For boiled eggs whether soft, hard or medium this machine is great no need to watch it
, put the measured quantity of water in, turn on and It buzzes when the eggs are cone.
Arrived on time.
Instructions leave a lot to be desired, could be translation of a translation and lost something with each translation.
Looking through YouTube there are some good videos.
Did a search for instructions for similar units and found some good ones.
Bit of trial and error but results are good once the water level is found.
A few months on and the measurement marks are starting to wear out so will have to resort to using a small graduated measure to find the right levels agai
Fool proof eggs each time. The measuring cup is clearly labelled and has an egg piercer in the base (which comes with a cover).
I have always struggled to get medium boiled eggs and have always left poaching to fancy cafes and restaurants. This item has changed that.
I brush butter on the egg poacher to avoid sticking and the eggs slip out happy and perfect. Stick to the measurements and you’ll be fine. If you need to tweak it, you can by adjusting the amount of water by the drip. Always use a bowl of.cold water to drop your boiled eggs into.. it stopped the cooking process and makes them easier to peel.
I did a lot of research and this one seemed like the best all rounder.
Oh… it is true that the buzzer will cause you to jump out of your skin!
I haven’t tried the omelette function yet but I will do.
This product is small which I like and it cooks boiled eggs omelette and poched.it cooks well but depends on how cooked you like your eggs but worth the money small and compact.
Read through the instructions and this was fairly simple to understand. Worked very well after using the first time.
Very convenient as it can just be left and then made a noise which I assumed meant they were done and not that it needed more water because the eggs were just righ
This is great little egg boiler I just love it ,it has become our daily routine ,so easy to use and clean ,I would definitely recommend to buy this product.
Actually really happy with this. My kids love eggs in the morning but with a busy morning I always over boil or one wants runny and one hard boiled. This is such a convenient way to cook them perfect without watching over a pot. So easy to use and can make enough for everyone. Easy to clean out and small enough to store away.
Love this little gadget – I now have the perfect dippy egg and soldiers for my breakfast. It’s really easy to use and clean and doesn’t take up too much space in the kitchen cupboard. I’ve used all three functions (boiled, poached and omelette) and all work equally well.
I’m really pleased with it and would happily recommend.
I`ve just received my egg cooker and within minutes there was a perfect poached egg on my toast!
Really easy to use, i`m very pleased, no more hovering over a pan on the gas hob.
This egg cooker takes the guesswork out of cooking eggs. You can cook soft, medium or hard boiled as well as poached and even a little omelette.
My eggs turn out perfectly each time, whichever way I cook them in this little gadget. I don’t need to stand over it in case it boils over like I would do if I cooked eggs on the hob. The length of time it cooks depends on the amount of water you add to the base and a handy measuring cup is included.
The unit automatically turns off when it’s finished and it sounds the loudest and most annoying alarm I have ever heard. Where’s the fire? It’s turned itself off and you just need to press the button so there’s really no need for such an earsplitting and persistent alarm.
The instructions are ok for boiling eggs but I didn’t think they were that good for poaching, which I think it calls ‘steamed egg’ in the manual, but steam egg also relates to omelettes as it mentions whisking and adding salt. Hence my confusion. I added a bit of water to the egg like I would do in the microwave but I shouldn’t have as it looked like my egg wasn’t cooked when it actually was cooked but also floating in water.
The poached eggs are an interesting crescent shape which looks nice but doesn’t fill a muffin and makes the muffin top fall off too. They don’t explode like they usually do for me in the microwave so I can definitely cope with the slightly weird shape.
So, yes I would definitely recommend this egg cooker. It’s almost a foolproof way to cook eggs and it’s an added bonus that you can poach and make omelettes as well as hard and soft boiling. Hold onto your skin when the alarm goes off though – I still jump every time it goes off.
It is a compact egg boiler which is capable of boiling up to 7 eggs. Additional cooking dishes are included for alternative cooked eggs such as poached or an omelette. These seem to be well made and quite sturdy. The instructions also mentions the possibility of steaming buns. Although no recipe or cooking guide for buns is given and they would have to fit inside the product with the lid properly fitted.
The measuring beaker is clearly labelled in printed black font giving the measurements for different cooking options. After washing for the first time though, a bit of the black has rubbed away. The other side has indented in the plastic ml measurements but these markings are not in black and are a little harder to read. A safety cap comes fitted to enclose the sharp pin and act as a base. The pin is used to put holes in the larger side of the shell of a raw egg prior to cooking it. The pin in my measuring beaker was not correctly fitted. It was only partially held in place and was wobbly. It fell out when putting a hole in the second egg it was used on. I resorted to using pliers to push it fully inside its storage tube, where it seems to be held far more firmly in place. Although I have currently run out of eggs to further test it on. I suggest checking prior to use to see whether the pin in your measuring cup is secured properly in place or not.
It advises to use pure water so that the metal plate inside won’t get stained from the elements found in tap water. Although it advises using a little citric acid or vinegar to clean it after it has cooled, between uses and this should clean any staining or limescale from regular tap water.
The egg cooker heats up quickly. When no more water is left on the metal plate, the light goes out and a very loud buzzing noise sounds until the on/off button is pressed to turn the product off.
Eggs are cooked very well. Which is the main purpose of the product. It is a shame I have experienced a couple of issues with the measuring beaker.
For those who like eggs, this small egg steamer is ideal. There are options to steam your hard boiled eggs, poach or have as an omelette. The product comes with a little water jug. I got this specifically for omelettes, but it’s so small, it’s more like something that you get in a McMuffin. There were no instructions on how to set up the steamer for omelettes, so I had to look at the product page for directions. It was very quick, but the alarm that goes off once the water has evaporated gave me a real fright! You can’t go off and leave it while it steams. My bugbear is that I had to wash up 3 plastic parts and wipe down the steamer base after using this, whereas normally I’d only need to wash up my omelette pan and a spatula. More washing up is a negative in my book. Otherwise the product is good if you have lots of eggs to steam at the same time.
This is a small device with a footprint around the same size as a half-dozen egg box and about twice the height, so very easy to store. You can use it to boil seven eggs, poach two or make a single omelette, albeit not at the same time.
It basically steams everything and you determine how well the eggs are done by controlling the amount of water added to the tray. Eggs sit on a cup, in a poaching pod or omelette pan each of which rests on top of the water reservoir and get cooked by the steam generated. Once the water has boiled away, an alarm sounds, heating stops and your eggs should be ready. You need to wait a couple of minutes if they need more cooking before you can turn it back in, so try to get the water right using the rough guide in the leaflet.
The water comes to the boil quickly as there isn’t a lot in the tray, which is wide as well. I poached eggs and they were ready in the time it took for me to toast and butter bread and make coffee. Boiled eggs take longer, but not much.
I have only used this item to produce eggs in various forms, although it can be used to steam vegetables and other items as well. All of the information that you need to know about the amount of water to use to produce up to seven boiled eggs in the way that you want them is written in the leaflet and, with a bit of trial and error, you can achieve your favoured result.
I didn’t boil or poach eggs very often because of problems using a very old hob, but this small gadget means I can now make my own egg mayo, poach to my heart’s content and turn out an omelette in next to no time and with very little effort necessary for cleaning up. It is a small item to store and everything fits under the lid so, if you like making eggs in various ways, this is a worthwhile consideration.
I like hard boiled eggs, but sometimes find the faff of timing them in a normal saucepan is too much effort. And my wife hates cooking them because she also finds it difficult to get the timing just right.
As you can see from the video I’ve uploaded, this simple little cooker produces beautiful hard boiled eggs. You can, of course, make soft or medium boiled eggs if you prefer, but I like hard boiled. So do my dogs!
I udpated the video to show how well it makes soft boiled eggs – dippy eggs my adult kids call them! Judging by the silence while they were eating the eggs I made (with toast soldiers!!!), I’d say they went down a storm. Obviously you can modify the amount of water you use to get the exact level of softness or doneness that you like – and take into account the size of eggs you use. In the close up shot in the video you can see just how great the soft boiled eggs look and I can attest to the fact they were really good.
It’s simplicity itself to use and the alarm to indicate the cooking has finished is very loud! You won’t miss it even if you’re in another room.
I especially like how small and neat this little cooker is. I don’t really know if I’ll use it to make omelettes – we don’t have them all that often. But we do like poached eggs on a Sunday.
This gives a slightly different texture to “poached” eggs so I’d continue to use the traditional way, but if you’re less fussy than I am it will work just fine. You could always add a few little bits (herbs, cheese, ham etc.) and whisk the eggs before putting them into the little moulds.
I’ll probably be using this twice a week.
The one thing I don’t like is that the inner silver surface (the heating plate) soon marks. Doesn’t stop it working properly, but I’d prefer it to remain shiny and new looking to be honest!
