent autour du Soleil en tournant la manivelle.
On peut trouver que c’est un peu onreux, mais vraiment, la qualit vaut ce prix l, c’est cher mais amplement justifi !
Bref, une excellente ide cadeau qui ne risque pas de dcevoir !
Lo compr para regalar a un nio de 9 aos y le gust mucho. Es para regalar si el nio ya ha hecho otros legos antes y si conoce el funcionamientos de los movimientos de La Tierra y el Sol. Si no, igual le puede parecer aburrido. Como en general con Lego, el precio elevado.
Voor jong en minder jong. Ben zelf 70+ en dit was mijn eerste LEGO doos. Ben altijd wel gefascineerd geweest door sterrenkunde en de ruimte en dit ‘speelgoed’ sprak me dan ook aan. Dank zij de app ging het bouwen erg vlot en het resultaat mag er zijn. Natuurlijk kloppen de verhoudingen van grootte en afstand niet maar dank zij het ingenieuze tandwielsysteem wel de rotatieperiodes van zon en aarde, van de aarde rond de zon en de maan rond de aarde. Je ziet hoe het komt dat er seizoenen zijn en ook de maanstanden. Aanrader voor jong en oud.
It is a great model to teach children about the day, night and seasons with the models of the Sun, earth and moon. It is even better if the Sun can illuminate.
However, the instruction for builing is not clear. Keep making mistakes of missing some parts. So spent some time to trouble shoot.
Je n’ai pas l’habitude de laisser des commentaires, mais ce Lego est tellement gnial que je vais faire une exception. Achet pour mon fils de 9 ans qui s’tait dsintress des legos depuis quelques annes dj, il a ador le construire et le faire marcher. La difficult est idale: juste assez de passages difficiles pour prsenter un vrai dfi (et quelques frustrations!), mais jamais de problmes insurmontables. L’objet final est magnifique et tonnament sophistiqu: les trois astres tournent simultanment avec une manivelle! Super pour parler des clipses, des saisons, des cycles lunaires (j’avoue que ce n’tait pas mon but: pour moi un jouet doit rester un jouet et je ne suis pas trs port sur les jouets pdagogiques en gnral, mais pour les parents qui le sont: bon entendeur!) Depuis sa construction, notre systme solaire Lego technic trne sur la table du salon et inspire le respect de tous, mme de son frre de 5 ans qui vient diligemment tourner la manivelle plusieurs fois par jour. Cela change des camions et voitures de course qui dominent la gamme des Lego technic! Ce modle deviendra culte, c’est certain.
Had a great time building this with my 10yr old. Some of the pieces are fiddly or difficult to pop into place for a 10yr old, but over all it was a great kit.
Bonus was that this linked to his current science project!
