I bought this to replace the drive on my pc that is refusing to work. This works a treat. I use it to burn discs, of my own music. Great value!
This gadget has facilitated access to lots of old videos and CD’s. It’s priced well and is compact and easy to use. There are so many of these to choose from but I recommend this one as it works efficiently.
Quick and easy plug and play device. Comes with USB type C and USB type A connections so you can use whatever your laptop supports. Also comes with mini USB valve, so if you require additional, power you can use that too.
I’ve used type C for reading and burning and had no issues.
I’ve given 5 star because the return was simple but it’s advertised as a usb and usc connection comparable with the new Mac book pro. It isn’t! It didn’t come with a usc connection so I sent it back
Bought this drive because a previous player I bought failed after about 10-15 disks. This player has done circa 200 disks and still going strong (backing up old photo CD’s over many years). Like the fact can be used with either USB3 and USB C and the very useful and strong case it comes in.

I bought this to play my families old DVD’s as newer laptops like man a gamming laptop don’t have cd players and i don’t want to cash out 40-50 on a DVD Player so i bought this i also needed extra ports for my laptop so this helped me plus i can use SD card Slots as well which i previously couldn’t do with my laptop
Having this device my father can listen/watch his 60s 70s CDs/ DVDs easily, as nowadays laptop doesn’t come with CD/DVD drive anymore. It is quite simple and easy to use, can be used as card reader as well because of multiple input ports. It embedded with USB-C and USB cable for quick connection, no power input needed as it takes power from laptop. It doesn’t require set up or APP installation to use. So far it has requirement on the veriosn/ technology on CD/DVD that need to refer with instructions manual. Portable size with storage bag for traveling. Reasonable price 30
I plugged this into my Win11 Alienware laptop via the USB-C connector. It registered immediately, no fuss.
There is an option for a USB-C or USB-A connection, which is ideal if you have a machine that was made after drives were removed from new laptops but before USB-C became more prevalent!
I have to confess I spent about 5 minutes thinking it was broken out of the box because I stuck a BluRay in it to test it! It is ‘just’ a DVD player, but the majority of the software I have still on disk is DVD anyway. I have looked into an external BR player and they seem to go from 70 up, so this is a very reasonable compromise as long as you haven’t got a stack of BluRay films you were hoping to watch on your laptop.
The drive is very quiet in operation and I do like the additional connections on the back (SD card, TF, etc), as well as the draw-string baggie that comes with it to carry it in.
If I have one disappointment, it is the shortness of the USB cable. It is directly wired into the unit, so it’s not as if you can simply get a longer one. It’s around 10″ long, so you can’t really have your laptop on your lap while you use this, in fact I couldn’t even have the drive sitting next to the laptop; it only has ports on the back and the laptop is of a size where the lead doesn’t allow it to stretch round from the back of the screen! That is the only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars.
My disc drive on laptop stopped working so i looked at buying a portable dvd player to plug in. Found this on Amazon and was very pleased! It works brilliantly,is nice and quick to load,and is very quiet. Quick to burn/transfer dvds and cds onto laptop. I looked at buying a new laptop however discovered new laptops dont come with built in dvd/cd drive any more,and it would have cost a fortune to get a new drive installed/repaired on my laptop at a pc repair shop!

This is a great unit especially if you have a laptop with only 1 or 2 usb ports. This dvd rewriter not only burns cds and dvds, It also has a standard sd card port and micro sd port at the rear of the unit. along with the more modern usb c type ports x 2 has usb 3 on the side and usb 2 at the rear it also comes with a handy dual usb c and usb 2 cable for running the unit that is cleverly pressed into the base so no looking for cables to use it. This does also come with a usb to power supply plug should you wish to use it. CD, DVD writing is easy with Windows and works quite well on the fly. Added bonus for me was the RGB led lighting on the top of the unit as I have just built a custom pc with lots of rgb lighting.
