I got this monitor for 59 and it’s probably the best 59 I’ve spent this year. Pleasantly surprised by the screen size and resolution. It’s made working from my new home desk really comfortable and fun. I love the design and it was very easy to install and connect to my work laptop. Sound quality is also great. 10/10
After a mishap with a monitor desk mount my secondary monitor decided to take a belly flop onto the desk that had a few nuts and bolts on. After turning on the monitor I found out that the monitor was too damaged to display anything.
Searching Amazon for a cheap monitor for a secondary display I saw this MSI PRO MP251 24.5 Inch Full HD. Ticked all the boxes for a secondary display. 24.5 inch, IPS, 100hz and cheap!
This monitor has so many good features for how much it costs, I use it as a second monitor and the fact that its 100Hz refresh rate makes browsing look so much smoother and you could potentially use it for gaming as well as it has 1ms mprt response time, the colors are good but the only thing is that I wish it had DP instead of VGA but it shouldnt be a problem for anyone to be hones
Loving this monitor. Lovely curve, resolution. A whole new ball game for me replacing my laptop screen and a second monitor. 34″ is bigger than both as the screen is wide not high so 34″ is bigger width wise rather than like a TV.
See all other positive reviews – 250nits but seems bright to me – certainly loving it for work, etc.
I work from home with a screen above, not to the side – so – the E2 (latest) version of this is perfect, as it has a tripod screw hole = solution when away from home is take the lightweight tripod, easily affix monitor which is light anyway, and have the exact same setup, albeit a smaller screen size, but perfect for on the go.
Also, means posture is great as working at eye level, with support docs on lower laptop screen.
The E2 version has hooked/ L shape usbc and mini hdmi cables so cable management is easier and less likely to cause port damage over sustained use.
Huge fan.
Note: overnight delivery was outstandingly quick – arrived hours before due date, re: 12hours from clicking buy – genuinely impressed.
wanted a 4k screen for my new pc and so far this suits me,am not a gamer so cant comment on that.I do some video/photo editing and watch some 4k content and this monitor is great for that with nice clean crisp picture.
Amazing value for money Couldn’t imagine not having atleast 1 extra but I have 2 of these now. I use 1 through the USBC port and it looks amazing! It gets power and display all from the single USBC displaynport. I use the other on the HDMI port and that needs power from a USB port aswell. It looks terrible compared to the USBC! All white washed and not good on an angle. I swap the monitors it’s not that. I have a 4070 GPU.Its not that. I use all the exact same settings etc. I conclude. USBC display port is far superior to HDMI! It looks like a complete different display!
The images displayed are crystal clear and ideal for general office use. The problem I had was trying to get the monitor to switch between HDMI and Displayport (which it does not do automatically). Having worked out that you need tonpress the mode button then select and enter to switch between inputs, I found this tiresome especially as the controls are on the back of the monitor where smaller buttons along the bottom edge would have been better. If it was not for this poor ergonomic design I would have given 5 stars
My Dell 2405FPW finally died after 18 years and I was looking for a replacement but didn’t want to spend a lot of money, as I don’t care for 8K gaming, curved screens or any other gimmicks.
This popped up so I searched around various sites for reviews which were surprisingly positive, the only negatives being a general lack of features, fair build quality and 6-bit + FRC as opposed to true 8-bit colour.
As my desktop use is primarily browsing/reading and watching videos I decided to give it a go.
Ordered Friday, delivered Monday (included in the 69 total) I opened the box, slid out the polystyrene inserts and set it up. This is very simple and requires no tools: plug the stand into the base, press into the back of the screen, clip in the cable tidy, plug in the separate power brick, insert either an HDMI or DisplayPort cable, press the rear power button and you’re all set.
The screen tilts but doesn’t adjust for height (didn’t bother me) and all display controls are situated on the right at the rear, including the power light. I only accessed these once when setting it up so can’t complain about the location, plus it gives a minimalist & tidy appearance.
It also lacks the USB ports and card reader of my Dell, but I found a USB hub & card reader in my spares bin, so problem solved. There is a slot at the front of the stand which is ideal for standing your phone in (sideways) which is a nice touch. No speakers, but they would no doubt be puny if included and I always use external speakers so this isn’t an issue.
I always turn the brightness, contrast and colour settings down to give a more natural appearance to images and was pleased to see it was capable of a 100Hz refresh rate (tested successfully), compared with the 75Hz of my old Dell.
Subjectively, text appears slightly sharper than the Dell, blacks are black rather than dark grey (a strength of VA LCD panels), and video playback is smooth without tearing or artefacts. I occasionally play old DOS games and had no complaints with fast movement or response times.
Before using it I ran a dead-pixel checker which displays/cycles primary colours to help locate any dead or stuck pixels, an unfortunate drawback of LCD technology. Manufacturers generally state that a couple of these outside of the main viewing area are deemed acceptable and not considered a fault.
My Dell had one stuck (blue) pixel at the very top of the screen which was not an issue during use but slightly irritating all the same, so I was pleasantly surprised at the complete absence of any faulty pixels on the MSI.
Time will tell with regards longevity but so far so good. I will update this review in a few months.
For the money I paid (69) it’s hard to not recommend. It’s important to understand what you’re buying and what for, in my case for some 3D printing and some gaming.
For casual stuff like CAD, web browsing and watching videos it really shines but for gaming however because it’s a VA panel the response times are not the best which leads to smearing of the image (especially dark areas).
Don’t be fooled by the 1MPRT as this is essentially an overdrive setting to achieve 1ms, this again leads to an overly sharp image and smearing. Do for twitchy shooters like Valorant or CS2 I can’t recommend but for slower games it’s something you can perhaps look past.
The colours are nice out of the box, I don’t t have anything to test it so I can’t comment on colour accuracy but for the average consumer it’s nice if maybe a little oversaturated.
I think finally the price, for the money this thing costs I can almost overlook it’s problems, who thought even 5 years ago you could get a 100hz 1080p monitor for less than 70 so based on that I would recommend for the average person but I can’t recommend it for someone who is looking for a gaming monitor.
Nice litle monitor for a great price.Good image quality and the built in speakers come in handy too although they’re obviously not up to loud volume levels or serious music playback
I love that this monitor is height adjustable as well as tilt. I also love that it’s got the option of USB connection and that it’s white. The quality is fantastic. The base is heavy and very easily attached. It can also be also be wall mounted. It may not be a well known brand (to me at least) but I’m so glad I bought it, it’s really excellent value.
Bought this as a replacement for an end of life 1440p Samsung 27″ monitor in my office.
I went for the 4K as the price was excellent (sub 300) and it has USB-C connectivity which my new work laptop also has. The combination is excellent.
I work on process and data for hours every day and this monitor is facilitating this perfectly, no straining on my eyes and the clarity is brilliant.
It also looks very nice, it’s clean lines and simple stand design make it professional, unfussy and elegant.
I certainly can’t have any complaints and would recommend this for professional/office use. I can’t comment on usage for gaming as this is not it’s use case but I can’t see how it would not be a good monitor in that instance.
My work-from-home space sits on the dining room table in the middle of a busy family home. Hated having a black monitor which always looked big and ugly. Went for this white monitor and I really like it. It’s slimline, height adjustable. I need to put mine on a small stand. It’s nice that at the end of the day I can push it down and sort of stash my laptop underneath it (the gas lever mechanism to adjust feels very nice to use). It looks much nicer now.
I use it for all the run of the mill stuff – Teams, excel, Outlook, documents, research. The settings and picture quality are great for my needs. I don’t use it for gaming or animation or anything that needs a finer pixilation situation so I can’t comment on that.
The speakers are very poor quality and I don’t bother with them. I don’t know why anyone would expect 5 star speakers in a monitor at this price point anyway. So that’s not a negative for me.
What I don’t like is that the charger is absolutely enormous and a weird length. So depending on where your plug point is and your set up is, it can hang weirdly and heavily between the monitor and the floor. The cable that encases all the wires has a come a bit apart too. I contacted Amazon to get a replacement but they couldnt get hold of the supplier and also asked me to specify the exact charger so they could try and replace it but I didn’t feel able to do that. Couldn’t deal with the faff and decided to live with it, it’s all functioning fine.
All in all, I would recommend this monitor – it functions well and looks stylish.
I bought this as a replacement for my laptop’s faulty screen. It seemed to work ok at first but I noticed that my laptop was slowing down and even grinding to a halt most of the time. After Googling the problem, apparently it is because the MSI screen uses a large amount of the PC’s resources. I resolved this by swapping it with my desktop PC screen, and the MSI screen now works fine on my desktop albeit a bit small.
The MSI screen itself is nice and handy size and well made with a nice sleeve to keep it in when carrying about, but I can only give it three stars as it is no good for the purpose I intended.
UPDATE – I discovered that if I set the display to include both the laptop and MSI screens, it works fine so I added another star.

what is sayd on the box i use this moniter as a sccond screen it is not a good as my 1st so i can tell the difference in quality but still ok
Picture quality is awesome very fast response time on screen too. All in all if your looking for a budget moniter this is it
I love it, second will be ordered very soo
