Neewer Super Clamp with 3″ Dual Ballhead Magic Arm, Ball Head Adapter, Cold Shoe, Holder, Action Camera Clamp Mount for Flat/Round Surface Compatible with GoPro DJI, 15 Pro Max, ST85
For the price, this mount is above and beyond. Easy to install on my Can Am Ryker and the adjustability is top notch. Very sturdy holding my Insta360 x3 with great performance. The build quality is that of something that would cost way more so you’re getting excellent value for your money. I highly recommend
This mount has all the attachment points you’d want for 1/4 inch and GoPro. The phone holder alone has portrait and landscape plus a cold shoe. Like anything else, it attaches best just above minimum and just below max. As a blanket statement, I’ve not been disappointed with any Neewer product I’ve purchased and I hope they keep their quality up. I would recommend this mount for any but the most extreme conditions.
This clamp is great and really flexible. I like the many attachments which allows for many uses. It can hold lights, a GoPro, a DSLR. I don’t think the entire unit is made out of metal, it seems to be some sort of composite material – although it is super sturdy. I also wish it had some sort of quick release feature but that’s not a big deal. It has lots of features and is a great item to keep in your camera bag.
Pretty pleased with the clamp so far after using it a lot for content!
It’s very sturdy the twist mechanisms are quite strong and the clamp can open and close to a very useful amount. I’ve used it on tables, bars, remote controls, lights, you name it! and it works well.
Sometimes you have to make sure you are tightening both ends adequately because depending on the weight of the item it could cause the clamp or head to move but this only happens if you are not tightening enough.
Overall solid product, fairly pleased with i
Took a chance and bought this to hold my Halo+ projector in place (1.6kg)
This clamp is solid and I mean solid and holds it rock steady with ease.
Excellent build quality and much better than expected.
This small super clamp with included magic arm is actually very well made for the price! Clamps very securely to whatever you need, and is strong enough for a small mirrorless camera, action cam, or a mini LED light.
It’s the type of thing you want to just have a bunch of in your kit, as they always come in handy!
I love Neewer equipment, particularly their lights and rig gear, and this bit of kit is their usual quality. I needed to mount a monitor off a pole and this was perfect for the job. Good sturdy metal parts that are well made, the clamp gives a good solid grip to keep a 7″ monitor in place. Pretty damn versatile, it’ll be really useful for me on location for a while yet.
This clamp is brilliant.
The clamping capability of this unit is amazing, it’s strong but not damaging to the clamping surface.
it has 2 heads so you can attach a camera and phone (comes with a phone holder in the box too).
I am currently using it for my Osmo Pocket and a phone to act as a monitor.
Well done Neewer, a great little clamp, 5*
A very nice, sturdy, well made and highly adjustable ‘camera’ clamp. Will clamp to round as well as square surfaces and will hold a DSLR camera without giving you that ‘fear of it falling off’ feeling.
All adjustable joints can be very firmly fixed without applying to much force and loosen off just as easily.
2 standard 1/4 ” fixings for cameras or accessories.
Overpriced… Maybe, but you can tell this is quality equipment.
Recommended.
Comes in a simple cardboard box with a user manual.
A nice and solid metal clamp with a plastic spring loaded phone holder and action cam adapter.
very handy for all sorts of photography uses and mounting needs.
I have been looking for a sturdy clamp for my photography for a while, having already explored options such as a mini tripod. The tripod was okay, but had it’s limitations, so I really wanted something a little more versatile.
I have had products from Neewer before, so I am already familiar with the brand quality. This clamp is no exception. It arrives well protected in a brown box. The clamp itself is held in place in moulded foam. You will receive the camp, a mobile phone attachment and a motion camera attachment as well as an instruction leaflet.
The beauty of this clamp is that it can be attached to either a flat surface such as a desk or table, or it can be attached to a round surface such as a pole or handlebars. It has a dual mount, so two devices can be mounted at the same (i.e. camera and RGB lighting). There is a ” screw mount and a cold shoe mount.
I tested it out by trying the screw mount with my DSLR camera. It fitted in place easily, and I felt confident enough with the fixing. The ball head provided great manoeuvrability. I then tried my Motorola phone in the phone camp, and again it fitted perfectly, and could be positioned either in portrait or landscape mode. I cannot comment on the action cam mount as I do not have an action cam.
As we’re in the middle of December, and it’s freezing cold, I tested the clamp out in the comfort of my warm kitchen. It fitted to the worktop and felt firm and stable. I tried it out on a length of curtain pole, and again it felt very secure.
I am very happy to recommend this clamp for being well made, strong, versatile and priced very competitively. It will be a very useful addition to my photography kit, and I am happy to recommend it.
There are lots of cheaper clamps of this sort out there, but this one does feel better quality; sturdier, than many non-branded ones. I think I would trust my mirrorless camera to this, at a pinch. It probably is more intended for actioncam/phone use. But it is strongly made and the clamp can be tightened to a good degree.
Sometimes when you get a product you feel the quality of it, and you just want to use it, makes the job in hand a pleasure – this is one such product. From the moment I opened the box to when I clamped it to my desk and mounted my camera I just felt that the price was justified.
It is built of machined aluminium components, assume the threaded parts are steel and where things are clamped there is a nice rubber protective pad. It just feels so good to use, the three clamping adjusters and locks require very little force to lock them in to place, a mark of the tight tolerances and design behind this.
The Phone holder opens to a maximum width of 83mm, this was just enough to mount my Galaxy S22 Ultra, including its protective case.
The main jaws which pivot around the metalwork of the clamp can open through a range of 0 to 52mm. There are also rubber pads placed on the metal work which enable secure clamping on to circular or rectangular poles varying from 11mm to around 60mm in size. When everything is secured nothing rattles, the whole assembly is rock solid and gives you confidence that your expensive equipment will be held securely.
The main assembly weighs in at 283g and this clamp allows you to mount two devices plus a shoe attachment on the actual clamp and also on the phone holder. This is a versatile clamp that will last me for many years to come.
Neewer markets clever products for photographers and videographers. This clamp is a fine example of their innovation.
Rather than just produce a clamp, they added a short Magic Arm that greatly increases the versatility of the basic clamp.
The basic clamp is a very sturdy device, CNC machined from an alloy. It’s maximum opening is 2.3 inches and it has silicone pads on the ends to prevent scratching. It can be used on round objects and on table tops, desk tops and boards or similar objects.
It has a ball head with a -20 tripod screw that can be rotated 360 degrees on the horizontal and 180 degrees total on the vertical. The ball head can be tightened very securely with a wing handle. There are a total of five -20 tripod sockets on the clamp, so you can hang lights, mics, Magic Arms and what have you on the basic clamp.
One of the -20 tripod sockets is pre-populated with a 3 inch Magic Arm that terminates in a ball head with a -20 tripod screw.
So, right out of the box, you have two -20 mounting points and a cold shoe mount on the clamp.
Also included in the box is a GoPro style mount and a basic cell phone mount.
This is truly an extremely versatile, well-made clamp and, in my opinion, worth the price.

This is my new favorite “compact superclamp.” I say compact, because there are a lot of these smaller ones on the market now, much smaller than the big honking Manfrotto superclamps you might be thinking of. I consider these things to be problem solvers you throw into a bag.
This one is exceptional for a couple of reasons. First, it’s significantly more useful than the ones that are slightly smaller. With a 3″ max capacity, it **easily** grips a 1-1/2 inch pipe. Many clamps that claim to work on that size pipe just flat-out don’t. The clamp also has little swively feet for clamping onto tabletops, etc. Swing them into position for that; out of the way for pipes. Hallelujah!! Second, it’s just a handy piece of kit, with a mini-ballhead and a mini-magic arm that can be used simultaneously. Options are good.
The magic arm works well for mounting all kinds of smaller LED light sources, wand lights, and the like. It’s got enough bite to hold them still. The ball joint could hold a DSLR with a conservative sized lens. I wouldn’t say that’s the primary use, more a practical limit.
It also comes with a couple of plastic accessories. There’s a phone clamp that will mount either in the back center, or to the bottom side of the clamp. The top is a cold shoe. If you have other Neewer stuff, you know the one. It will hold a big phone competently, even with a case if it’s a thin one. I would not advise putting anything heavy and valuable on the cold shoe. A little LED light or a lightweight mic, maybe.
The other accessory is a GoPro clamp. Second verse, just like the first. Don’t get carried away with something ginormous. Anything designed to mount on this clamp will likely be appropriate weight.
Great product. Five stars.
I have a few different clamps, I always take at least one out with me if I’m out on a shoot. For strobes they can be amazing, but I find them essential for small LED panel lights. If filming an interview in a home, there’s often a shelf or even a door I can use to clamp a light onto without the need for a lightstand which can get in the way if it’s an enclosed space.
I still tend to have a light stand for my key light, but for a fill light, being able to place it pretty much anywhere is a bonus. This can also be used to attach additional items to my light stand or tripod, my mic is usually mounted on my camera but if for some reason I using a longer lense I can instead attach my mic to the light stand and have it closer to the talent. This clamp is ideal for that, the magic arm is amazing and can be manipulated into any position very easily.
This comes with a phone clamp and an action camera mount, to be honest I’ve not used either, I’ve simply used the screw mount for my LED lights. The fact that this has additional mounts on the clamp itself (ARRI locating points, cold shoe mount on and various threads) gives this extra versatility as you can mount directly to the clamp also once it’s secured.
The clamp attaches and is tightened easily, and once attached it is very secure. It’s an essential piece of kit which may not get used all the time, but *will* be important and some point and can be used for so many things, it’s a piece of equipment which adds a lot of functionality to existing kit. It’s well engineered and I have no doubt that this will last for many years.
It’s OK, the ball pin on the back in screwed, bonded and grub-screwed in place. Whatever I tried I couldn’t get the pin out, which is a shame as it uses up one of the few 1/4 holes for accessory mounting.
While the clamp and magic arm have the build quality you’d hope for, the real advantage lies in the flexibility it provides. With ball heads that allow for 360-degree movement, I found it incredibly useful when needing to film at odd angles or mounting various devices. The mounting options are versatile but expect a slight learning curve to understand the most stable configurations. Also, remember, you have a weight limit to respect; it holds well but doesn’t expect it to handle a full DSLR setup without some wobble.
This camera mounting clamp arrived in a sturdy, branded cardboard box with moulded foam inserts to protect it in transit. As well as the clamp the box contains an action camera (GoPro, DJI Osmo) mount, a sprung phone mount and instructions.
I have several devices from Neewer and I’m always impressed with the quality they produce for a reasonable price. This clamp is no exception.
With the swing down flat plates the jaws open to around 5.5cm. With the flat plates folded back they open to about 6.5cm. The flats and the curved areas inside the jaws are lined with rubber for better grip and to prevent scratching. There’s a cold shoe mount and several apertures to receive “/20 screws both on the clamp itself and the arm, so additional devices can be attached. The ball heads are grooved to improve grip when locked.
I got this to use my action camera on my classic motorbike. I previously tried a cheaper, almost identical looking clamp (https://amzn.eu/d/3cP5ntY) and although the clamp looked and felt solid in use there were problems. My old bike vibrates a lot and even with everything fully tightened I still had movement. There are no such problems with this clamp and when fully tightened everything is rock solid.
This is a really useful and versatile clamp and the fold out flat grips really help if you want to clamp it onto a flat surface. After my previous experience with the other clamp it’s really good to have something that I feel I can trust with my expensive camera equipment so I’m giving this 5 stars.
The Neewer Superclamo is a compact (205gram) clamp built for small devices like phones, action cameras or small compact cameras. The clamp comes with a spring-loaded phone holder and an action camera mount.
The clamp has some new features for 2023; the inner jaws are rubber coated so they won’t scratch. They will grip onto devices up to 6cm. There are then two rotating feet that allow you to attach it to flat surfaces. The clamps screw is nice and smooth; and its captive so you can’t open the jaws to ar.
The clamp has a 20 thread on it along with a cold shoe you could use to mount a light or microphone. The main camera mount attachment is via a rigid two ball arm. This has a single screw to tighten both ends down; you can rotate each side through 360 around and 180 degrees vertically. The arm is about 5cm long and has two more 20 mount holes. The end of the arm has a 20 thread pin on it; so, you can screw directly into a device so equipped or mount another mounting device to the end.
It’s very flexible; the rubber grips worked well on wood; tripod and light mounts as well is directly onto glass — albeit it very carefully. On my tripod leg the grip was good, and it was able to hold onto an RX100 compact camera with a microphone plugged into the port. The maximum rating is 3kg; which would take a mirrorless camera; I still need to build up some trust before giving that a go. For me it’s a convenient way of rigidly mounting an action camera to something in order to take a video or timelapses.
This clamp system comes with a solid and well made clamp with pivoted grips so you can easily attach it to almost anything, the ball head and a 1/4″ threaded end to attach the included phone mount or action camera mount. I use these all the time for holding action cameras, small lights or microphones while on a shoot in the studio or on location. Very well made and seems like it will last and its versitility means I can use it for a wide variety of purposes. Great for any photographer or videographer.
This is a good-quality clamp and mostly metal with adjustable and rubber-coated feet so it doesn’t damage whatever you clamp it to, I use these the most to mount my action cameras to trees for walk-by shots and also posts, it’s super strong and once all tightened up will not budge, as well as the 1/4 thread mount it also comes with an action camera mount and also a phone mount, overall, very impressed with the Neewer super clamp.
Review of NEEWER Super Clamp
This Neewer clamp comes in a basic cardboard box. The box contains the clamp with magic arm, phone bracket and action camera adapter.
Build. The clamp itself is well made, most of the clamp is made from aluminium alloy. The two clamp jaws articulate and are lined with a nonslip design silicone rubber pad. The clamp and arm weighs 208 grams which is on the heavy side for a magic arm. The magic arm has two fully rotatable ball heads so can be positioned in any direction. The ” screw thread can be used to attach items like LED lights, microphone etc. A unique point it that this NEEWER kit also comes with a mobile phone clamp and action camera clamp that attach to the ” screw thread. In addition, the clamp has a range of mounting options including a cold shoe for a flash, ” threads and ARRI locating points
In terms of openness, I was sent this super clamp under the Amazon Vine programme for an impartial review.
