Offers a bit more protection than other phone holders for bikes. There’s also a compartment for other small items too. Suitable for both a phone and a battery and a few other things. Touch screen works and the item attaches securely.
I needed something to put my phone in whilst on my bike and this case does the job.
The case itself is very sturdy and not only can you pop your mobile phone in it, it also has an area for credit cards, wallet or even a puncture repair kit!
Viewing of the phone screen whilst in the case is very clear and the case does not hinder operation of your phone.
I can’t comment on how waterproof the case is as I’ve not used it in the rain yet.
I recently decided to try a handlebar phone holder for my compact folding E-bike, initially concerned about its size and potential interference with my riding space. Here’s a comprehensive look at how it turned out to be a surprisingly fitting and functional accessory.
Size and Fit:
Contrary to my initial concerns about bulkiness, the phone holder fit perfectly on my bike. It was unobtrusive, staying clear of my knees while remaining within easy reach—a crucial aspect for accessibility while riding. The included packing rubber strips were essential for securing the holder to my narrower handlebar, ensuring a snug and stable attachment.
Mounting and Accessibility:
The mounting system is thoughtfully designed, featuring a cam clamp that easily tightens onto the handlebar. The case itself can be swiftly detached from the mounting bracket by pressing a catch, which is incredibly convenient for taking it with you when leaving the bike unattended.
Case Design and Usability:
The phone holder accommodates my iPhone, even in its leather case, without any issues. The front of the phone case can be folded back, and it still fits comfortably within the holder. While the see-through window is generally clear, it can attract some glare under bright conditions; however, shading it with a hand quickly resolves this minor inconvenience. The extra layer of plastic over the screen does make touch interactions a bit tougher, but basic functions like answering calls are still manageable.
Weather Protection and Extra Features:
The holder is designed to be water-resistant, which suits most riding conditions. For heavier rain, it comes equipped with a Hi-Viz stretch top that provides additional protection, ensuring the device stays dry. Inside the case, the storage options are ample, with several pouches and a zipped section that could easily hold cards, a puncture repair kit, or other small essentials. The Velcro back strap that secures the phone inside the pouch is a thoughtful touch, preventing the phone from slipping out when the case is opened.
Overall Quality and Value:
The phone holder is well-made and durable, offering great value for its price. It’s a clever solution that enhances the functionality of my folding E-bike, making it easier to use my phone for navigation or to stay connected during rides.
Conclusion:
This handlebar phone holder is a brilliant addition to any folding E-bike, especially for those who value practicality and safety. It addresses initial size concerns with its compact yet efficient design and enhances the biking experience with its smart features and robust build. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable way to integrate their digital devices into their cycling routine.
I got this to replace a similar phone holder that I’ve had on my bike for ages, but whose zip broke meaning it could no longer close.
Unlike my last phone holder, which was velcro’d on the T-piece of the handle bars, this phone holder has a quick-release clamping mechanism so it can be positioned anywhere along the handlebars.
The phone holder came with various rubber strips to ensure the quick-release clamp can fit and grip the handlebar properly.
The phone holder itself clips securely into the quick-release mechanism so it won’t fall off when riding, but is easy to remove by depressing a piece of plastic when you need to take your phone off your bike.
The touchscreen on my phone works fine through the plastic. My 6.67″ phone fits well and I can see the entire screen.
I like the fact there are lots of storage slots in the holder to keep your belongings separate. I also like that the phone is secured against the transparent plastic with a velcro strap so it doesn’t fall out when you open the zips.
Although the phone holder feels pretty water-resistant, I appreciate the fact it comes with a detachable fluorescent rain cover for when it’s really hammering it down.
Overall I think this is good value and I expect it to last some time.
Well this is a big case to protect your phone m, but it can also store other items in the various netted pouches and zipped pockets located behind the phone itself, hence the depth of the case.
It’s very well made, heavy duty feel, the quick release buckle to release the case from the bike is simple but reliable and no chance of it accidentally coming off while cycling.
On that note, I think if you did have a tumble, your phone will most likely survive without any damage as this case is very protective!
I have a galaxy s23 and it fits with ample room, this will accommodate in my opinion, phone with 6.8″ screens without any issue. My phone is 6.2″ screen for reference.
One thing I noticed and something that may or may not bother you, the phone is secured inside by well padded elasticated straps with velcro fastening, but with the bumpiness of riding on our roads, my phone gradually moves down till the bottom of the screen isn’t visible.
My solution was to fit 4x 10mm wide felt strips, the sort you get in a pack for protecting wood floors from furniture etc, and stack them in the bottom of the case to stop the phone sliding down. It works a treat!
The touchscreen of my phone works fine in the case, I don’t find the top sunvisor does anything at all to shade my phone.
The mounting bracket is flexible to fit to your handlebar and they give you rubber strips to fit any size, a quick release clamp locks it in place and is neatly folded matching the curve of the clamp when locked.
2 zips, both good and free moving, the mount is a ball type to give good amount of adjustment to get the right angle on your handlebar.
I’ve been using this for a week on my electric bike and aside from the phone doing down bit in the case(fixed now as mentioned earlier), there isn’t anything bad to say about this handlebar mounted phone holder. Space behind the phone could keep keys, small wallet etc.
Overall very decent product!
At first i thought this is going to be to big and bulky for my tiny folding E-bike but in reality it is not it fits fine and is out of the way of my knees but easily accessible. I had to use a couple of the packing rubber strips that are supplied as my handlebar is narrow but once these were inserted the cam clamp tightened it onto the bar no problem. The case can be slid on and off the mounting bracket by depressing a catch so you can easily take it with you. I like the fact that though I have my iPhone in a leather case I can fold the front to the back and it still easily fits in the phone holder. The see through window can get a bit of glare on it but you just shade it with your hand to read it. Having the extra layer of plastic does make pressing the screen a little more difficult but you can answer a call that sort of thing no problem. Using maps on the screen is great, it looks to be pretty water resistant but you do get a Hi-Viz stretch top to put over the case if it is bucketing it down. Inside there are loads of storage pouches for cars a zipped pouch and room for a puncture repair kit as well I reckon, I also like the fact that the phone is held in with a Velcro back strap so opening the pouch does not eject your phone. Its a clever idea and seems well made, dead handy.
I’ve noticed a few people complaining about this product being bulky, but the reality is that pretty much all waterproof phone covers follow the same design, so they tend to be bulky. If you want a phone holder that protects your phone from the rain, it requires more material, resulting in a sizable product.
Here are the things I like about this phone holder:
– It effectively protects my phone from rain.
– There’s extra storage inside the phone holder for items like money or documents.
– It’s easy to detach the holder from the locking clip fixed onto the handlebar; you just press the quick-release button on the bottom of the holder.
– I was able to use my phone’s touchscreen while it was inside the holder, even while wearing gloves.
– Rubber strips are included to line the mounting clip, protecting the handlebar from damage and ensuring a better grip.
– The phone holder didn’t move while I was riding my bike on rough surfaces or over exposed tree roots.
One thing I didn’t like:
– The mounting mechanism on the handlebar. I’ve used different bike phone holders in the past with much easier mounting mechanisms; this one gave me a bit of hassle. However, since it’s a one-off job with this product, I wouldn’t pay too much attention to it.
Overall, I think it’s a pretty decent product and deserves a 4.5-star rating (but since I can’t give it 4.5 stars, I’ll give it 4 stars).
This is a really classy mobile phone holder for my bike, I love it. The holder is really well made, the zip seems like it is pretty water proof, I think it would dispel all but the worst rain shower. The bag itself is huge, it would hold a lot more than your mobile. There is a compartment splitter with a zipped pocket, the bag has a shield to protect it from rain and also to shield it from the sun so you can read it more easily. The transparent front makes reading your phone easy. They have designed it really well, there is even a slot to post your headphones through if you want to listen to music whilst cycling. There are two pockets at the back. And the fitting to attach the holder to your bike feels strong and well made. They even give you a waterproof seat cover, a nice extra. This is probably the best phone holder I have had for my bike. Love it.
This is quite bulky but that is because it is more than just a phone holder. Inside there is space for a puncture repair kit, a few tools, your credit cards and some money. It also comes with a dayglow waterproof elasticated cover (a bit like a shower-cap!)
The attachment for the handlebar is large, with four rubber strips to allow you to clamp onto all but the tiniest of bars. The cam allows you to easily get a good grip without tools, and the bolt screws into a metal insert unlike some less well made versions where the bolt screws into plastic.
The phone can be held in portrait or landscape modes, but the sunshield is only really effective in portrait mode.
The works well through the plastic screen although mine tended to slide down so I could not see / touch the bottom of the screen. I’m sure I can overcome this minor niggle with some well positioned packing – in fact the spare rubber spacer strips should do the job.
The grip is good and the holder did not move even on very rough terrain.
Good item.
As a phone holder this is a really bulky and quite cumbersome case, whilst this fits the iPhone 13/14/15 well and the touch screen is responsive from within, the case is enormous, I would say that this is too much for a pedal cycle and may be more suited to being mounted on a motorcycle.
The handlebar mount is very large in diameter, again more suited to a motorcycle than a pedal cycle but being quick release is very quick and easy to attach.
The actual case does connect very securely to the mount which is reassuring and there is plenty of space inside for a wallet, keys, cash etc as well as the phone.
Overall I would say this is just too much for a cycle case, thankfully I have a motorcycle as well so I am sure this will come in useful on the wet days.
A really good idea for any cyclist.
I’m impressed with this, as it works hard to cover a lot of bases in terms of what it provides. It’s a phone holder, but it also has an extra space under the phone for other items. It even has a built-in wallet. In fact I’d say there’s room for a power bank under there, if you’re using your phone’s map for long periods, with all the cabling remaining dry and protected. For if it’s absolutely slatting it down, they do provide an extra waterproof cover (it’s like they’ve been to England before!). However, because when you have to use the extra cover you aren’t in any way able to view your phone screen, I’m afraid I’m deducting one star.
I do prefer the handlebar versions of this to the frame bar versions, which require you to really take your eyes entirely off the road to look at. If I’m going down a steep hill or a windy country lane, that’s not really an option. This is placed much higher, and so closer to my eyeline when cycling. You can also position them almost upright to avoid direct sunlight, whereas the frame versions of the phone carriers are always positioned pretty much flat-on to the sun, making viewing them on a bright day very difficult unless you’re willing to put your screen on its highest setting and buzz through your phone battery in a couple of hours.
It has a nice clear screen, and my Samsung phone touchpad worked fine through it, registering touches without a problem. I don’t have face recognition, so I couldn’t try that.
The bracket that holds it feels robust and solid, with a set of pads that you can wrap around your handlebar to protect it. This also gives a bit of cushioning between the bike and your phone. It’s pretty adjustable, as you tighten the screw to reasonably close, then use the over-latch to do that last tightening lock. The bar coming from the mount then rotates 360 so you can have your phone portrait or landscape, as desired.
The one thing they seem to have missed, is that the very useful sun-shade which sits to the top of the phone in portrait mode, should have carried down one entire side, so that you a sun-shade for landscape mode as well, but it finishes halfway. A small thing, but it would have been useful.
But I do think it was a great idea that you don’t have to keep on attaching and detaching the whole thing, as the bag part can come off on its own, leafing the handlebar clip in place.
So all in all this seems a pretty damn good option for a handlebar phone holder, to me. It covers all bases, provides useful extra space, and has a great detach feature. Very pleased with it.
