Picture is sharp, HDR is great and gives vibrant colours. Ergonomic stand adjusts/pivots in all directions. Lots of input ports in the back for multiple devices.
Only slight detractor is screen brightness – with bright sunlight coming through a window the screen can be a little hard to see, but this is a minor point.
I bought this specific model because of the way it connects to my desk which is awesome.
The only issue I encountered was using the joystick which is rather fiddly. I could never successfully go to Settings which I thought was necessary but it proved not to be as it is working beautifully now.
The support webpage at LG is crazy because instead of inputting your model of monitor you have to search for it. My model is an Ergo but it was not listed there but somewhere else which took some time to locate.
I recommend this monitor.
I would say that the monitor is in dire need for calibration, while the picture out of the box is nice to look at, if you’re looking for accuracy then it really needs calibrating. The reds and magentas were absolutely blown out of proportion and none of the various profiles it comes with did a good enough job at addressing that. I tried to calibrate it manually but it didn’t really work that well for me. I ended up having to buy a monitor calibrating tool, which wasn’t ideal, but the results are much better now that it’s calibrated. I’d say for anything to do with graphic design, illustration, UI work, video editing etc. this monitor will need calibrated and will not give professional results straight out of the box, so keep that in mind.
Other than that, I’m very happy with my monitor so far, and am keen to keep on using in for various things and test it out further. Will try some gaming soon.
Minor niggle: the little toggle to change settings is rather clumsy and the interface is not very intuitive. Bit of a letdown in what is otherwise the almost perfect WFhome office screen.
Overall 9.5/10
Pretty expensive monitor, but well worth it. Very high quality easy to use stand must account for 20% or more of the total price, so monitor not really that expensive. Excellent picture and good adjustment options. Used for non-professional photo and video editing and it’s perfect.
