I bought this not really expecting it to be up to the job i wanted to do.
How wrong, it cut through 6″ branches without any problems, taking just a few seconds .
The branches were still green as they had been removed from the tree a few days earlier.
I was impressed how quickly it cut through the wood, it would have taken a lot longer to cut by hand.
It stopped a couple of times but I swapped the batteries over and started again.
The chain appears to still be sharp.
Overall I am really pleased with the chainsaw and everything else that came in the box, all for a reasonable price
The product is a fantastic little saw for the price. Easy to use and highly effective. Batteries last long enough to get the job done. The customer service is superb! A little note came with the item and with a “thank you for your purchase please accept an additional gift”. I mean talk about the gift that keeps on giving. I will definitely use this company and it’s products again.
Opened and used for the first time today.
On opening I found that the oil bottle was empty and the spare chain was not in its bag.
Charging the batteries was not easy because the cable is extremely short.
On using for the first time I ensured the chain was at the correct tension and oiled. Cut into the first thin branch and realised the trigger was faulty, didn’t work when fully pulled in, had to release it by about 3mm then the trigger lock didn’t work when I looked at the problem with the trigger, luckily I had removed the battery.
Total waste of money and time, how this gets recommended on all the sites I don’t know.
MY ADVICE, DO NOT BUY.
The people from Peektook sent me a new mini chainsaw after my initial review and this one is a completely different machine, not in looks or type, it just works as it should.
No problems whatsoever with how it performs. If you get one that is as good as this then you can’t go wrong.
I would recommend this item but make sure you get one that works as it should.
First things first, buy some proper chainsaw gloves, the ones provided are useless. I took a couple of big branches off an apple tree and then cut the thicker wood into firewood. The small twigs I put in the garden waste. This mini chainsaw made light work of it, I’m really impressed. Be careful when cutting small twigs as the chainsaw can jump up because it’s so light, thus needing some proper gloves. After a few minutes continuous use it does stop working, but this is just because it’s overheating, so leave it a couple of minutes to cool down. Make sure you have both batteries fully charged otherwise it might run out mid-job. It’s a great addition to the garden, I should have got one years ago.
My partner bought this as a birthday present for me. I was initially sceptical as it was small and lightweight. I didn’t think it would be up to the task I had in mind which was cutting back an established hedge. Well it was easy to use straight out of the box and easily went through branches up to 5 inches thick. I then used it to tackle an established climbing shrubs to get to the roots, no problem. A great tool. Lightweight and easy to use.
I was looking for a small hand held cordless chainsaw for my wife so she can make a dead hedge in the garden, I purchased the PEEKTOOK as it was a great price and great reviews.
The chainsaw arrived and it was the perfect size, lightweight and with 2 batteries and spare chain along with all the accessories.
It cuts through Branches up to 3 inch diameter with ease and no need to apply any pressure, perfect for any small garden jobs and the batteries hold their charge for ages and charging takes about an hour.
I have emailed the aftersales service regarding activating the warranty and they responded straight away.
My wife loves it !!!
This a a great little handheld chainsaw and would have no problem in recommending to anyone.
I needed a small chain saw to reduce the height of my beech hedge as shown in the pictures. This saw proved to be invaluable and made the job a lot quicker than using a hand saw. The battery life was adequate for the job with the spare as backup. As long as you don’t exert too much pressure on the saw it quickly cuts through the branches three or four inches thick. It is light to handle and saves a great deal of time compared to manual sawing. A most useful tool and highly recommended to lighten any pruning jobs.
Perhaps I did not have high hopes for this considering the price but took a chance anyway as I had a large fur tree to prune. It arrives in a cardboard box rather than a plastic case but comes with two batteries, a spare chain, lightweight gloves and protective glasses, a small empty oil bottle and a screwdriver to adjust the chain. Both batteries needed charging for a couple of hours. The chainsaw performed well on a test and cut straight through a 3inch log. You will need to use the eye protection as chips do fly. The chain stretches but is easy to adjust after a few cuts. So far I’ve cut many branches and still have plenty of charge left on the first battery. The saw is light enough to be used one-handed when standing on a ladder but be sure to engage the safety lock unless actually cutting as its easy to press the trigger.
I needed to reduce the height of a mature crab apple tree. The Peektook mini chainsaw had good reviews and was reasonably priced, so I bought it. It’s compact, light and easy to operate with one hand, properties ideal for working on top of a tall ladder. It also has a safety button above the trigger, preventing it from operating in transit. Small it may be, but it had no problem slicing through the branches and trunk of the tree, which was 4 to5 inches thick, and composed of quite hard wood. It comes with a spare chain and two rechargeable batteries, though one battery was more than enough to complete the pruning with ample charge to spare, It’s definitely a very useful tool for many difficult pruning jobs around the garden.
Did Jon fine saved a lot of money on tree surgeon you have keep checking chain is tight but it’s easy comes with all tools needed. Better to buy proper chainsaw gloves to be safe as ones come with it are not safety gloves.
